- The producer collective, Working On Dying, current members include F1lthy, BNYX, Oogie Mane, Brandon Finessin, FaxOnly, and Loosie Man. Yun Forza was once part of the group before being kicked out due to selling unreleased songs. The group first gained traction after they produced songs for artists such as Lil Peep, Lil Tracy, Goth Money and Matt Ox. After this, they would get noticed by the mainstream. Where they would start producing tracks for Drake, Lil Uzi Vert, Playboi Carti, Juice WRLD and Yeat.

Who's the best producer from Working On Dying?
Update: Apologies for missing out on Bladees Tape with them and Five Finger Posse. I made a video about F1lthy where I talked about them.
F1lthy Video: th-cam.com/video/jU66HObpwgU/w-d-xo.html
forza when forza was doin tread shi
Bnyx for sure
Forza no question
Forza with the tread
oogie
Not mentioning their self titled tape with bladee is a crime
agreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed
literally so pissed about this
I was legit looking for this in the comments. NIGHTMARE IN KNIGHTSBRIDGE
was boutta comment this
BECAUSE BLADEE FUCKING SUCKS
That’s crazy I didn’t know it was a collective that had F1lthy and BYNX
niga pays no attention at all
Same I thought working on dying was just a producer
New gen
@@Undercoverjeanss bru I just listen to music I’m not a researcher 😂
man oogie mane and F1LTHY were probably some of my favorite prods back in 2016. miss the tread era so much
it’s crazy to see how long f1lthy has been in the game and yet he’s only just getting the recognition he deserves
I remember listening to them in high school and watching their TH-cam videos because I think that was the only way I could hear some of their songs. I was so proud to have found something so unique and secret. I never thought people would appreciate them enough to let them get this big, but I’m happy about it.
@@planetxtk7567proud or fortunate. pride comes from entitlement and we’re not entitled to the things we discover
hasnt he been doin stuff since die lit and got recognition for it?
@@hypnaxtic yeah but he hasn’t been really mainstream since whole lotta red dropped
@@ripeyeblind yeah i guess
Producers need as much recognition as artists
Great video! But how u goin to forget mentioning WORKING ON DYING by Bladee in 2017, big moment for WOD
Unfortunately I did, I explained why in an update in the pinned comment. Apologies.
we love bladee!!
@2fresh bladee stans trying not to call other fans newgen (impossible edition)
@2fresh 😭😭 the fuck
you can mention something that went under the radar in the past but that has became important over time
With your logic no on can mention or praise albums like lets say Velvet Undergrounds self titled that took 20 years to gain attraction and respect and today it’s considered one of the most important records ever
Seems to me u just tryna prove your a “old gen” fan 😂
this channel is criminally underrated for the production quality
fax
You forgot “Wake Up Lucki” in 2021. I think that helped introduce them (mainly F1LTHY) to a different audience as well.
Working on dying were working with Lucki before that already
@@domikowskii Yeah I know but i don’t think many people knew that or even payed attention in that little space till then. because around that time was when lucki was getting bigger thanks to tiktok, but that’s just my opinion.
I understand where you’re coming from but I wanted the video to show WOD’s progress into the mainstream. By the time that 2021 track with Lucki released F1lthy already blew up from Carti’s WLR.
My favorite project
@@domikowskii “ OPTIONS “ 🤧🔥🔥🔥🔥 that beat literally sums up his whole style
Love this video, sad you didn't include 5 finger posse in the tread era. they're the whole reason i even knew about WoD back in 2016/2017. That whole tread era hella inspired me to start making beats, so unique compared to anything ive heard
That’s one of the main reasons this video was handled completely wrong
He did sample the tread it up vid with them in it tho at least
@@ogarrt that makes it worst that means he was one step away from thoroughly doing his research but decided not to
@@northphillyk4176 fr trap lore liam needs to hang it up
i agree ode
goes to show how long it takes to hone your craft and time it takes to see huge results aswell as master whatever your doing.
Facts 🫡
I love Working on dying and miss the five finger posse era but I’d say SGP the most influential artist and producer of this generation and working on dying and a lot of other current artists are branched off of him
As much as i hate spaceghostpurpp, i have to agree.
yeah bro shits actually crazy
Raider Klan, Lil B, Soulja boy, and Chief Keef. Almost anyone in the last 10 years has influence from one of these guys/groups.
@@product_of_august 36 aswell
2024 I’m bringing back tread
Your production and editing is too good to not get recognition. Subscribed and invested in your channel 🔥
They literally collab with only mainstream i wish they would collab w more underground artist like Devstacks, Jaydes, Stash Guapo, Che, Xhuloo & that who new soundcloud wave coming up rn, it would be so fuckin fireeeeeeee 🔥
Keep it up my man, I'll check in for other videos
Tha production SCREAMS couple hundred k followers, great quality content bruh. Also thanks for sum new shi people aren’t doing
sooo under rated fr fr i hope u grow on yt bro
It's crazy to think that more than half of the songs I listen to are produced by these guys
It’s was good seeing them grow over the years man. Blackkray delivered on their beats to well, good times.
Oogiemane honestly the most underrated to this day
Honestly super well put together 👏🏼 I'm usually skeptical of these kinda videos but I'm glad you highlighted Black Kray and his role in the spreading the WOD sound great docu 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
sad how he never got any fame as well, I love kray
I must say this is very well put together
been saying they’re the new 808 Mafia for quite some time now. they introduced a wave that spanned countless artist and diverse beats throughout the collective
a few names were missing from this like 5 finger crew, bladee and chxpo , its a shame what happened with forza i liked the stuff he did with yung mojo , funny enough he sold me a tred production pack for the low , made some kool beats with it , the main 808 they used still goes hard
Bladee esp fr there was a whole WOD tape
bro ong how did he miss 5 finger posse smh
Yeah not mentioning 5FP is ridiculous
Yo can you send me that pack bro?
wifigawd too
Amazing video. They really came out da mud
you didn’t even speak a lick about bladee and the WOD album😭 wtf
@2fresh why are you this pressed over bladee lmfao
@2fresh bladeee greatest rapper of all time
who?
@2fresh bruh no way WOD tape goes crazy 😂 cherry bracelets is incredible
@@sammckean thats my favorite off the album

very insightful 🔥 awesome stuff
only the real ones kno about the line "oogie mane he killed it"
GOOOOOD ASSSS VIDEO LOVE THIS WORK KEEEP IT UP !
this video was fire!🔥
What’s crazy is this nigga is so integrated into the scene that I’ve never seen the words “working on dying” written any damn where until just now but as soon as I saw it I knew exactly what this was about😭
needed to talk more about five finger posse, insanely important in the tread scene
Amazing video❤
THIS IS FIRE I LUV THIS VID
i was cheesin the entire time watching this fr brought back so many memories of the underground era in 2014-2017 ....best era of music in the past 15 years easily
Amazing video
great video you deserves more recognition
Much Love, means a lot
i remember them making songs for bladee and matt ox😂
overwhelming is a classic
Backstreet boys by bladee and kray the hardest
Overwhelming was literally the first time I ever heard of working on dying😭
Great video sir!
u talm bout real music history gang appreciate ts🤞🏽💸
Proud of them 🙏
its crazy watching a video on WOD where theres information and facts i didnt know when literally 2016-2018 i knew more about the scene than anybody and was putting my friends onto tread and there wasnt any video essays out there about it and five finger posse was the biggest thing in the unda
Great video bro keep it up
You should do a vid on diff collectives that dominates the space: 808 mafia & plug beats had a grip on the SoundCloud era for awhile but the working on dying boys are def the new wave and the current sound
just seen this but thank you for the comment bro, definitely will
Great video! You just gained a subscriber
they’re running the game now, you hear working on dying on every song now, thanks for making this video
Been a tread fan for years, I hope to this day that tread music will go viral. Most underrated rap genre by far
Your content is top tier. Never stop grinding!
amazing video!!!!
Great quality video! Keep going and you'll make it big, new sub!
just seen this, much appreciated
working on dying 2 is such a good collection of songs i constantly come back to
everytime i hear abt them my mind always goes back to uzi. a lot of his snippets from the old version of eternal atake had the working on dying tag as well as oogieman tag
yooo! he mentioned Tread rap!!! big ups
love the channel bro, what do you edit ur videos with?
Wish you touched on the songs KEY! made with Working on Dying. That got them a lot of rap exposure and connections
goated video
New subscriber 💕
Nice video
This vid was hard well put together 💯
Spent a long time on it, appreciate your support bro
i would describe the working on dying loosie tapes as like cloud rap/sc phonk, it's music that is very proper to the plaform with other names doing similar stuff like dj yung vamp, shamana, soudiere etc... typically remixing known rap songs with ambient/jazz samples and modern trap drums or old school beats. It's quite surprising to know that they started out like that but BNYX did keep a bit of that sound
Make a part 2 covering fivefingerposse🙏
you forgot to mention ily kimchi
Can you do an SGP video specifically his Blackland Radio 66.6 Pt.2 mixtape days and when he was on his ATL Money Purrp sht with Fauni and Uno working with him and when he made tracks like MIATL Miami to Atlanta. All of those tracks are classics and deserve some shine.
deserves more love
bnyx is taking over he produced utopia, pink tape and for all the dogs
I first heard that working on dying tag on 12ozs by Warhol, INSANE how much they blew up over the years
Also rip forza he had so much potential released some of my favorite lucki sings along with the rest kf wod back in the day
Very interesting, I’ve heard that prod tag a million times and never knew the people behind it
It was lit💀
prolly my favorite producer tags come from them
U gotta do a video on 5 finger posse , heavily involved with forza, oogie, and f1lithy . One of the most influential groups from that era . never got they flowers
bro didn't even mention bladee and they have an entire mixtape with him called "working on dying"
not mentioning bladee is crazy
KEY!
BNYX's beats for Zack Fox are fuckin sick and his album with foushee was cool too
new gen video
When these guys started making beats I was 7
That first WOD was the Og underground sound I fell in love with a s teenager
the come up is insane
Legendary
crazy how u didnt mention kimchi, luckis tracks and history with them, neither wod by bladee. still, good video tho
We need one on the Mt. Rushmore of mixing the old with new; Cardogotwings, Sledgren, Johnny Juliano , & Yung Exclusive
Seeing as how this group really thrived and set their roots in the underground long before their eventual burst into the mainstream, primarily due to that drake placement back in 2018, I can see them and their sound becoming a mainstay in the industry for a couple more years, thanks to the endless source materials they can easily tap into through their many experimental attempts in the underground back then (like with tread and "rage"). I think that one of the often overlooked and underappreciated facts about them was on how they were also somewhat responsible for popularizing hyperpop both in the underground and mainstream of the west. Hyperpop used to be a really niche genre that had a really popular underground scene in europe. It was one of those genres that had a really hard time penetrating into the niche audiences in the US (mainly because of the fact that the "hyperpop" sound we have today differs vastly from its predecessor). WOD's, primarily, Brandonfinessin's adaptation of this on his work in uzi's Eternal Atake, really gave hyperpop the boost that it needed to become a popular sound both in the underground and mainstream scene of the US (though the sound had to change quite a lot to accomodate for the newer audiences).
Those tracks on their debut album lucy man presents, sounds super similar to og phonk. pretty sure it is with the memphis type vocal overlays.. especially with it being gucci mane. he’s already heavily used in og phonk.
this video just turned my world upside down. had no idea all those guys had ties from fuckin high school that’s crazy
Can’t forget five finger posse they play a major role in their rise
working on dying 2 is one of my favorite albums of all times
Nice vid. No mention of Warhol.SS - 12ozs (Prod. F1LTHY) Dir. Cole Bennett back in 2017 😕
Oogie n forza also Produced countless songs for lil peep too
Oogie mans was goin fuckin crazy in 2016-17
also there is ilykimchi that works with underground and mainstream artists aswell
Tread music needs a comeback
I still produce tread lol
tread just beginning to gain popularity in Russia
@@djtal1ban yoo really?? U got some russian tread rappers i can give a listen to?
@@grindingshiba whitener, benjamingotbenz, and few other guys from doom rushaz
Didint mention bladee and his tape called “working on dying” that was entirely produced by WOD members. I’m a drainer and I need to hear his name.
You should listen to their work w Asaad from philly, that dude deserves his own whole video for real
Damn shout out workin on dying for workin wit Matt ox out the jump that was a legendary time in music 2016 was beautiful
2:13 this an era
What about drain gang???
I thought “Working on dying” was just part of BYNX’s tag I didn’t know we had all this history
that's soooooo cool that they all grew up together in middle school haha
you kind of left out five finger posse, they were also a big part during the tread era and the WOD collective.
the fact you didn’t mention five finger posse is crazy…. philly legends
