Dino Raiders was one of the best 80's toy lines. Amazing toys!
Dino-Riders was my favourite Toy and Cartoon as a kid. I had a number of them and I re-bought a few as an adult.
One of my childhood faves. Also I love these kinds of videos, I hope you keep making them.
I love Dino Riders. Great video.
I would love if we could somehow get a Dino-Riders in 6 inch scale, but I doubt it'll ever happen.
Love Dinoriders! Just got volume 2 on vhs last week 😎
Awesome figure line and it needs to come back
I loved this so much as a kid
I DID grow up to be a paleontologist. Can confirm. You DON'T do this if you're looking to make big money - HOWEVER, there ARE some positions which do pay pretty nicely - the catch is, a PhD is pretty much mandatory and the competition for any position is EXTREMELY high level - so unless you went to a top 3 university and had all the right connections, grades, etc, you're not getting that curator position at the American Museum of Natural History, for instance. That's reserved for the people who not only have a PhD but have the highest level connections to big names in he field. Trust me on that. But, I've made about $30/hour working on construction projects where I was there as the paleontologist, and I'd get sometimes 50, 60 hours a week ($1,800 a week) - BUT those jobs ALSO have downtime too when there's no projects. So. Yeah, it's a LONG educational path to a minimum of a Master's or PhD for less than you'd make going into programming or something without the need to get a PhD. HOWEVER. You can double major in geology AND paleontology and find jobs in both - and some geo jobs pay pretty well. Then you can just look for that curator or research position on the side until you get that.
Still, you're looking at 4 years for a Bachelor's, 1 to 3 for a Master's depending on the program (my Master's was a 2 year program, full-time), and on average 5 or 6 years to a PhD for a total of 11 to 12 years of total university education - so if you start at 18 right out of high school, expect to be close to 30 by the time you're even employable in any serious position in paleo.
That's WHY most will never ACTUALLY go into this field.
Anyway. I had Dino-Riders as a kid. NO idea how they got lost over the decades but I wish I still had them. I had Monoclonius, Quetzalcoatlus, I think Torosaurus and maybe the T. rex (or at least the same mould used on the T. rex). One day, I'd love to collect them again.
Man i had the trex and the triceratops. Got them for christmas one year bc i was hardcore into dinosaurs, just like every little boy in the late 80s lol.
Great video. Loved that toy line. Why doesn't Mattel do a kickstarter thing for a reissued walking t rex? I would sure be on board for that.
Awesome video and summary of my favourite toy line! Just beautiful toys for Dino lovers 🦖😎
Thank you
If Mattel wont do dino riders even if exclusives on mattelcreations like they do Motu Origins now... then license it out to Neca or Super7 etc. Had almost all the toys except never even saw the T-Rex in stores to even ask my mother or grandparents as a kid.. And somehow some way they just were gone out of my closet . My mother has mental issues and I ocd about cleaning is one of them and she's been known to throw stuff away without thinking or checking what it is so I think that was it but OH MY GERD Im even more upset now than back then with how much money these cost today.
I remember those dino rider minis. And didn't care for them. Especially since they were not in scale with other miniature lines that were out at the time. I do remember the whole set was like $60 or so dollars. But would've been nice if they had instead tried with the t-rex and triceratops, just without the electronics. Would've ordered both in a heartbeat.
Visited your store a few years ago when I was in ATL. Great store and you gave me some good deals. Nice to see you guys on TH-cam 💪
Awesome! Thank you!
@2ndChanceToys , I have a silly question where did you purchase those cabinets with the glass sliding door for your action figures and how much do they cost.
This is the kind of content I wanted from this channel. Good storytelling and analysis from an expert with personal connections. Good stuff.
Appreciate it!
Boy, oh boy, let me tell you about cyberzoic .
I would buy them for sure if they released a similar size modern variant. I also am not concerned about electronics. We couldn't afford the mas children, would love to own them now.
I REALLY hope Mattel (who owns the rights now) realizes what a gold mine they are sitting on with Dino-Riders and revives it, BUT only if they do a classic line with the EXACT moulds used for the originals, if they still exist. They could even do film deals. The Jurassic World thing is getting WAY over-milked, so it's time, I think, to look at Dino-Riders again.
ok here is the kick starter....dino riders figures and equipment packs so you can take modern Mettle Jurassic Park/World Dino's and make your own...really Mettle is ran buy morons if they cant put this kind of thing together themselves....... stretch goal to include motorization
Fun fact, the Toys Story T-rex is based on this one.
In the '80s, I could only afford a few so bought the big ones. I still have them. 😊
I will sum up DinoRiders in seconds. Back then... greatest toy that ever existed! You can end the video now. 😤
Best. Comment. Ever
How Do You all Feel Mattel Should Approach Modern Day Dino-Rider's?
It’d be awesome to see a more modern take on the dinosaurs themselves but to keep an homage to the old line with similar color schemes, armor, and figures. Kinda like what Neca did with the Aliens line.
I think the same scale as the current jurassic world toys... even use the dino molds.. full articulation like the current Jurassic world toys figures and dinos. That way also if you wanted to populate your display more you can just get more Jurassic world dinos.
the cyberzoic but cheaper, or aim it at adults with toys based on the original designs since i doubt the molds for the tyco line still exist. the problem is i know what they would do, take the jurassic molds tweek them a little and add armor/guns and a rider and charge 1.5 to 2X as much as the jurassic version.
I would say Dino-riders & StarCom have to be two of my favorite alternate collections. 😊
All Mattel needs to do is bring back Dinoriders as part of Jurassic Park
Cept disney owns dinoriders now last i heard. They were gona do a live action movie years ago but canceled it cuz of jurassic world
I had the T-Rex. Good times.
i didnt know any of this. very interesting
That's Why We are Here! Lol
Bring them all to Joe Fest Please
for the Most Part, Almost all of them will be,
There is one new thing coming that will compare with these similar but different. Cyberzoic Backer online. Beasts of the Mesozoic & Cenezoic.
Yea we seen those at JoeFest , Chance even bought their kickstarter Trex, based on the prototype colors of the Dino riders TRex that even included a box in that retro style, they were awesome
@@2ndChanceToys Great 😃
I haven’t done cyberzoic but I have a lot of the Raptors Tyrannosaur series and ceratopsians.
@Stormycloud21 they had one cyberzoic prototype there at JoeFest, I don’t think we got footage of it unfortunately
@@2ndChanceToys They got pictures and videos online of them. Cool 😎 to get to see in person before they are released.
It looks like you have multiples in your case, why not just a few of each, so there's room for different items?
This is Old Footage Now, We have already done that lol 😁
Show the dinosaurs bro
Our previous video has them out of the box
ok here is the kick starter....dino riders figures and equipment packs so you can take modern Mettle Jurassic Park/World Dino's and make your own...really Mettle is ran buy morons if they cant put this kind of thing together themselves....... stretch goal to include motorization
