I just came back from soloing AT Xenojiiva, and man...THIS...this is a good fight. Its...actually harder, without any BS, which is impressive, it has a TON of new moves that i had to learn to counter and MAN! The 30 minute time limit makes this fight a frenzy. And you know the best of it? The icing on the cake? When you finally beat it, you get that amazing quest clear music that only plays in a select few spots! I give this fight 9 Gogs out of 10
enhance move stationary eruption: a wave of explosion that spread from hes direction 2:21 xenojiiva beam sweep: animation time is shorter 7:20 earth shattering eruption: multiple ring explosions that spread across field 3:35 ignited: after enraging multiple eruptions occur around xenojiiva 6:42 all special moves (excluding explosion) cause hot spots when enraged such as tail attacks, ground slam and beams new moves wing's eruption: penetrates the ground with its winged fists causing mid range eruptions around it's self 1:28 quick rising assault: quickly plast a beam, sweeping its tail while spinning 360 degrees and ascends to the air. 2:51 heavy landing: causes heavy ground trimmer when dive landing 3:18

While the accelerated spikes growth rate is a huge gamechanger and a really awesome change, the new dive attack is bullshit if you ask me; it has a tell but only a few split second to react and the damage is insane as an Arch-Tempered. Decent at best. To sum that up, Xeno'jiiva and Teostra are the only really good Arch-Tempereds for me. Nergigante was just overrated by the developers.

Man, it's a shame they didn't make all the AT monsters as unique to fight as AT Xeno. Like, for example, as far as I can tell, AT Kushala has all the same moves as regular and tempered Kushala, only he can't be flash bombed at all. But there is no difference in moveset as far as I can tell.
flowerscythe but i think they should just put g rank on world, because think about it... they keep on putting dlcs then why not put a g rank dlc they could just rest first in world instead of making another mhw ultimate. I mean world has so many potentials.
Never thought hunting Arch-Tempered Xeno'Jiiva would be intense. He has increased speed movement compared to regular one, some new moves (yes, not just one new move like AT Teostra or AT Kushala Daora), revamped old move (when Xeno crush the ground with its body and caused large dragon energy explosion, is now followed by multitude of smaller explosions), its initial roar destroy all climbable crystal pillars in the arena and start with phase two already. Feel like a good ol G-Rank.
After taking a few months off from MHW, it took me a lot longer than 16 minutes, but using this build I was able to solo AT Xeno without dying using the weapons I'm most comfortable with (despite DBs being a horrible match-up). The icing on the cake was getting the deathblow using a Slinger Bomb when the big SOB wouldn't stop going up into the air. Thanks again!
This is how regular xeno should've been. Just felt like AT monsters should've been their base form and then we get something better for the real g-ranks.
The dodges inbetween the explosions is quite impressive. This is a fun fight but frustrating to do it in multiplayer (tried doing it 7 times and failed all of them) so I had to do it solo like every other arch tempered monster :(
I'm glad they added another hard monster to the end game. For all of those that say that you cant have a challenge on this game, monsters like this, tempered jho, lunastra, behemoths and a lot of end game monsters prove them wrong. For me? too bad I´ve been playing Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate for the last 3 monts. I cant just stop playing that game and fully return to this.This AT version of Xeno looks like fun, but my mind is with MHGU now.

Canh you use the smoke bombs to get back to camp on AT-Xeno ? because if not I severly doubt that you can fight him with any bowgun without running out of ammo~
I feel like if you are using DBs against AT Xeno, surely a high element/affinity build would do more than what the high raw of the Jho weapons can do. Though I don't know enough about MHW meta gaming to say for sure.
His red enraged mode and regular blue mode are weak/strong to different elements, and he loves to switch modes in this quest. Personally I think duals are a poor choice for this quest but I guess that's cantas decision
Super good fight, but may be too little too late. All the other ATs have been pretty boring and the meta is nearly on lockdown now. With ATXeno bringing in a Spare Shot buff for gunners i don't see what else could be added. Future content will basically be fighting stuff for the sake of fighting it. Which is nice and all, as long as its actually different from fighting what we've had all this time already. If ATNerg is just a normal Nerg who hits harder and has spikes that go black faster then I'm pretty much skipping it.
As someone who soloed AT Xeno with LS in 20 minutes and HBG in 14, I'm impressed. I'm rusty with the LS cus I didn't use it for 1000+ quests after the last time I used it. I might go back with my HGE DB set & try AT Xeno again.
Probablr both, everyone sucks at the first time you know Try to copy some of the youtuber armor set and how they fight. That will teach you quite a lot.
After not playing for 3 months, I was thinking of going back to try AT Xeno as a refresher back into the game but a 30 min time limit? I'm so tired of these short time limits. I like playing solo and I know I'm cutting it close with 30 minutes. What a shitty way to cheaply make it more difficult. :/
I've just come back after a couple months away as well and soloed it in almost 15 mins. Its not that bad since solo has less health compared to multiplayer. You may wipe a few times but its entirely doable for you, you got this.

he can now combo the quick laser into aerial mode that can be seen at 2:53. I think there may be more but that's the most notable one. His ground Slam now also sends 3 seperate waves of explosions out in a circle, and in one of his moves he can also slam his wings into the ground followed by an explosion. He can also turn and move backwards at the same time while firing a fireball at your position now.
I love AT xeno he is "hard" if you don't know how to fight but still I love how agreesive he is now and he doesn't stagger everytime you hit it what is nice
Haven’t played World since I bought MHGU for the Switch. AT Xeno sure as hell isn’t bringing me back, all it is, is a 6 minute kill with ChargeBlade for me, sigh... if possibly think about coming back when AT Nerg is dropped but all this ; give them random AT monster and random Layer armor reward bull shit is dying, grateful they gave us MHGU
Cannot beat it with SnS, hammer or IG. He moves around and fly so much it make me lose a lot of time. And since it is only 30minutes limit, I time out. Any tips for this fight ? I was told poison is very good against him, so is dragon. A poison or dragon build might be the way to go to clear the quest within 30min. I am becoming tired of theses quests with HP-overloaded monsters and reduced time (Behemoth, now this). It is very artificial and makes beating the quest almost impossible for random solo players not as good as Canta. Lv140 quest from MH4U had at least a time limit of 50minutes. It feels likes Capcom want to make Monster Hunter a multiplayer game only. If they keep going on this way, it will be without me.
This quest is so much worse in multi it isn't even funny. You don't need to be Canta to beat this quest. Watch and learn his patterns. If you're playing solo then he only has 1, 2 max with palico, targets. What he's doing will be predictable if you've really went in and learned what he does. For dealing with flying as a blademaster weapon keep an eye out for pods he drops, happens especially when he gets staggered. Shoot those at him in the air.
GunWing Eagle: I beat the quest two times using the strategy of Rurikhan which is spamming flying attacks with the dragoon knight IG with the dragoon knight armor. The first time with only 2 seconds before the time out, the second time with a couple of minutes. The monster is well designed and would be fun...if we had 50 minutes and not 30 minutes (same problem with Behemoth, AT Zorah Magdaros). Because of that, I have to drop all cautious, use cheap tactics and attack relentlessly. Thus, the outcome of the fight relies on luck: I am lucky and defeat him just before the time limit, or I got unlucky 3 times and I fail the quest (very easy, thanks to his new deadly moves).This reduced time limit is really frustrating and just kills any fun (your fighting more the clock than the monster himself) to fights, which would be fun and challenging in a fair way, if the time limits remained the usual 50 minutes, as it was for MH4U with the 140lv monsters.
I already beat AT Xeno with a number of weapons, and one them is the IG. I got it done under the 17 minute mark (same time as the longsword). All I can say is: ONLY USE THE AERIAL COMBO WHEN HE'S GLOWING, AND AIM FOR THE CHEST. Xeno is easily knocked down when he's glowing if you repeatedly attack his chest. Attack his chest when he's downed (deals way more damage than his head) Otherwise, use the ground combo for anything else. For his ground blasts, wait till he's done his first explosion and IMMEDIATELY GO UNDER HIM (or just vault towards him). Use the vault to quickly close the gap when he's running around. And finally, use clearmind charm (makes you immune to his fire blight) and health boost + health augment. Also use mega demondrug and mega armorskin (lasts until you faint). Use low maintenance weapons to minimize sharpening (100% affinity + master's touch, long sharpness, or the Luna-Xeno IG). Hope this helps. Note: what I used was the standard drachen set with Luna's helm (evade extender + 1 lv 3 slot & lv 2 slot) and the Luna - Xeno IG with health augment. Edit: forgot to mention that you should vault when he's about to roar since it has less recovery time
Wow, capcom is till doing AT Elders instead of just put some new monster? The fight is still Xenoshitva regardless the fact he is stronger and longer than the regular one, you really enjoy World atm? i can't play it anymore, the fun have gone and farming for armor spheres or joyel skills only last 30 min now. I can't describe why but AT monsters is definitly not hyping me enough to play, maybe i need more content to actualy play again? But what about you Canta? Do you still love playing World the way it is? Are you not borred alredy or don't you miss something in this game that other MH have? i feel kinda depress to not love MH as i did before tbh.
I don’t see how you find MHGU to be less boring… I got super bored of it really quickly, mainly because I’ve fought 90% of the monsters in it 1000s of times over the years.
So 1000 of tomes time 100 monsters compared to world... you anwered yer question. Im going to tell you why I find mhgu less boring. Mhgu isnt souls like and world kinda is. The monsters fight way cooler in mhgu too. Those 2 things.

AT Xeno just broke your words XD, he didn't just got buffed in health, damage and time. His new moves and buffed old ones are awesome, and make him gain for real the title of "Final boss".

Found myself enjoying MHW again because of AT Xeno, it felt like a proper g rank quest. Capcom did good on this one

The first time with only 2 seconds before the time out, the second time with a couple of minutes. The monster is well designed and would be fun...if we had 50 minutes and not 30 minutes (same problem with Behemoth, AT Zorah Magdaros). Because of that, I have to drop all cautious, use cheap tactics and attack relentlessly. Thus, the outcome of the fight relies on luck: I am lucky and defeat him just before the time limit, or I got unlucky 3 times and I fail the quest (very easy, thanks to his new deadly moves).This reduced time limit is really frustrating and just kills any fun (your fighting more the clock than the monster himself) to fights, which would be fun and challenging in a fair way, if the time limits remained the usual 50 minutes, as it was for MH4U with the 140lv monsters.
I already beat AT Xeno with a number of weapons, and one them is the IG. I got it done under the 17 minute mark (same time as the longsword).
All I can say is: ONLY USE THE AERIAL COMBO WHEN HE'S GLOWING, AND AIM FOR THE CHEST. Xeno is easily knocked down when he's glowing if you repeatedly attack his chest. Attack his chest when he's downed (deals way more damage than his head) Otherwise, use the ground combo for anything else.
For his ground blasts, wait till he's done his first explosion and IMMEDIATELY GO UNDER HIM (or just vault towards him). Use the vault to quickly close the gap when he's running around.
And finally, use clearmind charm (makes you immune to his fire blight) and health boost + health augment. Also use mega demondrug and mega armorskin (lasts until you faint). Use low maintenance weapons to minimize sharpening (100% affinity + master's touch, long sharpness, or the Luna-Xeno IG).

Note: what I used was the standard drachen set with Luna's helm (evade extender + 1 lv 3 slot & lv 2 slot) and the Luna - Xeno IG with health augment.
Edit: forgot to mention that you should vault when he's about to roar since it has less recovery time

Wow, capcom is till doing AT Elders instead of just put some new monster? The fight is still Xenoshitva regardless the fact he is stronger and longer than the regular one, you really enjoy World atm? i can't play it anymore, the fun have gone and farming for armor spheres or joyel skills only last 30 min now. I can't describe why but AT monsters is definitly not hyping me enough to play, maybe i need more content to actualy play again? But what about you Canta? Do you still love playing World the way it is? Are you not borred alredy or don't you miss something in this game that other MH have? i feel kinda depress to not love MH as i did before tbh.
mathieu du-pont AT Xeno is coincidentally the only good AT monster. He gets 5 new moves and new patterns to both AI and his explosions.

I don’t see how you find MHGU to be less boring… I got super bored of it really quickly, mainly because I’ve fought 90% of the monsters in it 1000s of times over the years.
So 1000 of tomes time 100 monsters compared to world... you anwered yer question. Im going to tell you why I find mhgu less boring. Mhgu isnt souls like and world kinda is. The monsters fight way cooler in mhgu too. Those 2 things.
