Best growing method of them all. I particularly liked when the monster was so injured that Orbis would literally have to pull them to their feet after filling them with the growing agent so they could grow properly. Kind of like the monster equivalent of smelling salts and a couple nurses pulling you up after fainting. LOL
Uh, this is only 4 years in but yes this is stupid. The first time makes sense as the Ohrangers never encountered growing monsters before but the other times make no sense.
For Tanya you can understand since this was her first season as a ranger though she appeared at the end of last season, as for Kat, she's still hasn't had a year's worth of ranger experience at this point but no excuse for Rocky, Adam or Tommy. But, blame the Ohranger footage.

Robocupid was one of the rare monsters that had an actual personality other than "generic evil monster." I loved it when she accidentally zapped herself and fell in love with Klank, chasing him all over the stockyards.

I love when he says "Oh Haggis!" That kind of cartoon equivalent of Scottish cursing is up there with "Oh Duck Pyjamas" from Ducktales! Also, when he says "Help is on the waaaaaaaaaay" I'll wager anything that the voice actor got that from Mrs Doubtfire!

Yeah, same here. Mondo merely sounded like a pompous but tough king, Machina sounded soothing, Sprocket sounded cute as did Orbus and Klank was cool sounding with his scottish accent. Quite the opposite of how sinister Rita and Zedd and many of their minions sounded.
Whatever personalities Mondo and his family had were probably programmed into them. I give the example of how Mondo was destroyed midway through Zeo but was rebuilt exactly the same as before, and according to canon his body was destroyed several times but was always rebuilt with his personality identical to his previous body. Zedd and Rita had character development; they were self centered at first, but they fell in love. Zedd even confirms that when Rita's spell faded he still loved her.
Klank: oh no those Power Rangers have stopped our evil transmission! Orbous: hurry we'll make Puppet Man grow! Klank: Around around & away you go! Orbous: the show must go on Puppet Man. here we go. Puppet Man: well Puppet Man's hit the big time!
Rita and Zedd were genuinely in love with each other, which gave them some positive energy. Zordon's energy wave destroyed anything that was pure evil. Klank and Orbus were machines that didn't have emotions, so they were blown to bits.
While the camera angling was not the best, compared to other seasons. as it's literally just the monster standing far away, and then really close, it's still one of the most entertaining and unique monster growing methods. The background tune that plays is probably the catchiest as well, while "in- space" had the most menacing tune out of them all.

I wonder why the Rangers didn't just attack Klank and Orbus? Klank is kind of hard to miss when he's twirling Orbus around like that, and the Rangers probably could have stopped some of these enlargements if they'd shown some initiative.

One thing I noticed, and didn't get is a kid, is that his grow method isn't always the same. Sometimes, Orbus injects the monster, a port actually going into it. Other times, it's small green pulses from his mouth. Others, it's a beam from his chest. Sometimes it's more than one of the two. But I asked someone who has seen Ohranger all the way through, and no, seeing the original version doesn't shed light on the differing growth methods.

7:22 looks like the film quality improves here. I'm guessing this is when they managed to get a hold of the costumes and props to film new footage in the west? The way Klank swings Orbus at this point seems a bit different than the footage before. It does look like it goes back to the grainy Japanese stock footage a bit afterwards though. I think you can tell which is stock and which is new with the way Klank spins Orbus, I'd wager they don' show him throwing him because they didn't want to risk damage the Orbus prop. The new, reshot footage looks like the costumes have a bit of damage/repair done on them sometimes too.
So whose to say that robots can't have souls and personality/character development too? I know I'm getting philisophical and all but I just feel that the Machine Empire guys should've been merely turned good by Zordon's energy wave.

7:22 looks like the film quality improves here. I'm guessing this is when they managed to get a hold of the costumes and props to film new footage in the west? The way Klank swings Orbus at this point seems a bit different than the footage before. It does look like it goes back to the grainy Japanese stock footage a bit afterwards though.
I think you can tell which is stock and which is new with the way Klank spins Orbus, I'd wager they don' show him throwing him because they didn't want to risk damage the Orbus prop. The new, reshot footage looks like the costumes have a bit of damage/repair done on them sometimes too.
Those two are great team to make them grow
