The Ultimate Caribbean Cruise Port Guide -Things to do in La Romana

If you are booked to go on a Caribbean Cruise and one of your cruise ports is La Romana, then here is a little taster of what to expect.
I booked the Choo Choo train with P&O Cruises which is a 45 minute tour to the centre of La Romana and back. Was it worth the £15pp , no not really as you will find out, but the entertainment was amazing.
What I would recommend however is the P&O Cruises excursion to Saona Island , i cover some of it in this video. Due to the time restraints getting to the island and back , you must book with P&O Cruises as they guarantee the ship waits for you as it is a regular occurance passengers on this trip can be slightly late so please book with the cruiseline so you are guaranteed for the ship to wait for you.
In Episode 1 - I visit Barbados and spend the day snorkeling off a catamaran up the west coast. Wow what a trip that was and highly recommended.

In Episode 2 - I visit Tortola and travel to one of the most stunning beaches in Tortola independently. Really easy to visit and highly recommended

In Episode 4 - I visit St Maarten, and visit Orient Beach one of the top 3 beaches on the Island, again done independently and great if you are looking for an all over tan as my video shows!!

It is always good to do your research ,so my video covers a few things to know before you go.
A stunning island which is famous for its panoramic views and incredible beaches. Tortola is Totally safe and a place that definitely gives you the whole Caribbean experience.

I think cruises are good, but that was such a small controlled area, I think I'm in love with la romana the real city I had an opportunity to actually walk the city streets and drove around, from punta cana

Good video. Went on Arvia cruise March 4 to 18. Enjoyed La Romana. My husband and I were adventurous and took a motorcycle tour at areas around La Romana.

A great way to see places if you can get the hang of the motorbike. We did it in st Lucia and loved it. Did you have a great time on the cruise?

I’m so sorry I can’t remember the name. We literally asked the taxi driver to take us to the nearest beach from the cruise port and this was the one. About 20 minutes away and was a beautiful beach x

Any hotels in La Romana that are nice near cruise port (need to stay somewhere before cruise a couple of nights)

Hiya I have just goggled this. I was only in port for a day so didn’t visit any hotels so I can’t personally recommend them to you but on this link it looks like there are a few for you to choose from :-)
