That was fantastic- I’m in a stagnant phase and you may have just snapped me out of it- those voicing are what I need to start exploring again. Too many silly songs with my grandkids lately, I guess. Thanks a million!!!
Yes!!! This music contains gypsy motives indeed. I like it. I regret you were not my professor back in my musical school years. You are definitely my introducer into the world of gypsy jazz music. Thank you very much.
At about 1.40 you talk about the power of having the 7th in the bass . That with your vigour. Great stuff. I'm loving your guitar where can one find one? Second hand
hi Robin I wanted to ask if there is a possibility to write to you personally, I think you are a very talented musician and I would like some advice or tips from you. I've been trying to learn guitar for about 2 years but I can't get any further on my own. because gypsy jazz is my music but i don't have anyone to learn with i wanted to try to learn a basic from you in this way because i already fail at happy birthday
nice that you answer so quickly. I try all of me, seul ce soir and nuages but as soon as it gets more difficult my patience wears off. As I said, I started with no knowledge and am trying my music.. the songs with open chords that are shown on the internet are just not my direction....
I have to say that some people advised me to start learning how our style of gypsy jazz is played right away. When I wrote to a German TH-camr teacher what I could learn, he said he chooses simple songs for her and that's no help to me. I would like to ask you if you could make a video with the song whispering with chords and melody with greetings to Belamy lol
Super cool chords! Instead of 2 bars of D I sometimes play 1 bar of Am and 1 bar of D just to add some movement (useful when playing in duo of guitars)
👏👏👏 these videos you are doing are spot on TAC members are learning drones this week and this ties in beautifully. And the add 7 is tied in as well. Great spoonfuls, thank you for the lessons.🤙😎
It takes forever to learn it just by listening and watching you do it, where as if you Would show it in TABS can be learned quicker and easier. Add tabs to your instructions for heavens sake….why don’t you?
Very beautifull classic approch, Robin!

Go! Robin
Good one, robin. Just what i need to work on!
It is this mysterious intro that draws me to Swing Gitane. How a wooden box with metal wires on it can evoke so much feeling.!
I sometimes look at the guitar like that too.. amazing! 🎸❤️🙌
@@GypsyJazzSecrets of course the fingers manipulating those wires have little to do with it 😁
@@dingoswamphead it has been said
Nice arangment and a great example of chord inversions!
Those voicings are owesome, with the third on bass. I’m enjoying it a lot.
Yes great sound Dan! 🙏💕🎸

Also, it’s just a lot of fun to play this! I often play it at the beginning of practice to warm up too.
Good idea, Jeff. It would floor the other guys in the guitar shop too.

It’s a bit like the first chords of Libertango. Sounds cool.
Yes true!
Beautifully demoed Robin. Guaranteed to inspire. Thank you for this mini lesson.
