The first time I saw one of your videos I immediately identified the bright yellow shears, which match with the alternate second stage line. I love it and am so glad you posted this video! Can you tell me if there are SCUBA-related rules and regulations that may dictate the color or placement of such accessories?
Best place to attach a whistle to backplate bcd?? Travel BCD’s are compact, therefore, have limited real estate to attach accessories. Really gotta be creative. And, your videos are GREAT! Thank you!
Hello Bonnshack S. I usually will attach my whistle to my SMB. Or you can use a little short piece of cave line and tie it to your left should or right shoulder D-Ring. You can then secure it underneath a small band, the same ones we use to secure our back up lights.
Thanks for another awesome video! If you’re carrying a backup where do you mount it typically? I saw you told another person you normally carry two shears. Any reason you don’t have a knife for say rope?
Hello @mr.beacher159, great question. The way we mount it to our straps and inflator hose, we still have plenty of length to raise our inflator system up to deflate the BCD. We can still deflate it through the lower dump while horizontally trimmed. Now in the incidence you have a shorter inflator hose, we would suggest not going around the shoulder strap.
No not currently. I have in the past, and Mares has 2 new Line Cutters out on the market. Depending on what BCD I am wearing, I will always have at least 2 cutting tools. Usually 2 sets of EMT Shears. One is on my Harness / BCD, and one is on my Tender Harness.
For those new to SCUBA looking to glue the nylon sheath onto a BC a good first choice for glue is www.gearaid.com/products/aquaseal-repair-adhesive-cure-accelerator However I personally prefer the non permeant mounting options as demonstrated in this video.
On the Cressi Ultra Light, I would use a whistle that had a clip attached to it. Use a little short piece of line to attach it to the chest strap, then use the clip to clip it to the chest strap to prevent it from dangling. You could also replace the chest strap buckle with a whistle buckle as well.

Hello ManOfMeans, there are no rules or regulations in the Scuba Industry that I am aware of.

If mounting on both hose and strap, how is hose subsequently used for deflating? Seems counter productive

Brian: Do you carry a line cutter as well on your PSD system? if so which line cutter do your carry?

I would like to know how to attach my Dive knife to my BCD
Hello DiDives, depending on your specific BCD model, and specific dive knife, there are several ways you could rig it up.
My BCD is Cressi Aquapro and my dive knife is Cressi Borg
Awesome! Thank you
You’re welcome

AquaSeal makes some great products. Thanks for recommending it to our viewers.
Thanks
You are welcome.
Oops.. I forgot to mention... my bcd is a cressi ultra light....
