    Mads forever! The most amazing actor ever. I’m totally enchanted by him, his voice, looks, body, hair and of course his acting. Just love seeing him in any way. Wonderful family man too!

    I've seen this movie. It's really hard for an actor to have a non talking role and still pull off a character and I'll be damned if he does not DO IT!! You can still pick up what the guy is feeling and hope for the the best. All though sometimes it does not turn out that way. But Mads did a FANTASTIC job of it!! MORE power to you !!!

    The way he carried the boy and also squeezed his arm before he went off to get killed by the natives showed me that he cares about the boy. Also he protected him on the boat.

    one eye maybe Odin an old pagan god , as in norse mythology Odin lost his eye so he can see the future and gain knowledge ,in the movie one eye also sees future (the red scenes in the movie) . i think it's about that norse gods are departing the world after the spread of christianity and discovering the new land as he died in the last scene. also in the scene that he construct a cairn(a pile of stones used in certain rituals) he marks the land through which he's willing to leave the world and sacrifice himself.

    Great performances of Mads, even wih that animal- human role and his eye so ill, he will always be sexy and a super actor, AMAZING PLEASE. EXCELENT MOVIE¡¡¡
    And in the interviews he always talks like a smart and intelligent man. Easy to answer the questions. My favorite actor without doubt.

    I enjoy Mads' work. He's neat to watch, gets in character with the best of them. He's kind of sexy in a creepy kinda way...LOL...Not that he's creepy. He's just .... "different"...kinda like Christopher Walken...but...sexy..

    Can anyone list the directors he said this one was inspired by? I understood Sergio Leone, one sounded a bit like Tchaikovsky but he wasn't a director so I'm lost.

      AMpufnstuf The first one was (Akira) Kurosawa, Sergio Leone, and the 3'rd one did sound like Tchaikovsky, and like you said he's not a director. Hmm.

      Oda Lanizi Fucking Danes and their accents haha, I love Kurosawa and still didn't catch that. If any of you are pals with Mads please ask him who the third director was.

      @Mrsupermatt2172 9 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      AMpufnstuf I'm pretty sure he was talking about Andrei Tarkovsky, the russian director. Makes sense, there is a lot of him in Valhalla Rising. Watch Stalker from him.

      Kurosawa, Leone & Tarkovsky. To be clear, Tarkovsky is the greatest director ever along with Kubrick, so of course he was talking about him.

    "It's a different approach" -- it sure is.
    Still, I would like to see this character again. It's possible. One-Eye didn't seem totally dead by the end of the last one.

    • @jonathanputnam7340
      @jonathanputnam7340 10 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      One Eye was definitely dead at the end. The symbolism would not make sense without his death. He died because he communicated to the Indians, without either of them saying a word, that he respected them. He builds a cairn when they land to prove that he is also a spiritual being that understands and respects their land, whereas the Christians are there to conquer and convert.

      +kamalamasama Yes I may be wrong. What I mean is the real history were rewritten several times in favor of ones who gained the power and this power is based on tora (some call it bibel) and if I read it I can imagine how much must be viped out of the man's past and memory thrugh the centuries. So what left is mostly mere fantasy and such in some way beautifull pictures.
