( English, at the request of Chanelops ) Alba has grown older. It is the law of life. Those wonderful years as a child and adolescent in the Sant Andreu of maestro Chamorro are over, where she trained and became a star, almost without realizing it, as a jazz and bossa nova vocalist and trumpeter. Hundreds and hundreds of videos, of concerts, of parades, from the Palau to the Jamboree, from the Jazz House to the Bar Colombia. Those adorable duets with "the other" Alba, with Rita, with Joana, with Èlia... So much beauty, so much talent, so much sensitivity, so much magic...
But now, at just 21 years old (who would have thought, if she has spent two thirds of her life on stage) she is already flying alone, choosing her own vital and professional paths. And here we have her, at the head of her groups, duets, quartets, quintets or sextets, always with Vicente, her partner, sometimes with Marçal, now with Martí and Campisi, without ever lowering the very high level. And with the usual talent, taste, sensitivity, art and magic. It is a gift, you have it or you don't have it. And Alba has plenty.
Newcomer singer-songwriter with her own songs (with the collaboration of Vicente). Beautiful, how could it be less. For heady moments. His own, personal, non-transferable style, difficult to classify, to pigeonhole. In Spanish, in Catalan, in Portuguese, with that voice that caresses you, lulls you, wraps you in its arms and takes you to paradise... Sometimes it sounds like Jazz, but it comes and goes. Romantic song, yes, but not exactly. Bossa Nova, sure, but not too much. It's a bit of all that, but much more. And nothing in particular. It's just Alba.

As a fan it is easy to say well done, however, that isn't enough said with this collection of music... Alba's voice is wonderful, tender and clear with grand expression. The collaboration between Alba and Vicente has created a superb and brave album of song and music. Joan Marti's sax and flute adds a full and enjoyable balance to the music... the rhythm section is beyond wonderful, deserving applause, as does the whole production, lots of applause, encore!
Superb! Alba Armengou has steadily risen to the class of living female jazz vocalists that was previously only populated by Norah Jones.

I was very surprised today. I live in suburban Philadelphia, USA. i went to my local pharmacy and, on the store's sound system, I heard your recording of El senor misterioso! I could not determine who chose the store's play list but I would have liked to complement them on their goodtaste! It was no fluke, the next song was Diz que fui por ai. Alba, your songs are gaining some recognition here in the USA, whether or not you realizethis!

What Alba has shown so clearly here is that she isn't limited to jazz or bossa or any one medium -- her versatility and pure voice are just incredible! Bravo! I hope we will see her in New York at some point.

Beautiful young lady with an equally beautiful voice. Alba was my first singer I heard when I discovered the SAJB. I was knocked over by her talent at then such a young age. She is wonderful. She sings beautifully in English too‼️
muito interessante de acompanhar a alba desde pequeninha, tentando cantar em português brasileiro, e vendo a evolução dela, pouco a pouco a cada ano, junto com a banda do Joan Chamorro. Hoje em dia ela canta praticamente sem sotaque, a pronuncia dela é tão boa que algumas pessoas não notaria que ela não é brasileira. como brasileiro, me sinto muito honrado em ver que uma grande musicista como a alba tem tanto apreço pela música brasileira, e tanta dedicação em reproduzir com a maior perfeição possível, não só cantando bem, mas incorporando o espirito da música brasileira em sua voz e arranjos. Alba se nos ha hecho mayor. Es ley de vida. Ya pasaron aquellos maravillosos años de niña y adolescente en la Sant Andreu del maestro Chamorro, donde se formó y se hizo una estrella, casi sin darse cuenta, como vocalista y trompetista de Jazz y Bossa Nova. Cientos y cientos de videos, de conciertos, de pasacalles, desde el Palau al Jamboree, desde la Jazz House al Bar Colombia. Aquellos adorables dúos con "la otra" Alba, con Rita, con Joana, con Èlia ... Tanta belleza, tanto talento, tanta sensibilidad, tanta magia ...
Pero ahora, a sus escasos 21 años (quien lo diría, si lleva dos tercios de su vida comiéndose los escenarios) ya vuela sola, elige sus propios caminos vitales y profesionales. Y aquí la tenemos, al frente de sus grupos, dúos, cuartetos, quintetos o sextetos, siempre con Vicente, su pareja, a veces con Marçal, ahora con Martí y Campisi, sin bajar nunca el altísimo nivel. Y con el talento, el gusto, la sensibilidad, el arte y la magia de siempre. Es un don, se tiene o no se tiene. Y a Alba le sobra.
Cantautora debutante con sus propios temas (con la colaboración de Vicente). Preciosos, como no podía ser menos. Por momentos embriagadores. Estilo propio, personal, intransferible, difícil de catalogar, de encasillar. En español, en catalán, en portugués, con esa voz que te acaricia, te arrulla, te envuelve entre sus brazos y te lleva al paraíso ... A veces suena a Jazz, pero viene y se va. Canción romántica, sí, pero no exactamente. Bossa Nova, claro, aunque no demasiado. Es un poco de todo eso, pero mucho más. Y nada en concreto. Simplemente es Alba.

This is a really well balanced album. A nice amount of variation without drifting so much that it loses the consistency. I really liked the electric guitar and bass in Somnis and the saxophone in La Gavina and the up tempo vocal in Fato Consumado contrasting the slow tempo vocal in Luna. And even the cover graphic is excellent. Applause to you all.

These compositions sound very good. It's great to see this album being released, as Alba has always been my favorite vocalist from the Sant Andreu Jazz Band. If I ever win the lottery I'm going to provide cash for all the graduates of the SAJB to have the other graduates play on their records. These great songs from Alba and other great artists should be fully orchestrated from the get go!

Music, especially song needs to have been listened to one, five even forty-five times then perhaps you will come to understand the given efforts by the composer and artist. It is quite a pleasant surprise to hear that this talented vocalist is producing such fine work as she continues to evolve her artistry. The early development of her talent is paying great dividends, and evidently she is driven to continue the process. I hope to hear more, and soon, though I would be grateful to hear a return of a singular focus to the bossa nova form on a release soon to come. Her command of that music is amazing, and I truly love what I've previously heard of those performances so much.
