I work on these dafs and I would love to meet the guy that designed the EGR and adblue system plus what ever guy come up with that little green and red plug under the steering wheel cover,, all I need is 5 minutes with the 2 guys maximum
If i'm not mistaken wasnt it PACCAR that saved DAF Trucks from going into complete extinction? They sacrificed Foden Trucks so DAF Trucks could have an opportunity to become Europe's #1 Truck Manufacturer as well as in Sales & Service. Why do you think a lot of companies in the UK that operated Foden 4000/Alpha Series Trucks sold off and replaced them with DAF CF/XF units? As much as I hated seeing PACCAR bringing Foden to a close, they have every right to put their nameplate on DAF products.
MultiArrie , hi I need some knowledge about this trucks, which is the best truck to buy for African tough weather conditions. I like the Daf truck, but am told Actros 3340 is more strong than the XF, kindly enlighten me so that I can make the best choice for my business.
That a product has the name of the owner is an typical American thing to do. Dutch companies invested quit some money in the US, but kept the American names. Employees worked many years on a product of their brand. They are proud, so let them be and don't change the name.

If you work on these you should know the XF105 doesn’t have an EGR system.

how big was Foden outside the UK. btw Daf engines were leyland build in license.

Maybe because in 1996 paccar acquired DAF? If you own it why not have your name on it? Kinda like the whole Ford/Mazda thing.
