Hi There! Officially they only take Diploma in Accounting, however sometimes you might get lucky and they will be able to admit you into the next step (based on your subjects) but that is a big maybe, especially if you’re not coming from UNISA. Worse case scenario they will ask you to do a diploma in accounting or the bachelors degree and give you credits for the subjects you have completed. @@SILINDILENGUBANE-vo6rr yes. Hey Tumiso, for an accounting/bookkeeping firm you don’t need to be a CA. You do need to have a professional designation though (e.g. CIMA,ACCA,SAIPA), then you can apply for a practice number with SAICA (R250) and run your practice. You cannot be a registered auditor though as a non CA, so you cannot be the partner/ director/owner of an firm if it provides assurance services (audit, reviews).
It depends on the course load. Generally, most economics programmes have accounting as a subject somewhere along the line, so there’s a high chance of being accepted. I know people who took that route. But this one would be pretty much up to the discretion of the admissions people. An example of an accounting related degree not SAICA Accredited would be b.com general or b.com accounting and law.
Hi👋, I love you video, it is very informative. Is it possible to stream to CA if you're doing a saica accredited degree but it is accredited as AGA(SA) or does it specifically have to be accredited as CA(SA)?
I do have a question, lets say you start off with a non Account ing degree, you do the advanced degree then the advanced diploma/bridging course, and maybe you decide that CA is just not for you, can you still get into accounting related careers, such as internal auditing or even getting into taxation honors? etc... or this route is purely for aspiring CA's and if somewhere down the line you decided that you dont want to be a CA then thats just that! Are those two qualifications then wasted?
@@Kim_Ngumbela the bridging course is specifically for CA but at the end of it you can decide to go into any field that’s not CA, but, for internal audit I feel it would be a waste of time to do those if you already know you’re not gonna follow CA route. Rather just do the internal audit qualifications. For tax honours , I feel like it would benefit you if you did these first because Tax is one of the majors of the CA(SA) route, so you’ll be covered enough to do a tax honours.

@@Zintle noted Thank you
Can you study to become a CA with Mathematical literacy?
The short answer is yes but it won’t be the traditional route
@@Zintle thank you 🙏
Yey
Hi,is it possible to stream to CA if you do a diploma in accountancy?
Hey Naledi, yes definitely. You just need a bridging course
how long did this journey take ?
It’s supposed to take 7/8 years but for some people it’s 5 and others it’s 10,15,20 years
If i have ACCA but I want to be certiffied by SAICA where do I start?
From the beginning 🥹. Unlike CIMA, there is no conversion from ACCA to CA( SA) currently.
Do you know any bursaries for the bridging course
No hun, I don’t. But if you will be doing articles at the same time, some employers might pay for you
How much is the registration fee for higher certificate in accounting science
7k
It depends on how many modules you will be taking, so you can expect to pay anything between R5k - R7k.
you forgot Eduvos, darling???
Is bcom economics degree an accounting related degree?
It depends on the course load. Generally, most economics programmes have accounting as a subject somewhere along the line, so there’s a high chance of being accepted. I know people who took that route. But this one would be pretty much up to the discretion of the admissions people. An example of an accounting related degree not SAICA Accredited would be b.com general or b.com accounting and law.
Hi👋, I love you video, it is very informative. Is it possible to stream to CA if you're doing a saica accredited degree but it is accredited as AGA(SA) or does it specifically have to be accredited as CA(SA)?
Thank you so much for watching 😊, has to be. CA(SA) stream degree otherwise you have to go through conversions if it’s anything outside of that 😊

Girl! Don't tempt me😂
It won’t hurt 😊😊😊😊😊😂
But if you don’t have to do these specific ones to get into tax honours. You don’t need a SAICA accredited degree to do it
Hi I am currently doing post graduate diploma in financial accounting. Do I still need to to the bridging coourse after?
hey love, I've completed my Bcom in Human Resources Management last year however i want to be a chartered accountant where do i start?
Hey sis, If you had accounting as a subject then bridging course, if not then advanced certificate in accounting would be next 😊
