I think they should I just think it should be caped and limited on what they do with some corporations with buy up an area and build cheap housing for their employees, this is a good thing.

These medications are appropriate for the individuals who need them, such as metformin for managing blood glucose in those with diabetes II. They are not without their side effects, some of them can be pretty nasty. While they might be successful in aiding weightloss, they aren't going to fix underlying issues. For example, inactivity and diets high in fat are both risk factors for cognative decline as you age. Simply eating less and losing weight via medication does not negate all the risks normally associated with being overweight. Food in general is far more calorically dense than it was decades ago and as a population we spend more time sitting that ever before. Personally, I think addressing those issues at a population or cultural level is going to be far better for the health of our population than weightloss drugs.
In my head I’ve always put weight loss drugs into the same category as debt consolidation loans - not inherently wrong in and of themselves, but without pairing it with genuine lifestyle changes, it’s unlikely to have the long term benefit people intend, and could end up making things even worse
From personal experience, a lot of the benefits of losing weight are worth the side effects they offer. A prescribed medication is only a part of the program many weight loss clinics offer which includes dietary counseling and tracking of exercise and water intake. If it keeps being stigmatized it WILL prevent people from seeking help. At the end of the day a less fat society will be a better one.

Medication is totally cool for weight loss bro, it’s a very difficult process and the health benefits of it are well beyond normal financial costs that can come with professional help. I’ll say GLP-1 agonists are really the cannons vs metformin and such which is more of a lil pistol unless you have insulin issues, but hey it’s cheap.
Finding ways to make food more filling is often the way to go. Lifting weights is a passion for me, but chicken, eggs, vegetables, bananas, etc. instead of McDonald’s and diet instead of sugar soda is often enough to get big results.
I was prescribed topiramate for migraines when i was 19. I read the side effects online and was FLOORED, its terrifying! Also you shouldnt operate a vehicle on it..
I was on troprimate for migraines after I got a concussion lasting 5 months. While on it I received a lot of the side effects but the main one was stabbing pains in my feet. Best way to describe it was while sitting still, it felt like a knife going into my feet randomly.

As a nurse good job pronouncing, the name of those drugs, did better then most people even people even people that work in the medical field. One thing to note is glp-1 agonists medication which do the same thing might be getting a generic brand starting next month which will hopefully help with supply and price issues.

Love your financial advice and the Audit show, as far as the weight loss medication advertisement I feel these weight loss “medications” are simply bandaids to address the underlying issue of discipline. The very same thing you speak about for finance is there for health/weight. Look into side effects. Muscle loss and bone density loss is the interest you are paying on trying to address something that’s not the main issue. Cutting carbs and intermittent fasting in healthy ways will do wonders but nobody wants it to be as simple as it is.. like finance…

Love the content Caleb! Very thorough but easy to digest. I'm curious, you've mentioned brands recently that are on the boycott lists for the Pro Palestine movement but have not made the connection to their drop in revenue and this movement. Is that a personal choice as I know you often don't speak on these social and "political" issues or do you genuinely think that the boycott has not been a part of this recent decline in these companies?
On a separate note - I would urge you to look into Operation Olive Branch and other ways to prop up Palestinian voices in the midst of this crisis as someone with a reach into diverse communities who may not already be thinking about it.
Again loving all the content and learning how to better my own financial situation to then help support others.

For weight loss, one of the easiest things to do is eat salads for main meals
As someone who went from 260 pounds to 200, the reason people struggle to lose weight is because they don't log their calories.
You need to log every calorie and you need to be religious about it for at least 6 months.
If you do it right you will not only restrict your calories but also types of foods. Making it easier for you to intuitively know what to eat and how much.
No fast food, no soda/juice, no frozen meal boxes, no bread loaded with preservatives.
Also of note the popular weight loss drugs tend to result in people losing mussel mass, not just fat mass. Mudding the water on if it's actually good for you.
You should just have a partnership with streaming already. Time for the Hammer channel 😂

That wasn’t a bad attempt at the medications Caleb. I do honestly as a physician wish you were not sponsored by that company though. It’s better to speak directly to your physician about the benefits or risks of such therapies as most of the drugs you mentioned are being used off label or as a secondary usage for weight loss. They all carry some degree of risk for other organ systems or for other issues to what they actually treat
Also, assuming you have health insurance, between your doctors visit and pharmacy prescription cost, all of those medication‘s are likely significantly less than $80 per month. You also don’t need to see your doctor more than once every six months in order to get a refill. I don’t think personally that it is a good financial deal. Metformin once upon a time was on the four dollar or free drug plan almost everywhere. Every single one of the meds you listed other than the GLP-1 agonist medications that you said this plan doesn’t cover anyway have been generic and have been dirt cheap for a long time. It is easier and cheaper just to get it from your doctor than it is to do this $80 per month plan. Even if you don’t have health insurance and have to pay a one time doctor bill of $100 or more once a year or every six months, it is still cheaper because those medications are such cheap ones at the pharmacy regardless of insurance. There just isn’t a world where paying $960 a year for the medications they are offering for weight loss makes any sense.
Billion Dollar company layoffs make literally 0 sense. The only answer is greed. That's literally it. You have more than enough money. You don't need to lay people off and ruin their lives over your own stupid greed.

I don't think people should jump in the prescription drug train, especially for weight loss. I do recommend noom. I lost 15 lbs in 3 months so far. Very easy and I'm learning a lot, which should help me not gain it back. $170 for a year is pretty sweet too.
