Russia has some of the most inventive mechanics, especially older ones, because back during the Soviet era there really weren't that many repair shops around, nor parts stores. You had to pretty much figure it out on your own and repair your Trabant or what-have-you from experience and determination. Full disclosure: I'm an American.
Kind of like Cuba most of the cars on the road are 50+ years old!! Most of the old timers learned to be incredible mechanics with nothing but used parts from the local junkyard to work with!!! 🇨🇺

We stood there for ages photographing it and marvelling at the beautiful creature that it is. So we have more than just BIG ASS SPIDERS to enjoy here. Ever time I go to the US, that's all I hear about - the Aussie "critters" that get our Yankee friends more excited talking about than we ever get when we encounter them. You don't want to mess with our Larapinta Bull Koalas though - they're vindictive and fast. See one and it's lights out before you know it... ;-)

VW dune-mud bugs were commonplace in the 70's because they really weren't that hard to build. Back then, VW Beetles were dime a dozen and cheap (my first car way back in 1980 was a 74 Beetle). All you had to do was remove the body, do some minor mod's and voila, you had a buggy. Used to see them all the time, a' toolin' down the road, on their way to do some mud-buggin'

You'll see him disassemble and then cut apart multiple transmissions, come up with custom gearing, etc. and then when all is said n' done, those transmissions work flawlessly! UnReal.. He never seizes to amaze me! 🤘

Okay we are stupid for not using the metric system, but we only refer to car/truck engines in cubic inches. Seriously, all motorcycle & atv's displacements are referred to in cubic centimeters.
a few of these build I like and are very neat but others are dangerous contraptions that are cool and all but should be safety inspected before use. Better to go up on kijiji than to go up in smoke

And most modern diesel engines aren't nearly as clean as you think, they just use recycled oil systems to keep the soot down by using your engine oil to literally fill your engine with the soot instead making them steadily less efficient so after about 100,000 miles your intake and headers are covered in over a inch of soot clogging it up.
I really wanted to watch this video but that damn annoying excuse for music in the background all the time was just too much to take. Videos DON'T need music. They need a clear, audible commentary and the original sounds to be fully appreciated. Anything else is just white noise that stops you from hearing what is going on. I had to bail out.

My friends and I use to build tall " upside down" bikes in the early 70s 10-15 feet tall all the time, cant tell how many sand buggies made from VW bugs through the decades but talk about OLD NEWS, try to show something innovative or original
The joke is on you, your modern diesel isn't any better, he just lacks the oil recycling system that cuts down on the soot.. S0 instead of ending up in the air it ends up in your engine making it steadily less efficient instead.
It's just a diesel motor without the extra fluid to keep the soot down, even the supposedly clean diesels still smoke like this you just never see it because they spray a liquid in that keeps it from ever exiting and instead builds up in the engine itself making it steadily less efficient and ever 100,000 miles require you to clean them out or they'll be clogged up and seemingly dead.
They need to do some heavy tuning on that stupid diesel powered two-wheel drive motorcycle. That thing smokes like a son of a b****. Either they better rebuild that engine cuz something's not very efficient.

Also, some people can build the crap out of those old VW pancakes, and then they add a turbo and it gets crazy.
