I've just been watching a couple of your videos from October last year , what a difference apart from the new signs and white lines NOT a spammer with half a dozen phones standing there all day in sight ! So apart from them everything has changed for the better 😀. Hope you're enjoying your day off John as protests kept Whitehall closed . Poor little " Fonzie " was like a lost soul with nothing to do 😂😂😂

There are far too many lapses in Policing Horseguards over the last few weeks.
I agree I really miss the last regime of police , the lovely strict lady and the two tall , as I don’t know their names I do not wish to offend in any way , but the two coloured police , they were exceptional at getting order . Hope they all come back very soon . I miss the “ old “ corporal of horse too , he was very visible around Horse Guards . Love the twin guards .
@@ElizabethLewis-q1e Yeah, I noticed the use of "coloured" too. It could be an age thing. My husband is 80 years old and is black. He still still refers to himself & others like him as coloured, at times, because that's the word used most of his life and to him it's not rude, even though he does try to say black
@@joytuc2608that's the way people who grew up in the fifties, sixties and part of the seventies referred to black people. That is the way it was so everyone chill. I still do it and I will be 75. It's the way it was. It's better than the N word which was also used.
I remember this video and when you shared it a few days ago. These two police officers are new, as in this is the first time I've seen either of them. I also noticed they stay in that corner and not do anything till someone else comes out and starts doing crowd control. Either they are so new they don't know what to do, or they don't care. Either way, it's a shame because since they started, there is zero crowd control, even when the horse has a melt down.
I also noticed that the new police officers demeanour is different from the ones before. Maybe they have new orders, like the Guards. The Guards don't shout anymore and maybe the police have similar orders like to hold back (sorry my English is not so good)
Hey John! Looks massive crowded in the yard today. Glad I’m snuggled at home with my morning coffee! Have a good day out there! Thanks again for your commentary and keep the good work!
Wow no wonder the horses have a melt down sometimes. So many people it’s crazy. These troopers need a HUGE thank you for everything they do including putting up with this mess. At least most of them are being respectful. Wow just blows my mind
Hi John from Indianapolis Indiana I just have to say what amazes me is how the troopers can back the horses up into the box that just is incredible! Thank you so much for taking me on a stroll to horse guards!… have an awesome day!🩵
The ghost of the haunted box was definitely at home today! The trooper controlled the horse extremely well. And I'm glad you didn't finish earlier John, or else we wouldn't have seen the box swap.

Truly outstanding horsewoman, this Guard! Large tour groups that day, John. After these Guards swapped boxes, the other horse acted up too! The problem with the scammers can only be solved by the issuing of licenses for the police to check too see if they are legitimate if not send them packing.
"Even the pigeon got scared." hahahaha! John, you come out with some zingers. But seriously, that crowd during the guard change was frightening. It's really going to progressively get worse over time. From a birds eye view, I looks like they need to start emergency plans when the yard gets too crazy. You are on the ground all the time, how do you think they could aliviate this problem? Off the top of my head, it might be a good idea to have someone who's duty it is to give a general assessment of the crowds in side the gate about 15 minutes before the guard change, and temporarily prevent any more people from coming in from both directions. It's so dangerous to have that many people in a very closed area. One horse bolting or getting to anxious could trigger anything causing a potentially terrible accident, and even panic in the crowd. wow!
It never ceases to amaze me that given the horrific photographs splashed all over the world of the bloody horses bolting through London, that more people aren’t aware that when horses are spooked in the city they damage themselves and other people and cars and it’s just an awful incident. Every time you describe something is extraordinary, John, I like to replace the word with something unprintable! The stupidity of tourists, their lack of awareness and care just astounds me. Yes these twin sisters are extremely professional. They command respect with just their demeanour and consistency of asking to remain out of the box w/a “please” after the command.
The horses certainly do not like certain group of tourists who scream in an agitated way shouting others how to take their photos .In many cases it is this that starts the unsettled behaviour with the horses. last week was very bad. The previous ones were working with the horse guards. What changed? Maybe the lady that came out in a previous video had some clout and now they can't do the same as before? She stopped and glared a few times at one of them.
I can't believe how many tourists just stand around when the horses are having difficulties. It's as if they really don't understand what damage the horse can do to them.
