I think each of our journeys and what sparks joy is very personal to us. Cullen doesn't need to justify how many shirts he kept and didn't keep. He got rid of so much things and everything that he kept now has a proper home. What an amazing job you both did with your clothes! Excited to see more!!

This is such a nice closet, he did really well! I live in France so we don't have big houses and big closets like you guys do, so I have less stuff and of course, to me, what you guys have seems like a lot. But the progress between the start and the results there, for tbe both of you, is amazing! Well done guys! I have found that konmari-ing my clothes did make me realise further down the track that there were still things that didn't bring me any joy. Plus, with a big move a month ago, it was all motivation for me to let go of some things, and I'm glad I did. And I still see things I won't keep (I'm just waiting to lose some weight before getting rid of them). I love it!
I enjoy your videos. I noticed the the wooden draws gave a faint scraping noise when they were opened. I suggest that you rub a candle along the bottom edges/runners and you will find they glide on the wax, making the draw experience even better.
I actually cut out a clip of me saying "Ooo, you need some of that lube on these drawers!" hahaha We have a stick (probably similar to candle wax) that's made just for that purpose. Need to apply it! -K
Cullen did an awesome job! My closet is 90% t-shirts too, so I actually hang mine up since I have a pile of hanging space and very few actual drawers, so they get saved for pj's and undergarments

I just binged watched your and your husbands closet purges ! Omg goodness !! I can't believe y'all had so much shoes & clothes- it was enough to clothe another couple !! Congratulations into your new life and learning you don't need all that "stuff" if you can't use it all or it doesn't spark joy . I started my process 7 years ago when I went to college . I had so much "stuff " and I got rid of a good deal and again through the years and especially after having my son 4 years ago I just felt I was drowning . Now we all have one weeks worth of clothes and it's made my life so much easier ! I seriously do about 7 loads of laundry at the end of the week not including bedding, of coarse that will change as my kids get bigger and their clothes will take up more space, but its great not to have to do a load every day to keep up.

start slowly sneaking things out that he hasn't worn in decades .That's what my grandma did - grandpa was a hoarder . Unfortunatly my grandma didn't manage to get alot out and then she passed, my grandfather a decade later. My poor aunt had a whole house to get stuff out of. Please please for the love, dont leave your children with useless stuff that isn't valuable to you. just leave them with photos, journals, the good furniture, good jewelry and silverware.

I’ve been binging all these videos! Getting a lot of inspo to do my own version of the konmari method! I’m still living at home and plan on moving out within the next 2 months or so and I would love to get organized now and not bring clutter into my new home 😩 I am off Friday so Thursday night I will be cleaning out my closet and getting rid of clothes!!

I have not done this particular method, but I have been in the process of decluttering my clothes for probably a year. It started last Christmas (I normally go through my clothes around November anyway). Then we found out we were moving so I went through my clothes then. Then when I unpacked. And about three months later I did so again. I have just gone through my clothes again, this time focusing on my hanging clothes. I will have to wait until my laundry is done to finish, and I have to try several items on. While I am trying to loose weight when it comes to dress pants (the biggest section of clothes I need to try on) I think I would rather just buy new as I do believe all my dress pants were purchased before I was pregnant with my oldest, so at least eight years. But I have been watching your videos in between going through drawers and starting laundry as a way to keep me motivated! But yeah, you will find that you are not wearing things that should be more every day wear and you are going to want to get rid of it.
You all are so freaking awesome! I started doing the Konmari method last night my friends helped me I still have a few more things to do but we are getting there! I think my friend took 4 bags to Grace's it's a thrift store.

Great job! You should check out the Minimal Mom here on YT. While I don't think I could be as minimal as she is, she encourages you to think of the stuff in your house as inventory you have to manage. It's an interesting perspective.
