Good morning Pastor Paul. We are studying 2 Samuel in Sunday School. Before each class, I listen to your message on a specific text in scripture and take notes to prepare for class. It is January 31, 2021. I am amazed at how your message in 2 Samuel is such a paradox to what we are living today. Especially when coupled with the messages from Paul in Romans. Thank you!
Currently, there's Palestinian-Israeli conflict again.. But I am hopeful that time will come again that Israel will praise and thanks God for delivering them from terror attacks of Hamaz and other Arab-surrounding countries. Glory to God!!!
Here is an example “Wow lord, I can’t complain. You have always taken care of me. Thank you for guiding me and reaching out to me when I was lost. You are so amazing, my little pea brain can’t even comprehend your immense glory. I know your in control over every aspect of my life because you are in charge. You are my peace and comfort. I can’t wait to know you fully. Thank you for sending us your son. Wow! Thank you for doing that!”
Hey Pastor Paul, Out of interest..Is it possible that the "seven sons" were killed due to the initial mistake the Israelites made in not consulting God about the Gibeonites? I get the sense that the sequence of events that led to this form of retribution was the Israelite trying hard (and failing) to rectify that sin...and ultimately having to technically break other commandments in order to do so...I guess the lesson I took from it is God's way is definitely always the best way, we just keep making the mistake of not choosing it as our first route...and I guess there are consequences to that. Btw I think you already answered the previous question I posted in a later video I watched so I can already thank you for that! Great teaching as always! God bless!
2Samuel 21:14 and buried the bones of Sha’ul and Yehonathan his son in the land of Binyamin in Tsela, in the burial-site of Qish his father, and did all that the sovereign commanded. And I see a correlation between the duration of the drought n how after these events came to pass (atonement) Elohim heard their prayer for the land.
6:06 this makes me wonder ... Is it right for a country to declare independence when its ruler is against it? we know that If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. And if that nation gains independence then that nation will rise in revolution against the other nation. look at what is happening in Ukraine or other historic nations where history repeats itself, was it right to split originally? who is to say that united nations is right or wrong? where is the scale that holds right over wrong in what is happening today or in the future? how can we learn from Davids story in todays world? David crushed the oposition in most cases. in some cases, gravitated to peace but still went to war (in self defense). and in the third case, he loved the enemy and forgave those that did evil by forfitting from war. in all cases God was with him.
I also have some thoughts about the 7 descendants of Saul being executed. If we read the passage in Ezekiel "The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him." We need to read it, like always in context; There is an IF that proceeds them; “If, however, he begets a son Who sees all the sins which his father has done, And considers but does not do likewise; (...) But has executed My judgments And walked in My statutes- He shall not die for the iniquity of his father; He shall surely live!" but: “Suppose he has a violent son, who sheds blood or does any of these other things[a] (though the father has done none of them) (...) Will such a man live? He will not! Because he has done all these detestable things, he is to be put to death; his blood will be on his own head." So if you are just an extension of the sins of your parents, what separates you from them? I think that God knew what the Gibeonites would demand and he withdrew his protection from the descendants. But these are just my thoughts, could be wrong
So the Gebeonites lied to Israel, Israel didn’t consult the Lord. But among the elders . Became servants . Saul tried to wipe them off. Therefore, there’s a famine.
