I'm a bit torn on these boots. Incredibly comfortable and look super sharp, but I find the lockdown just isn't quite there for me. In straight lines I find them to be fine, but as soon as I start to change direction, make quick turns, or make aggressive movements, I find my foot to move a little too much within the shoes. I'm thinking the shape of my feet possibly don't fill enough volume of the shoe and I experience quite a bit of shoe rollover, something I haven't experienced since the Hypervenom Phantom 2 which was caused due to the upper being so pliable.
Not sure if I'm going to continue wearing them which is unfortunate seeing they were very pricey. Considering whether I go back to my previous model the X Ghosted.1 which I loved despite their flaws, or try out the current model of Mercurials for the upcoming season.
That's too bad about the rollover mate! A few suggestions: 1) I assume you got the correct size, but if you didn't for whatever reason, that might help! 2) Have you tried the speedflow.1 with the laces? You'll find they are similar in most ways AND they have slightly better lockdown because of the laces. 3) If you have medium-width or thinner feet, the mercurial is hard to beat and is a GREAT option for players who want a super locked down fit and feel. 4) The Puma Ultra 1.3 does all the things the mercurial does, is $50 less expensive, AND is the lightest speedboot on the market!🔥

I’m late so you probably already upgraded, but grip socks fixed this problem for me entirely. I had the same exact problem, hard cuts I felt my foot slipping inside my boots like crazy.. then againI like to wear regular Nike drifit crews. Switching to my trusox/pure grips and issue was completely fixed. I also got a pair of .1s which eliminated the problem too and let me wear my fav Nike crews but yeah.. get a good quality grip sock and you’ll be good
Hi Noah, I really enjoy your boot reviews and you r doing a great job. May I ask you a question, would you pick speedflow plus to wear for competive matches? Is the good lock good enough for playing match? I am deciding between this boot and adizero hybrid touch remake, which one would you prefer? Thanks a lot for your advice!

One thought came to mind, without the laces, you won’t have the adjustability over time. Do you think the Speedflow+ will eventually over-stretch or become more loose after the break-in period, say after a year or two? I want to invest in a pair that will last me many years of casual use. Thanks!
That's a good point! I haven't found them to overstretch at all since wearing them, but it's possible at some point! If my boots last me a year or two, it's a miracle! Boots usually don't hold their structure for me past 6-8 months at MOST. 🤯

Great video, what would you say are the best boots are for wide toe box but slim mid foot
If you have a super wide toe box and a thin mid foot, go for the Preds! Those are great for that foot shape. The Speedflow + are much more flexible for different foot types. I have a wide toe box and wide mid foot with a really thin heel and they work well for me!

I just wanna get it but I'm training on a hard ground will it have any negative effect on the boot?
Like are they gonna rip quickly or if I get stepped on.

Wow mate! Thank you! That's going to be a personal choice mate! Hard ground will most likely beat up whatever boot you decide to go with. The thinner the upper, the less likely the boot is to last a long time. That's just part of buying a speed boot like the X Speedflow +! 🤝
How do they fit your wide feet?
I returned my pair, they are slightly longer than my Vapors. Loved everything about them though

I found them a bit longer in the toe box área than Nike. What was your experience with sizing?
I find them to fit true to size! Compared to the Vapor, they're about the same length!
guys, adidas change the sizes! now they are smaller than nike. my girlfriend working at adidas and she got new lessons about all shoes, running, football and all others, so adidas start making a smaller size shoes. I am playing with mercurial vapor for more than 10 years. and I always fit a size 44 eu. and in this adidas I fit only 44/1.3 so I think for everybody is different! enjoy football guys!
With laces I have 44.5 should I go a half size down or stay with the same size for the laceless boot ?
If they fit correctly, I'd go with the same size! I wear a 9US in both 🤙🏼

Speedflow + is far superior in my opinion! Much more flexible upper and barefoot sensation on feet! 🔥

They’re a great pair of football boots but they don’t fit my foot as well as some of the other ones! 👍🏼 I’d much prefer a tiempo or a speedflow +

Hi mate! I'm not sure I'd recommend these for a sand pitch, but you could probably play with any stud other than SG! I'd recommend maybe an AG stud pattern 🤝

Definitely mate! I'm a huge fan of black boots, almost 100% going to be better for me than a white boot unless it's white with gold or white with silver... Then I'd have to flip a coin 😅

@@Rj-pm5bb I haven’t had any issues at all with slippage in the boots! I wear grip socks all the time too so that might help out

I baught them. And I sold them after 2 training sesions. Lockdown is hopeless-the upper with change direction streches like a rubber. Nonsense Soleplate system is stiff and dosn't make sense in footbal boot. Touch and fit is top ,but soleplate and strechy upper is disaster. My english is disaster too, bot it's not the point.

Does the boot fit for wide, normal, or slim feet?
Slim and medium width for sure! Some wide footed players like myself as well depending on the shape! It really comes down to preference and a case-to-case basis! 🔥

the only thing about the speed flow is there is no protection
As it is with most speed boots nowadays mate! That's how they get the boot to be so light!

I think these will hold up longer than the .1s because the point ones are so thin and very soft
And in Nigeria here I play in hard grass and the synthetic picthes as we call them
Have black stuffs and they do burn our feet when we play in them so playing there too might also damage the cleats because it happened to my teammates Adidas x ghosted
So what do you say about the speedflows.. about durability in the conditions I just mentioned
And I use cleats for a year or two and I don't think they will hold up for that long
Maybe the speedflow+ will I still don't know..

I'd say they should both hold up about the same mate - and usually boots never last me more than 6-8 months before they break or stretch to the point I can't wear them anymore 🔥
