Suzu ending up going the same path as her mother and she was supported. I think this song really is what tugs at your heart because in the midst of her loneliness and anger towards her mother "leaving" and trying to save another child, she has found solace in sharing her kindness through music to let everyone relate and reach out towards what she feels. Others who feel lonely too. She is the same as her mother and at the end she stood with strength when helping two boys. Kindness is not an easy act but its not one she regrets as it helped her too.

When I realized this beautiful song was about losing someone dear to you and sometimes the overwhelming grief that comes with it, this song expressed perfectly what was in my heart for a long time, but couldn’t express. My mom passed away from Alzheimer’s before Christmas.
As I listened in the dark ambience of the theater, this tender wish being sung by Kylie’s sweet, ethereal voice, tears started falling.

well they did the same with kaho nakamura (the japanese va) too. when they started releasing teasers and songs from the movie they didn’t even disclose on who the singer was and only did so until the actual movie came out. that’s the point of the movie you know? they’re just like belle - there’s no need to know who the person behind it is because all that matters is the raw passion of their voice and songs (at least i see it that way)

    Lyrics:
    Light glimmers in a flower
    Like jewels in a dream
The sky breathes life, love to everything
At times I’ve thought “I’m not enough”
The chains that tie my heart
But there’s still a path that lies ahead for you and I
Memories fade away, clouds of yesterday
    With no one to love
    Is this life worth living?
Come back to me, and stay by my side
I feel my heart shake. Come, ease this ache
I’m standing over here, reaching for you
A million miles away, come back and stay
No matter how far the memories may be
When I close my eyes, you’re all that I see
    Come back to me
A million miles away, come back and stay
    LA LA…
Sing, let your heart soar! Sing forever!
Sad and so happy! Feelings flow over, now
Our world is full of all kinds of colors
Closing my eyes I still can see the stars
Shine in the sky, sing their harmony
Flowers, they’re blooming, oh it’s beautiful
    Sing! Sing! Sing!
Sing this song, I won’t stop now
Sing it through, I love you
    The voice carries on

My grandma passed away last night, and the first thing which came up to my mind, was literally this song. Since she was a huge part of my growing-up formation, the first part thoroughly makes me wish those things to happen, and hits me harder than ever even after watching this movie months ago.
Even so, the second part truly makes me picture how she culminated her journey with her lessons on seeing the bright side and carrying on since it's what matters at the end of the day. I'll miss her so much, and this song besides of being one of the best I've ever listened to, brings back my granny by making me remember her sheer passion of live-in.
In addition, I will always recommend this movie since it's personally one of the most underrated, and even though the movie can be clumsy on the writing side, its wholeheartedly passion to make art that can be felt, is what personally stands out the most at the end of the day.

I’ve always loved these movies but this one hits close to home because how many of us in this day in time try to escape reality by using an online persona? It feels like anything is possible and here we are watching a movie and listening to music that grabs our heartstrings because we can relate. I can relate to Suzu so much but I can’t relate to the loss of a parent. However I could feel the ache and sorrow through Kylie’s voice. Wonderful job! Love this movie and hopefully I can get it on DVD.

The whole mesage of this song was for Suzu to reach out to the beast telling her story of how she lost her mother and that forged a chain in her heart and weighed her down, at times she thought she wasn't good enough and a outcast however she showed there is light in the darkness the memory of that day fades with time its never easy but day by day you can heal from trauma and the gloomy clouds that once surrounded her day to day life began to disapate showing her the once clear sky she saw on the days her mother was alive.
There is always a path to healing and how if you have no one to love and if there is no one in the world to say there to say the words she will be that person the beast needs. Suzu will be that friend to be the support he can rely on, she sings in the U universe to show no matter where you are in the world be it a QTR mile down a road or half way across the world you have place to belong. You have me a friend who will love you.
The fact remains that Suzu sang that song and her words were so shaky it was the first time she took the step to really accept who she was. And show the U universe she is ordinary and all the faults she carrys is just like everyone else who walks on the same planet.
Suzu is such a great character how she gives her all to help a lonely soul who feels like there is nothing good IRL even in the online world. To heal and see there is good in trusting people its all a matter of connecting and letting someone in yeah its scary but you have to open the door inorder to heal.

I lost my grandpa in 2019. For the longest time, I took him for granted and even when I was such a brat to him, he still loved me and supported me. We only started growing closer in 2016 and I regret the lost time that I could have spent being with him more. One of the last things he told me was "it was okay" and "I was being such a trooper" while he was sick. Even with dementia, he fought through it all until he couldn't anymore. I have a decent singing voice and he always loved when I sang, but I'm shy to sing in front of my family. When he was barely awake in the hospital and slept most of the day away, I finally sang to him. According to the nurse who was with me, he reacted to it. He heard me. Two days later, he passed. I hope that he's watching over me and the family well. This song reminded me of him. I can't wait to see the movie in a couple of days.

I lost my grandma during the pandemic, and when Belle (Kylie McNeill) sang the words "Come back to me", it hit me like a truck and I burst into tears. When you lose someone you love deeply, especially after not being able to be with them in their last moments, you just wish you could rewind time and get them back.

Ever since I lost my dad I have stopped doing musical theater and the thought of preforming in front of people was paralyzing and this dog has moved eon such a deep level especially when it’s directed to an abused boy. It’s limped it was written for me. Everyone should see this movie even if you don’t like anime try it it’s so heart wrenching at least for me.

I lost my mom the same age as Suzu did in the movie, so I start crying whenever this song is played.

  • @raylenaluna8252
    @raylenaluna8252 ปีที่แล้ว +8

I lost my mother not by death, but because she didn't want a relationship with me anymore. The amount of pain you feel inside when your own mother no longer wants you is unbearable at times. When Suzu sings the part that's says l, "At times I thought I'm not enough" it clenches at my heart. All I want is a relationship with my mother..

So funny thing. Since this movie didn't premier in the US until 2022, it's either going to try and enter as foreign film this year, or need to wait until next year for Best Animated.
In my option, I really think it should go for best picture, thus closing the loop for Disney's Beauty and the Beast earning the nomination for Best Picture.

I think the animated film FLEE might win as it is the highest rated animated film of 2021 and is also one of the highest rated films of 2021 overall.

Listening to this as my mother pushes herself further and further away from me...since my father was never in the picture I always dreamed to have a beautiful relationship with my mother, but she just cannot seem to accept me, then nor now I'm an adult... We have always had a tough relationship due to all she's been through, which unfortunately reflected on me my whole life...

I still get so emotional. Can't believe I actually dealed with people who thought it made no sense to be that into the movie because they didn't think it was that good or had any significant impact. You can be heartless but keep it to yourself ew. Anyway, I adore this song and its musical beauty. The melody is so special during the lines "come ease this ache", "you're all that I see" and "come back and stay". It really emphases the message and emotion it inspires. And this music video doesn't even include the high energy second half of the song!! It uplifts you after you dig deep into your emotions!!!
