- What was supposed to be a weekend project actually turned into 3..
I am slowly transforming my home one thrift trip at a time but today I wanted to tackle an easy project (or at least what I thought would be easy). This boring wall was begging for a makeover. So with a little DIY magic, a trip to a thrift store, and a look through of my thrifted home decor, it had a dramatic transformation! I am in love! It is probably one of my favorite makeovers so far and every thrifted piece that is in that space seems like it was made to be there. After I put on the final trim piece it will be completely done! I was so eager to design the space that I couldn't wait for the trim piece to dry so I could put it on. Even without it I still think it looks good. It's not perfect (as I am not a professional) but still has to be one of my favorite projects ever! Let me know your thoughts though!

Looks just like a paddle the principal had in the office when I was a child. And he had another one with holes drilled in it. If you was really bad you got a paddling with the holes. He would make the boys stand in the study hall and hold their ankles while he paddled them in front of everyone

Just found your channel. I am also into vintage cottage. I love the basket! I found some pretty cloth napkins and I set them into baskets and hang the corners out for a rustic look. That may be a nice way to cover up the green at the bottom and keep things clean as you can take the napkin out and wash it.

Hi Rachel, just found your channel and love your style. You could spray the copper bowl with Rustoleum matte clear to dull it down a bit if you find it too shiny. Also, the needlepoints might pop a bit more with the frames painted a colour like an off white or a sagey green (just a tad brighter than your painted woodwork would be my pick). You did an amazing job! Looking forward to more.
