    1st off let me start by saying thank you. Very intuitive step by step explanation that took a lot of fear out of doing it myself the first time. The only discrepancy I had was when you mentioned 5.2l of oil I just got the kit and they only game me 5L of oil for the engine it’s says in the instructions capacity is 5L as well (5.3 quarts) let me know your thoughts if you have time. Thanks again!

      Might just be a different model year. Follow your manual. My volume is written directly on the front of my engine. If you aren't sure add in the 5L, let it site for a while and check the dipstick. If its low add a little more until its good. Glad i could help. Thanks for watching!

      Nope called the dealer and they checked their book and it is indeed 5.2 liters like you previously stated don’t know why the kit only gives you 5L of oil very odd indeed

    I haven’t changed my lower oil or engine oil for a few years, but I’m back at it and appreciate your video. Just curious if the nut for the prop has to be tightened to a certain torque. Thank you.

    Thanks for your video it will help next time I winterize my 60hp Mercury. Might I suggest you use some cardboard to lay on the concrete and will keep you from staining your concrete.

    Usually would pay for mine to be done because it's a 2022. So with this video I'm gonna do it myself. Thanks for the detailed video!

    Why did you have a greece gun and not use it?

    • @poppymonroewild
      @poppymonroewild  24 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Used it to grease the prop shaft before reassembling it. It's the only grease I had on hand. No zircs, just pumped it out and applied by hand.

    Your video is awesome and easily the best step by step video I've seen in winterizing your boat motor.
    Only question I had is, do you "fog" your motor or is it necessary? I see some anglers do and some don't...

    • @poppymonroewild
      @poppymonroewild  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey thanks. I do not fog my 4 stroke. But i only really store it for the winter so max 6 months. If I was going to store it for a year or more I would probably fog it. Modern 4 strokes are so tight these days infiltration from moisture is likely very low risk. Thanks for watching.

    Great video , nice commentary with step by step instructions. Where did you get the little grey thing that you screwed into the lower unit to add lower unit oil. I never saw anyone change those gaskets on the drain plugs . Where did you find them? Thanks.

    • @poppymonroewild
      @poppymonroewild  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey. The pump and gaskets were available at my local dealer. They knew what I was asking for when I went and picked up the parts. Thanks for watching.

    looks like your transducer is sitting a little too low on the right fyi. Mine is sitting up about an inch higher so that its not getting directly hit with water at full speed.

    My 90hp 2010 efi has a standard drain plug bolt . Do you know the number on the bolt / tube adapter you have ? Much cleaner operation . Tha

      @poppymonroewild  ปีที่แล้ว

      Like the part number?? Or the size of tube. The tube is 1/2 ID

    • @timross7046
      @timross7046 ปีที่แล้ว

      Part number . Not sure if I can just take out the old plug screw and replace it with that one or not .

    What if I back the oil plug out completely…. It went back in fine. Anything I should worry about?

    • @poppymonroewild
      @poppymonroewild  ปีที่แล้ว

      I would think its fine, but i'm not a mechanic, best to check with your dealer. Thanks for watching!

      Hi Brian, It could damage the internal seal. Only back it out 1-2 turns until oil starts coming out. There's a video on Mercury's website regarding this.

    According to the Mercury manual on my 90 HP 4-stroke, the Oil Changing Procedure step 4 says "Attach a 12 mm (7/16 in.) I. D. drain hose to the oil drain valve." Not a 1/2 in. I. D. hose.

      Whatever fits and doessn't leak will work perfectly. 1/2 is what i had.
