- Wow, the prices at this one thrift store gave me an idea for a video.. Maybe we should do a thrift store challenge? Let's compare the hauls of cheap thrift store thrifting vs. expensive thrift store thrifting! To my surprise I found so many good items in both hauls. While I expected that much from the expensive store, I was really happy about the haul from cheap thrift store thrifting! What are your thoughts on today's thrift haul? Should this be an ongoing series on this channel? Let me know your thoughts and comment any more video ideas that you have!

I would have paid that for the mirror. Prices are going up BUT that’s unique! I always ask myself will I find it anywhere else, will I have a perfect spot for it and have I been looking for one. It definitely has to meet my expectations and criteria. You have a great eye for treasures!
Such a great way to look at it!! I think weighing the pros and cons for those kinds of pieces definitely helps when you are on the fence about something
34.99 is high for a thrift store but you made the right decision. That is a beautiful piece.

The mirror is stunning, so on trend and a great price. Good thrift store pricers keep up with the trends and price accordingly. They will price an item like that for the every day consumer while trying to cut out the reseller. My church thrift store knows what their stuff is worth and that thrift store is always crowded because they have great stuff.
Yes I agree. I think this goodwill is really doing their research on the items they see coming in too.
You did good on the mirror…don’t overthink the price.. $34 is a good deal for those style mirrors..we expect thrift stores to be less expensive because they are overturned items but..think of the item…compared to what it can retail as new…paying up on a rare item that you come across when thrifting can make up for it when you score on others items that are less…those mirrors average $99 on up…keep up the good thrifting,..😊 1
That golden mirror was definitely worth $35 ! That style of mirror is in right now and the price you paid was great (and I am frugal) 😁

Mirrors are expensive, even for plain ones. I think you got a good deal on your beautiful one. Question about the hand painted picture, to me it looked like wisteria. I would have hung it upside down from how you were holding it. Did the artist have a hanger on the back?
No they didn’t but there was writing and it was upside down so I think you are right with the way it’s supposed to be hanging on the wall!

This was a very informative video. I liked everything you found. The brass bowl was gorgeous and definitely a splurge, but I feel splurges ar part of thrifting if they give you an emotionl response. In my experience those emotional items are often my long time loves. However I think the art you found in the cheap thrifting was a fabulous find and could bee long time lovs as well.

I’m somewhat local to you and I agree about thrift/vintage stores getting pricey. I was just in the Finger Lakes region and most prices were kind of ridiculous. To be fair though that is a touristy area.
Yes this particular thrift store ebbs and flows but lately they have gotten higher in price again.
Thrift stores are not helping the public anymore just all profit for them.
It's a business like any other. Gotta pay overhead.
No old mirror in that condition are in demand. The price you paid was very reasonable. Actually it was on low end. I am from Sweden

That green picture looks like it is warping. S9.99 was too much for that. $34 for that mirror was too much and I probably would not have bought it.
Most our thrift stores are very pricy according to what they were a couple years ago,, so the prices you paid are about the same as here . I would definitely have paid that for the mirror because it’s a nice one and here it would have been probably 50 or more.
True, I was thinking that if it was sold somewhere else it could have easily been double than what I paid

I just finished your video and I have noticed thrift stores popping up in my area are similar to consignment shops, except they aren’t. They’re just priced high, unfortunately. Most of them claim to go towards church programs, homeless shelters and domestic women centers like mutual ground and I have to trust they do and some I know do fund these programs. So I’d like to think it’s going towards a good cause! Currently I’m on my way to Kane county flea market! Let’s see if I find any treasures decently priced lol

It's a beautiful mirror but yes it's to expensive u could have bought one new for that when u thrift show u are paying for something.old people don't pay those prices some of those items been donated for free if people stop thrifting they would have to come down as long as we keep going alone with what they want they will keep raising there prices take a stand an say no more will I give my money away you find beautiful items

U Definitely paid to much. Paying that much defeats the whole purpose of thrifting. Could probably get it for that price In a antique shop. My favorite goodwill went crazy with their prices so I had to start going else where, even if I had to drive just a little further. I use to work for goodwill and 35 for a vintage mirror is priced very high. I hear goodwill is now trying to be like a Walmart In pricing. It’s getting ridiculous. Love your videos ❤

I think you got a great price on the mirror! Gold trimmed mantle mirrors tend to be minimally $60 at stores like Walmart. Anyway, it’s gorgeous! ❤

You over paid. There is no reason for their stuff to be that high. It is price gouging. Most of their stuff is donated.
