This song is amazing. Almost brought me to tears today, and i haven't cried in years. "He is God, we are just men, who are we to question?", and "This melody will move us, this song will lead us on" just really got to me on my way home from school. It almost felt as if Jakes screams pierced my heart. Any band that can impact me like this is an amazing band, considering the fact that i am not an emotional person at all. I love ABR so much. God bless all the band members.
I can't even imagine how the people of Manheim would feel if they heard 1/16/2011 and Boys of Fall back to back. Its like 1/16 is the grieving for their loss, and then Boys of Fall is the standing back up and looking to God for hope. Just amazing.
@AustinLovesDrPepper6 This song and 1/16/11 are connected. ABR is from Manheim, PA. On 1/16/11 four boys from Manheim (Boys of Fall) died in a car crash. These two songs are dedicated to them and their families.
incredible, this song just made me re-evaluate my life. i feel like this is a personal sign from god to me. i have no where to run. had some "crazy" thoughts lately. but i can go on.
this song is actually very comforting. i have 2 very good friends with cancer right now and i've been struggling in my faith. it's hard to know why God let's tragedy hit us but "He is God, we are just men. who are we to question?" but as always, scripture and the music of august burns red have saved the day :) "this melody will move us, this town is reborn"
This song really hit home when I heard it today. Yesterday a boy named Harry Cohen died, he was a football player from my old high school. I didn't know the kid, but he lead his team to victory days before his death. The whole town here is at a lost of words to see such a young hero die, even people who didn't know him such as myself. This song really brought the emotion that I felt about his death. Prayers to his family and all the ones who will miss him. This town will be reborn.
Been following abr, for as long as I can remember, way back when I was in high school, but I think this is there best album. The message is powerful, and the orchestration is well put together. And it reminds me of when I lost my brother n really lifts a burden.
i was introduced to these guys when JB did a guitar solo for Emery's new Cd and i have to say normally i don't like this type of music but they do it really well, I'm going to have to get my hands on this album.
ive always been a huge abr fan, even back in the days of Thrill Seeker. Last February i lost my brother, Lance Corporeal Corey "Stitch" Little, USMC. Corey's squad, which included an AH-1 Super Cobra and a UH-1 Huey, was training to deploy to Afghanistan in a couple of months and they were flying a low-light training op and they collided mid-air, killing all seven of them. I listened to this song a few days after the accident and payed attention to the lyrics, it got me thru a real bad time
True story here. I once hacked into the football stadium at my high school during halftime. I plugged my ipod into the speakers and jammed Eleventh Hour over the entire stadium. The band was playing on the field at the time and stopped in the middle of their show. I got in trouble, yes but the level of epic was amazing.
God bless ABR. This type of music is so moving to me because it deals with the absolute darkness, pain, and loneliness felt in life at times, but at the same time glorifies, worships, and honors the Lord in a way that can reach millions. God bless these guys, those who know Him, those who want to know Him, and those who reject Him. He is so pure, so is His Son, and so is His Spirit. We are blessed that we can appreciate Him this way because of bands like this. ALL Glory be unto HIM who loves us.
^didnt have enough room to finish but this song really helped me out and just got me to stop being angry. i was angry and God for taking my best friend from me and these lyrics sort of calmed me. to this day whenever i start to get upset, sad, or mad i just pop in leveler, close my eyes, and just relax. much respect for these guys and for what they do. Semper Fi
I've said it before but.. I wonder what the reaction of Manheim would be hearing 1/16/2011 and Boys of Fall back to back. 1/16 is like the mourning for the loss, then Boys of Fall is revival and hope in God. I am stunned at how amazing this album really is.
I personally don't belive in god, but these lyrics are simply beautiful as every others ABR's ones...(sorry for my bad english) I just listen to them since i was 12 and there isn't one abr's song that i could dislike. And now, even if I'm listening to heavier music such as after the burial and many others djently bands, I'm happy I can still say that ABR RULES!
friday nights will be the best felling you every felt have crowds cheer for the team play in the spot light a-lot of memorys will come back each time your under them NHS football
@jmania21 @AlexanderWearsPrada the answer is!!!! 4/4 followed by 9/4. The way JB put this one together is absolutely nuts.. You can almost say 15/4 with a pickup note inbetween frames, but it wouldn't end on beat. So it alternates 4/4, 9/4, 4/4, 9/4, 4/4, 9/4, 4/4, then ending with 9/4. >.
@ircool321 I really don't care what your opinion is. The Word Alive is one of the best metal bands I've discovered since just last year and I don't think anyone has topped them since my finding. Bought their Deceiver album the week it was out, met the band, and it was some of the best moments I've ever shared with such a great band. And I've met a lot of bands.
@ccarter010 - Yeah, I know. I have heard him declare his faith also. But, he says "God" and "Father," but he has not mentioned Jesus Christ...at least not yet in a song lyric.
@Swagathor - Yes bro, I'm a Christian too. I'm not saying what Jake has been doing was wrong. I am only saying that his faith is growing and he has become more bold. Therefore, maybe the next album will actually mention the name that is above all names and the name that offends people. That name is Jesus Christ. That's all I'm saying.
I don't think thats what he means. I think he means that we should be be humble and accept the fact that "I don't know everything", and that some things in life are beyond "human knowledge". We should always search for meaning, and have a desire to learn, but there's point in one's life where it's ok to just accept things as it is, and leave it up to God.
@LittleCrow18 well we don't *need* it. and i was kind of making a humerous scenario if the world actually ended just kinda light one up right there it'll be okie.
this song is so awesome. everything about it.

Kwame Mintah music is medicinal for the soul my brother

The lyrics fit the riffs so well
Yeah they do!!

ABR is the only metalcore band that can move me to tears with their music alone. And Boys of Fall is a prime example.
This video needs about 1 million views. From now on my duty is to listen to this a million times.
two of my very good friends are battling cancer, this song is very encouraging :) God is good
These lyrics are so powerful. Plus the melodies are really moving. Just love this song

Agreed
I doubt I would still be religious if I hadn't heard the absolute passion and heart that ABR puts into each and every song.
i was introduced to these guys when JB did a guitar solo for Emery's new Cd and i have to say normally i don't like this type of music but they do it really well, I'm going to have to get my hands on this album.
we're figures in the forest full of haunting trees, brushing shoulders with death to make sure we're alive...... gave me chills

"We are your strength when you don't have anymore." so good listening to it.
Where we belong is with you. Please rescue us.
Just heard the revised version and it’s amazing. But the original just hits different.
Listen to it in earphones! It makes the song have more meaning and passion than playing it out loud! You'll be way more pumped! :)
God bless ABR. @jamcow3 That threw me off when i first heard it. But i couldn't figure it out. It's on the off beat so that makes it more difficult to figure out:P

@MartyJSwizzle There may not BE a "next" album...
@MartyJSwizzle Ever heard of the Holy Trinity?
@DrRoCkSo221 why do we need drugs to taint our musical understanding of this awesome band?
I don't think thats what he means. I think he means that we should be be humble and accept the fact that "I don't know everything", and that some things in life are beyond "human knowledge".
