In this video, I have explained about the colleges to prefer for GME , fees structure and salaries for the rank of marine Engineer in merchant navy ships. This video will be much useful especially for the people who want to join shipping who have pursued earlier with other engineering degrees and wants to know what kind of jobs and their salaries that are available in merchant cargo ships.

Greetings from MSC Training department ( India) , Kindly pass on below information to all officers and crew.
We are pleased to announce GME selection program 2023 from MSC India.
The eligibility requirements for the candidates are:
Age below 27 yrs as of 16 Oct 2023,
Candidate has to have completed BE/Btech in mechanical engineering ( combined fields with mechanical first are also eligible )
OR BE/B Tech in Naval Architecture (combined fields with Navel Arch first) are also eligible
Mechanical and Automation, Mechanical and Electronics, Mechanical and Automobile, Btech Marine ( non dg approved) OR Degree in Naval Architecture and Ocean Engg or Naval Architecture and Shipbuilding are OK. ( with 60 % overall )
Score greater than 60 % in Final year in BTech mechanical engineering or other above mentioned courses from AICTE approved college,
Score greater than 50 % in English in 10th or 12th
Those who have already done GME course or Btech Marine course are not eligible, ( except Btech Marine non dg approved are eligible)
Selected candidates will have to undergo medical test as per DG requirements ,
Selected candidates will have to undergo one year GME course from company approved institute,
Cost of fees for the course is approx. Rs 5.65 lacs which has to be borne by the candidate,
Company will only give job sponsorship and that is subject to successful completion of course satisfactorily and candidate maintaining his medical fitness.
Candidate should be Indian National.
Female candidates are encouraged to apply.
Eligible candidates have to register on apply.registernow.in/MSC/GME23/ latest by 15th Sept, 2023.
Additionally Reference candidates send their CVs mentioning exam user id with attached recommendation letter from the concerned officer/ crew mentioning the relation with candidate to gme@msccs.com
Online Exam date is 21st and 22nd Sept 2023.
Only shortlisted candidates will be informed about the interview.

Try samudra institute of maritime studies bro coz ull get placed there from own shipping company named ESM shipping… but the location is not in tamilnadu.. it’s in Lonavala, Maharashtra…. Being a seafarer u should learn to stay distant , still if u want to learn here in TN then try giving AP molar exam in amet if u get placed then it’s good.. if not better choose samudra

Yes bro.. u can … but ur bca degree doesn’t do anything with maritime field… but if u wanna go to deck side I would prefer u to choose DNS course which is of yr duration..

None of the shipping company asks money to join bro... It's just a game played by the third person so called agents.. so deal with them carefully while handling cash... Try to approach as many company as possible, if no other option to join, try to analyse him deeply and bargain make sure he joins u in a very good company. Otherwise everything is of no use...

For marine engineering, yes it’s acceptable .. but u can’t enter into deck side… I.e nautical department

Even in 2009 I didn’t get placed from my college as there’s no placement provided from college.. later I got placed from outside with my mere hardwork..
