All my life, Martha Stewart was the gold standard in all things domestic. From decor, cooking, gardening, crafts...she held the blueprint like no other. My whole house was painted 30 years ago in Martha Stewart paint colors that complement each other...still love them & wont be changing them...thanks, Martha!

It is a great documentary. If Martha is upset it’s because she’s use to being in control plus a perfectionist! She’s driven, successful. Showing her past mistakes is good everyone has them.

Never a fan; but after watching the documentary, I absolutely respect and admire her. Is she a pill and a diva? I'm guessing, but above all she is a teacher who sought to raise the bar and reach as many people as she could. Every person is entitled to improvement and loveliness and good food and something nice in their life.

Like the way she glosses over her cheating because he didn't know. Why didn't she make her own doc and control it. She comes off smart and snotty. She came by her reputation as queen of mean honestly, and yes women are judged more harshly. But a mean boss does their damage male or female.

I saw the movie last evening and felt very inspired by it because it showed me what qualities and skills one needs to have to be able to successfully navigate situations of extreme adversity with confidence and grace. I feel I have not been able to do this in my own life, but would very much like to. My favorite part was when she had a party with the ladies at the prison and cucumber sandwiches were served. And - I thought the limp was her walking through the garden on a cold fall morning. I thought nothing of it.

I do agree the film/documentary focused far too long on the trial - which I finally found I had to skip past portions of & too little time on her building the magazine when at Time/Warner & too little time in her creating Martha Steward Omnimedia & then too little time on her return to her company & those challenges: the sale of her brand to a marketing conglomerate was only glanced over. This woman essentially built a brand that still has relevance even if it has dimmed a bit & honestly I think the company which controls her brand doesn't really understand what they purchased & the power of that brand. There is still a definitive documentary to be made about Martha Steward. I think the filmmaker dropped the ball not to point out the obvious misogny of James Comey by mentioning his involvement in undermining another powerful woman - Hillary Clinton. What the documentary only really floats over is the deep sexism of the world Martha Stewart navigated her way through & is still navigating her way through. Martha deserves a more comprehensive documentary.

I thought it was good. I admire her far more now than I did before. She is an amazing person and so much of what we all take as normal today, she brought it into being the only way. Renovations, repurposing, enjoying the processes, enjoying food and the preparation and prevention of sharing it with family and friends. Would any of the people on HGTV exist today if not for her? Food Network? Most definitely I say no! She has given us permission to not do everything like everyone else. Most have become a paper plate and plastic fork generation. Never in my house, thanks to Martha.

Even in recent days she made an uncalled for , unkind comment that Ryan Reynolds’s isn’t funny in real life.
