Excellent points Tony. I'm in the UK, and although we get the products a bit before you do in Oz, the price difference in the UK versus USA and Canada is ridiculous for us too. That said, the TW Precision Platelet is currently around £22.00 on the British Amazon Prime (inc. Hi great video as always. I'm planning on using this followed by the graphene TW spray. Do I need to use alcohol wipe? Also what is the best pad for a cut and a decent finish.
Super smooth machine. I'm no expert but i like sandro's general polishing suggestions, from down under. That you should work your section area in this case about 6x the size of your pad for 90-120sec. I found that with my slow style i easily ate up 90 seconds on the panel with just 3 passes. Of course this is not set in stone. But its more then enough on my toyota. Its my test standard that i use first.

I have one question regarding the compound/polishing stage, after using a Dual Action polisher on the vehicle paintwork is it best to use IPA based products to wipe down residue as opposed to buffing off residues and then use IPA?

Shame, but I have to vote with my wallet when a company takes the mick. £/$ equivalents we see frequently, up but what an uplift this time. I’m oot!
Great video. What was the Flex forced rotation polisher w/battery you were using? I have one & done. Don’t mind doing 2 step. Would I get just as good results with this instead of getting the Koch set up? Thanks
@@ForensicDetailing Hi Jon! Took the plunge and bought the in2detailing DA15 and Scholl S20. Followed your videos for beginners and got really good results... one slight issue is that after about half hour maybe 40 minutes, it was almost as if there was water coming off the pad and the polish was starting to dry out on the panel rather quickly... any idea what I could be doing wrong? (Using orange hex logic pad)
@@user-fz9ej6ch3d and you were getting the polish deposits sticking on the surface right? this can happen with S20. when that happens switch out to a totally new pad. so the used polish in the pad is actually mixed with clearcoat and the more used polish build up you get the drier and more stick the component becomes. soft pads are also more prone to releasing the spend polish onto the surface.
That could be their problem. Lately they released some decent products which have undercut the competition by a significant amount. There are plenty of people who aren’t going to pay the same money for Turtle Wax when they can get polishes from Sonax, Koch Chemie and Menzerna etc. You mentioned Perfect Finish which is one of the best polishes on the market used by high end professionals all over the world. It’s a brave move to take the very best on tie to toe. There is brand snobbery plus brand loyalty that Turtle Wax possibly will have to over come. Fortunately TW is sold everywhere and will be discounted before long.
I always feel there’s a real danger of sounding patronising when commenting on someone’s work (I think I might have said that the last time I commented) anyhow, just wanted to say well done mate! Great video and congrats on the sponsorship, good for you, you said you’d do more of it in 2021 (sponsored videos that is) and you have. Good luck on the journey buddy, I hope you get those, right for you offers, flooding in.
I’ve just got a new car John. It’s black. I’ve a week booked off work at the end of March to buff it. Should I protect the paint or not ? Is there much point in applying an lsp?
I can't help but wonder if the user would find it difficult to maintain the same level of cut over all panels...considering the fact not all the panels allow for the same amount of leverage to be placed on the machine
Love the videos! Very concise, thank you. Couple questions, I’m going to be doing my first paint correction using the 1 and done. Minor to medium swirls. Going to use a medium cutting pad. Should I be doing a second run with a finishing pad afterwards?
Only if the finish is not as you want. But the aim with one and done is really one set only. You can do more but it becomes less efficient. If you are getting machine induced marring on soft paint then step down to a softer pad. If you need more cut step up.
P.s. I honestly think they are pricing the enthusiasts out of the market for this product. £30 for 473mls? Fair enough if you do a lot of correction work. But for your average guy who wants to (and really should) only machine his car once a year, the lack of a smaller option, say 200mls or something, might be a deal breaker for many. I have to admit that is a big selling point for Sonax PF there. It might not cut as well as this? But you also don't need to have hundreds of mls of product sitting on a shelf for years and going out of date either. Just a thought. Maybe you could pass it back to TurtleWax as feedback.
@@ForensicDetailing that would be fantastic if they do. I think a lot more people would be willing to take the jump on a smaller bottle. And the word of mouth aspect is priceless.
I don't have a machine polisher and I currently use Meguiar's Ultimate Compound by hand to fix minor scratches, swirls, and even some pollen stains recently. Would this be a better choice since I'll now get the polishing benefit?
Thank you. It is an arduous task doing it by hand, though. When the bottle runs out, is what I meant. Because right now, I'm not polishing. I do use Bead Maker, though.
I am new at paint correction. Do you use a finishing pad to just buff the surface or do you use something like liquid wax, etc, with the finishing pad?
If you go to the effort of machine polishing then this is the stage before a sealant. Dealing with something like a Ceramic coating like carpro cquarts U.K. and carpro gliss will give you years of protection. You can use a wax but your looking at a few Months if your lucky.
So you do car with this, water rinse or a chemical? Can I then put my Maguire's blue spray ceramic on it or is there more to it. Sorry, never tried polishing, Have lots of nice gear, just no idea. Really helpful video as you always do :)

@@ForensicDetailing thank you once again for the reply Jon! Will get some more pads on order. You the man 😎
Thanks for this review John!
I suggest you don't use pressure with is only going to increase heat but change pads. Great product used properly.
Which is better, the ceramic or pro? Whats the difference?
I noticed this is now on the UK Turtle Wax website. A bit surprised at the £30 price tag for a TW product but they were good results for a one step.
250ml perfect finish is £17 in the UK. This is a direct competitor and is undercutting pricing, 500ML @ £30 is good value for money.
Hi was this done with a lake country pad by any chance
I’ve just got a new car John. It’s black. I’ve a week booked off work at the end of March to buff it. Should I protect the paint or not ? Is there much point in applying an lsp?
I know it’s a year later. But after using this product. You still need to put a protectant on it, correct? Like a ceramic
Yes m8
Love the intro😂
Great demo mate think I’ll give it a try !
I think feedback like this is great. they read this stuff and they do listen.
@@ForensicDetailing that would be fantastic if they do.
I think a lot more people would be willing to take the jump on a smaller bottle.
And the word of mouth aspect is priceless.
Im using rotary machine, what pad should i use? Should i do 1 or 2 step?
Follow tw pad system if in doubt M8. Orange foam is safe bet
For 1-2 step polishing is this your favorite?
I don't have a machine polisher and I currently use Meguiar's Ultimate Compound by hand to fix minor scratches, swirls, and even some pollen stains recently. Would this be a better choice since I'll now get the polishing benefit?
If u have megs UC you don't need this as well
Thank you. It is an arduous task doing it by hand, though. When the bottle runs out, is what I meant. Because right now, I'm not polishing. I do use Bead Maker, though.
Interesting to see what you think of Scholl S20 Black vs One & Done.....could it be the new champion?
I am new at paint correction. Do you use a finishing pad to just buff the surface or do you use something like liquid wax, etc, with the finishing pad?
If you go to the effort of machine polishing then this is the stage before a sealant. Dealing with something like a Ceramic coating like carpro cquarts U.K. and carpro gliss will give you years of protection. You can use a wax but your looking at a few Months if your lucky.
Have you ever used this with the Eurofiber 50-50 pad?
No m8
would you mind doing a small bit of variation testing on soft through medium through hard clear paint finishes??
defo gonna test it out more later in the year in a best of serious with single stage products.
@@ForensicDetailing wicked mate, looking forward to it!!
Very good! Thank you.
How aggressive would this be with a Euro Fiber pad vs a medium Orange pad?
Hard to quantify m8 but yes the fiber pad should cut a lot more
So using S20 black as a benchmark how does this compare
we will do a video on this comparing lots of single stage products. s20, PF, F6, etc etc..
@@ForensicDetailing This is also my question so will look forward to finding out. Cheers
Hi, is there a difference between 1 & Done vs the Ceramic acrylic black polish?
yes mate the ceramic aryclic is more of a pigmented all in one product with fillers... 1 and done is a pure abrasive compound.
Looks great but shame it’s £30 in uk and $22 in USA!
So you do car with this, water rinse or a chemical? Can I then put my Maguire's blue spray ceramic on it or is there more to it. Sorry, never tried polishing, Have lots of nice gear, just no idea. Really helpful video as you always do :)
see detailing fundamental playlist on the home page mate and have a watch of the poliushing guides there
