And Roger is probably focused on the least, which is kind of funny considered how much he contributed to and created in this stage of their career. I think Nick Mason plays the drums kind of like David Gilmour plays the guitar in that it's almost like the instruments are singing. I wish I could explain what I mean better than that. And I also like how Gilmour can hold back and blend without grandstanding because he serves the music rather than his own ego.

Now you are free to listen to the Studio version and really marvel at the complexity and beauty. As many have noted, the Live version in Gdańsk is also one special version to check out. You have heard Wish You Were Here I-IX and you have heard Pompeii, depending on which one pulls your soul more will dictate which album you should go towards next, Darkside of the Moon for tracks more like Wish You Were Here, and Animals for Pompeii...as odd as it is as Wish You Were Here was originally created with Dogs and Sheep tracks in Animals as they were the compositions that were supposed to be the album they went to the studio to make when they had their encounter with Syd, which changed everything and the resulting outcome gave us a new Wish You Were Here lyrics, as well as the creation of tracks Shine On You Crazy Diamond(which should have been your follow up to Wish You Were Here VI-IX reaction IMHO), Welcome to the Machine, Have a Cigar, and Pigs.

    • @lynnhoffman247

@@lynnhoffman247 Thank you for the correction. I am not sure how I mentally swapped those around but I did...WYWH and SOYCD.
It was Shine On You Crazy Diamond that was originally meant to be with Dogs and Sheep, not WYWH. Dogs and Sheep weren't originally named such, as I think one was You've Got to be Crazy, and the other was Raving and Drooling, and SOYCD was always SOYCD. As for the source of info, it comes from many interviews from the 70s, 80s, 90s, and 2000s of band members, studio & production teams, and even the album art production team/company.

Great music . Echoes , when Syd Barrett was originally a co-founder in the band when it started. Progressive Rock.
Syd left the band later due to mental issues, and thats when "Shine on you Crazy Diamond" was written about Syd.
Try listening to TIME , from dark side of the moon album. Its not a long track, but has it all.
A few facts, Dark side of the Moon was on the charts billboard for 736 weeks from March 1973 to July 1988, 15 years, and by
    2006 a combined total 1,716 weeks.
They sold over 45 million albums of Dark side of the Moon alone, and that album is in the Congress hall of fame as a historical groundbreaking Album.
I was listening to them when I was a teenager, and now 65, still listening to them just the same.... timeless music.
Very talanted, much vision and very creative.
    Keep up the good listening...

Ok Man, after this, listen to "A Saucerful of Secrets" from the same live video (Pink Floyd @ Pompeii '72). It is a 10 minutes long song but it's a trip. this version is one of my personal favourites (it's quite like the ummagamma version). Thanks for your video!! regards

some connoisseurs in this comment section, I reckon. It has been said but I will repeat - the studio version is the superior one, sound wise. This one is a classic and it's fun seeing the guys in their prime age, but you do need to hear this piece like it was intended to sound. Also the Royal Albert Hall or Live in Gdansk mid-2000's renditions (last with Wright still alive) are closer to the original.

YOU NEED to hear Led Zeppelin’s Live Version at MSG 1973 of the song Since I’ve Been Loving You. such powerful vocals, great guitar, song effects and based on one of the best drummers ever, all live and improvising in some points, thats a killer, really a masterpiece and a experience by itself, transcends just the “rock” gender. just like many other LZ and Pink floyd songs lol
On Pink Floyd’s song I can’t describe a better musical, lyrical and emotional experience than listening to all the Dark Side of The Moon album with no pauses, one reaction divided in maybe two videos, even one.

Pink Floyd or Led Zeppelin? A flip of the coin or maybe your mood might influence who you want at the moment but they are different yet the same, music at its highest art form, true eternal artists.

I'm happy to see that by now, you are starting to figure out that you don't need to watch Pink Floyd's videos. And that you enjoy better by closing your eyes and let the imagination do the work.

I enjoy your reactions. I heard you rundown the listen of Pink Floyd recommendations and one of the songs you said was "Great Gig In The Sky" I highly recommend when you decide to react to the song that you do the full album The Dark Side Of The Moon from start to finish that the song is on. the whole album goes from one song to the next. ☕ the whole ablum is an experience and you'll understand it better if you listen to it that way.☕

Dave return to Pompeii in 2016 after 43 yrs. The only person to perform there twice since 79 AD, live Pompeii " In any tongue", 'Sorrow". Dave plays his "black Strat" which sold for $3.9 million without his Jimi Hendrix guitar strap XXX ( which Jimi play in July 4,1970 the National Anthem ). Inside this Ampitheater there is a tunnel with a memorial of this performance. Watch the last time played Dave Gilmour " Live at Gdansk" 100,000 audience

Parts one and two are actually constructed as one song in every instance but this one. IMO, the song as a whole suffers as a result. That first section you heard here is much more effective as the middle of the full piece. The birds you heard was David on his guitar. Gotta listen to the studio version and David Gilmour live at Gdansk to really experience this track.

Starting to get the feel that Pink Floyd's music is NOT Normal music at all, eh? They have so many epics and usually have their own ideas as far as song structure, length and just how it fits on an album and transitions to the next piece. They just follow their own rules, inspiration and amazing skill to create music like no one else, they are all musical savants and utter geniuses. Also do anything else from Pompeii, whatever the rest think you should hear next, mine might be Set the Controls for the heart of the Sun. Enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎹🎷🎶

I enjoy watching you react to one of the best groups ever. I hope you get around to Animals. If you do understand its loosely based on the book Animal Farm. With the animals taking over a farm and each of the three main songs represents a group of people in society. Dogs being middle management, pigs being the ruling class, and sheep being everyone else. Thats the only preview you need to help understand the beauty of the greatest album of all time in Animals. Hope you get to do this album.
