Thank you! Your instruction is great! It would be better if you could make it full screen and if we could see a bit better what you are sewing.

The Westalee sampler set, where can I order one and also the large line marking ruler that you where using in another video? Thank you very much for the explanations and working methods. I have a suggestion to make it would be nice if you could give a close up of the ruler on the sandwich while you are working. Thank you.

Love these vids Which set would you recommend the 1/4” rulers to work with the ruler foot or the thinner ones that she sells be it home machine or long arm.? As the thickness would also help for the movement I would think

Hi Patti! There is a chart that we look up your specific machine on. That tells us which ruler/foot combination works the best for your machine. There are low shank and high shank rulers, and there are low shank, mid shank, high shank, and high shank special feet. There is a best combination for you!

@@QuiltingInTheValley i have the domestic machine templates and the foot, but most demos i have seen look like they are using the 1/4" templates as the template comes to the top of the foot,,,,so i would assume that they are using the larger or thicker set. i have tried the domestic ones and to me they are to narrow a product,,,,that is why i asked which set you are recommending,,,and one can get a better grip on the thicker ones,,,,i have the ellisimo 2 at present and plan on getting the destiny 2 by years end,,,

@@pattimccutchen3366 so Westalee rulers in both low and high shank are for domestic machines. There are some domestic machines that simply don't have the clearance to accommodate the higher shank rulers, specifically the spinning ones that need to rotate behind the foot as opposed to simply in front of it. If you are using a ruler that only goes in front of your foot, then the height of the ruler doesn't matter a lot as you don't need to clear anything. Domestic machines that are low shank can actually have the needle bar damaged by using the high shank rulers that spin behind the foot. On the other hand, both of the machines you reference are high shank machines and can and should accommodate the high shank/thicker rulers. Again, they are both designed to be used with domestic machines. Westalee makes a longarm thickness ruler in all the rulers they make, as well.....it is significantly thicker to accommodate hopping feet. I've used all three.....they pretty much work exactly the same way, they just feel different:-)

@@pattimccutchen3366 I used a Westalee high shank ruler in this video, which is what corresponds to the BERNINA #72 ruler foot that I was using. I could have used the low shank rulers with that foot by lowering the foot, but I chose not to. My feather set is low shank, so I have to lower my foot when I use the feathers. I would never use the longarm rulers on my BERNINA with a fixed foot, as it could very easily damage my machine. High shank, the same as those recommended for your machine, would be what I would recommend.
