  • In this clip from 2009, Hulk Hogan and Nasty Boy Brian Knobbs are in studio answering questions and Hogan shares his thoughts on the Montreal Screwjob with Bret Hart, Vince McMahon & Shawn Michaels.
    The Montreal Screwjob took place on November 9th, 1997 during the main event WWF Championship match between Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels in which Vince McMahon was present at ringside watching the match when Shawn Michaels put Bret Hart in the Sharpshooter and McMahon screamed at the ref to ring the bell and Michaels was awarded the WWF Championship and Bret Hart was on his way out of the company heading to then rival WCW.

      the f*cking cheek. People complain about Triple H and Brock Lesnar reigns of terror but Hogan in WCW was just as bad, if not worse. Go look up the WCW championship after Hogan got won it in 1996 (even when he got there un 1994 if you want) Comically bad stuff. from that match at havoc 1996 with mach which was a blood feud but the match itself was just comedy stuff. Starrcade 96 Roddy Piper won, he actually beat Hogan...then you find out it was a non title match. he barely defended it in 1997 until the 4th quarter of the year. Loses it to Luger in a great moment and immediately wins it back 6 days later. The entire starrcade 97 fiasco. where the belt had to get vacated. sting won it at super brawl (still wasnt clean) had it for literally 3 months (compare the to Hogan having it for a total of almost 2 years) loses it to Randy Savage because of Kevin Nash who then immediately loses it to Hogan the next night. It wasnt until July 1998 he finally put someone over clean for the championship. At least Bret Hart was justified in his refusal to lose the belt to Shawn in canada. Hogan was just selfish. what a c*nt.

Bret was one of the greatest pure athletic talent to ever step in the ring and for this jabroni that knows 4 moves and a "hulk" up to throw shade at him is classic trash hogan. And hindsight being 20/20 it would have been better to pay bret and give him the 20 year deal and let the feud continue, as we all know now shawn would self destruct not long after. Imagine the matches we could have had, more austin Bret, the rock and bret, even more shawn and bret. Bret was a unique talent that could have a great match with almost anyone and get them over. Yeah well it was him saying what he had to say but the bottom line is he did it because that little douche said he would never return the favor and Bret should have been honest about it, but wasn't. For anyone to question his commitment let's not forget he wanted to stay and agreed to stay for less short term gain to show how loyal he was to Vince and then Vince reneged on a done deal because Shawn blew him better than Linda ever could.

    They’re missing the point … again. Bret has stated numerous time on record that it wasn’t about losing the belt in Montreal. He originally offered to lose the title to Michaels, but he changed his mind after his rival responded with a derogatory comment.
    One source is WWE Network show Broken Skull Sessions. Quote: “I have no problem putting you over, I have no problem dropping the title to you or doing anything you want.’ And the big problem between me and Shawn started right there. And he said, ‘I appreciate that, but I just want you to know that I’m not willing to do the same thing for you.”
    Witnesses were Jim Neidhart and Ken Shamrock.
    Michaels’ comment prompted Hart to tell McMahon that he was not prepared to drop the World Championship to somebody who would not do the same thing for him.
    McMahon then went to get Shawn and when he returned with him, Shawn said to Bret how much he appreciated doing the favors for him. That Vince told Shawn that made Bret stick even more by his guns. He was willing to lose the title the next day on RAW to Michaels after he proved he was willing to do the favors for him. And keep in mind, Bret agreed to a no contest. so Shawn could have a no contest in Montreal and a win over Bret the very next day!
    Throughout the years Bret’s story never changed. Unlike others.
    Bret also said to Shawn that he would always be safe when working with him.
    The only one who has incorporated this piece of the pie in his story in recent times is Jim Cornette.

    Hogan refused not only tons of jobs but to also work with people to be talking. Plus this has to be old because bret stated while on wrestling with shadows and the lockerroom had the inwuiry that he just did't want to drop the belt because he was in canada, it really had nothing to do with that. He wasn't dropping to shawn period because bret tried to bury the hachet, shake shawns hand told him he'll be happy to drop the title and that he was safe with him, shawn said hes glad bret felt that way but he would NOT do the same for him.
    For hogans sake bret has dogged him and still dogs him every chance he gets. Hogan hasn't said much. Now hogan is just clapping back now. But for bret hogan done left the company not wanting to job to him. Hell bruce prichard admitted they did the video shoot if the tug o war for the wwf title in florida. Its in the archives as their summerslam poster was too. Hogans a clown. Wcw went down under cause of the finger poke of doom. Nobody wanted to see him on top as champion no more. Smh. Bret was dealt a bad hand in wcw.

    Hulk Hogan is the real nr 1. Bret Hart was always jealous of Hulkster already back in 80's because he thought he was supposed to be the nr 1, because he's arrogant Canadian. Hulkster should've swapped the belt with Ultimate Warrior throughout the 90's until they both retire. Instead both were destroyed in 1991 and WWF went downhill for 10 years.

Bret leaves the arena with his last comment to the camera being, "You know WHERE to find ME."

  • @MichaelCharles2011
    @MichaelCharles2011 ปีที่แล้ว

    It all begins and ends with the fact that Vince gave Bret creative control over his character for his final 60 days. Vince was wrong, period. Hogan is wrong, as usual.
    And as if that wasn’t enough, it’s not like Bret’s contract expired at midnight. He was contracted until at least the end of the month. And Bret offered to drop the belt tons of times prior to SS to the likes of Vader, Austin, and Taker, but Vince wouldn’t go for it. Make no mistake, it’s all on Vince.
