    It happened to me today as I was picking my car from Audi dealer. What happens is that the control module gets stuck and doesn’t wake up when you turn the ignition. In order to fix it they have to update the software of the control module which takes approximately 48 hrs. So my car is going back and it will be fixed under warranty as it’s a malfunction of their module.

      Oh man I ended up getting rid of it when used car prices went ballistic and got a Jetta. I don’t like the Jetta…..thinking BMW, Lexus or Acura next. Sick of VAG electronics issues.

      Were either of you able to get this fixed? First they told me it was an antenna issue, which they ‘fixed’ still there now saying the whole part or module needs to get fixed, been waiting months for the part on backorder

    I got the same message on my 2023 (yes, ‘23) Q5 today. 2 days after picking it up. It actually called the service & the mic in the car didn’t work. Awkward, but I’ll be bringing it to get serviced tomorrow. I’ll keep you updated on what they say.

    Would love an update on this, just got this issue with my 2019 a4 and it seems to be almost every cold start that message pops up, then turns off after I turn off my car and turn it back on at atleast 140f oil temp

      Bummer! Well, I traded the Audi A4 in for a huge trade-in value when used car prices spiked and drive a 2021 VW Jetta SEL now. So far I've experienced ZERO issues with the Jetta's electronics. Maybe the VW tech will make it to Audi soon because I'm itching for an Audi A5 coupe, AFTER Audi has addressed their electronics issues.

    Just wanted to leave this here, but if it doesn't work. I tried using the same bluetooth connected phone to call the phone number when this error happened in a dead zone a few weeks later when I wasn't in the car but somewhere else with good connection. Had a call for a minute. Went back to the car. Phone connected to car and now the SOS malfunction error disappeared. I already tried pressing down the SOS button and cancelling it and it didn't work. Tried this a few weeks later and it worked! Light is gone now.

      I never could make it remain "fixed." Audi order a part and months passed. It never came in and I traded out of the vehicle before then. I refuse to purchase another VAG vehicle unless they address their electronics issue. They are great cars but my two Volkswagens and two Audis all four were riddled with electronics issues. That's why you buy a BMW haha, I've had 2 BMWs so far (own two currently) and my dad has had dozens throughout his life. Very minimal issues at most, nothing major. I have heard tons of people complain about their modern Audi (and Mercedes) cars. Best of luck!
    And my guess is there may be some sort of software update to fix this issue. You could even try disconnecting the battery to reset the computers.

    • @IrixGuy

      I've owned two BMWs and never had any electronics or other issues with them. My only BMW gripe was that they used run-flat tires that rode rough and wore out quickly. Actually the dealer won’t/can’t do shit because they can’t get a hold of these sos modules that need to be replaced.
      I’m guessing you never got this rectified? I’m going through it right now, for the past 1.5 months. Can’t use most of the tech in the car; can’t even connect my phone to Bluetooth. The car is broken with no end in sight.
      The dealer says “it’s on order, no idea when it will be in though…”
      I’ve seen on the Audi forums ppl saying they’ve been waiting since 2021.
      I am so angry with audi. Just driving around in broken car and they’re not doing anything for me. No updates, nothing. Just “it’s on order”.
      Done with Audi forever after this.

      VAG lost me as a customer, until they start putting reliable electronics in their vehicles. I’ve owned two VWs and two Audis and all four had electronics issues. They looked nice, were comfortable to sit in, handled great and achieved excellent MPG but the nail in the VAG coffin for me was the Audi A4. Due that electronics issue I could no longer attend meetings while driving my car. ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE!!!! I drive a 2024 Acura Integra now. It was assembled in Ohio snd so far ZERO issues. Just be glad you’re not driving an electric vehicle. Those must be an absolute nightmare :(

  • @jaimechristoff5710
    @jaimechristoff5710 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I am not sure which year or models this impacts but I also have an SOS error. Audi dealer said it is part of a recall so I could elect to have them disable the message or do a retro fix. They advised the root cause is because the SOS SIM is 3G AT&T and AT&T turned off their 3G service. The fix is Audi will provide a device that gets plugged into the car dataport (OBD) that then syncs with the Audi Motion App you install on your phone. I had to make a decision then and there or forfeit the fix. I took the fix but looking into it now and may decide against it. Seems like a cheap fix to the problem and I am not sure if the SOS button would even work on the car after. I think you have to use the app at that point.

    • @IrixGuy
      @IrixGuy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Strange and this whole thing makes no sense. I unloaded my 2020 Audi A4 when used car prices went insane and got a 2021 VW Jetta. So far *zero* issues with the Jetta. Maybe VAG has sorted this out with newer models. I do like Audi but not the unreliability of the electronics.

    • @JakeT420
      @JakeT420 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@IrixGuy Yeah Audi still has its issues. I work at an Audi dealer and recently Audi has had a very bad alternator problem where they would just randomly crap out and the whole car would just shut off while driving. And it was happening to the newer models, all with usually well under 30k miles. And the alternators were on back order for like 6 months or so. So maybe about 50 cars or so at the height of it were just sitting in a back lot for months. Of course Audi paid for it but brand new cars shouldn’t be doing that. And also I guess Audi has the alternators to put in new cars but not ones for the cars they just sold that crapped out.

Them multiple other sensors. Some car manufacturers use wire sheathing that is very attractive to MICE! 😡 Repairs were not covered by warranty but my insurance covered it under collision w animal coverage.
