  • Finally managed to stay up to be ready to film the sun-rise with the new Phantom 4. It's not 100% perfect but is a good start, learnt a lot this morning so next time around (at a different location) it'll be much better.

sunrise is amazing, just a tip with the drone tracking the ground fly it higher because most of it is unfocused. Focused tracking quickly makes it look sick!

Beautiful, I'm thinking of investing in a Phantom 4 soon, can you tell me how you accomplished this? Is it a setting, was it from a single flight, was it video or photographs layered etc? Thanks in advance

its easy: just find the good spot and let the drone hover there. with little to no wind it will be perfect and even if there is some wind you can easily stabilise the footage while editing. or even better you can fly the done very slowly, say 2km/h and shoot 10-15min shots and then speed it up in editing and stabilise and it will look even more cinematic! put some nice colour in editing and music and good to go

how do you attach a 7d to a phantom 4?

Haha if only! The 7D is on a tripod! 7D did the time lapse. Next one will be better as I got a filter for the lens!

+Matt McLeary I realised that as soon as I pressed send. I like the idea of mixing drone and video (camera) footage. I'm having a phantom 4 delivered on Saturday. I cannot wait. Is it easy to use? What filters do you recommend?

+fivepointsix it's super easy to use, only thing I'd suggest watching out for birds if you're near the sea. They'll go for it so either have a handful of stones at the ready or have it high enough from them. Don't have any filters on the drone itself, just apply changes in post w/ premier pro :)

+Matt McLeary i use final cut pro for editing but everyone says to fit a nd filters for daylight filming.
