Pre-dawn hour has always been associated with prayer and meditation. In a different context, this hour also brings the pain of parting from the beloved. Early morning ragas are therefore mainly somber and devotional. Some too carry a feeling of universal sorrow and longing. This album features some of the ragas commonly sung in the pre-dawn hours. The album begins with raga Lalit, sung by Rajan & Sajan Mishra, followed by raga Bhairav, rendered by Shahid Parvez on the sitar. The volume concludes with raga Ahir Bhairav, sung by Shruti Sadolikar.
