Frontiers Music Srl is pleased to continue their partnership with James Durbin as he continues on his path to wave the flag for almighty heavy metal with his new band Cleanbreak! Mike Flyntz of Riot V, Perry Richardson of Stryper and Robert Sweet, also of Stryper round out the line-up. Their debut album, "Coming Home" will be released on July 8, 2022. Pre-order/save "Coming Home" HERE: orcd.co/cleanbreak After Durbin's well received debut album (under the moniker "Durbin"), "The Beast Awakens", James was eager to explore more opportunities to create heavy metal music within the Frontiers family and the label was more than happy to oblige. After some discussion about his inspirations and the musical path he wanted to pursue, Cleanbreak was born. Cleanbreak sees Durbin paired with guitarist Mike Flyntz of Riot V and the rhythm section of bassist Perry Richardson and drummer Robert Sweet, both of Stryper. Durbin's goal was to craft an album that paid homage to a more traditional American heavy metal sound, ie. Riot, Fifth Angel, etc. and for that task Mike Flyntz was an ideal choice considering he dazzles with his fretwork and has been a member of Riot since 1989 (who changed their name to Riot V in 2013). With James killer vocals and Flyntz's guitar prowess in place, an ideal rhythm section was needed. With Stryper's long-lasting heavy metal legacy and their current studio albums being the heaviest of the band's career, the band's rhythm section of Robert Sweet and Perry Richardson seemed an ideal pairing to get involved with Cleanbreak. Both are criminally underrated players in the metal genre and it is a delight to see them shine in Cleanbreak, just like they do in Stryper. Raise your fists in the air and get ready to play your preferred air instrument of choice because Cleanbreak's "Coming Home" is primed to be part of your summer's anthemic melodic metal soundtrack! “Coming Home” Tracklisting: 1. What a gorgeous Chorus. This song is layered with a little bit of everything, heavy at times, melodical, musical, passionate, fun, grove, punch. Durbin is absolutely at the top of his game. His voices pierces through with majesty and clarity. Not sure I could love this more if I tried!
Was pretty surprised by how great this is. The music, arrangement and Durbin’s vocal control is going to make this very accessible to this audience. The solo arrangement kept it really fresh and 🔥🔥🔥. The rhythm section is super tight as well.
Durbin's got a great voice on him. Nice. I see why they went with him. He's very Michael Sweet-ish in the way he delivers his vocals and how he sounds.
Wow. Absolutely stellar group of talented musicians!!! Incredible clear, killer, soaring vocals, sick rhythm section, and Mike absolutely crushes the guitar. Magic together!!! I want more!! 🙌👏🔥🤘
Fantastic! As a fan of all things Durbin, Stryper I'm not surprised I like it but I REALLY like it and appreciate the musicianship on this tune. Not familiar with Riot but loved the guitar playing and now get exposed to a new band to check out so a double win!
Honored to have worked with you guys on the songs for this album and of course the video ! It's like we are all a new family ! We had so much fun as everyone can see but my fav part is James at the 1:53 mark doing a killer ode to Macho Man Randy Savage !! Love you guys !! Let do a Cleanbreak 2 !!!!!!
Lead singer has a nice clear voice. Then all of a sudden he unleashes it as a powerful cannon. Got some serious pipes there. Steady drum work, and some serious guitar shreds. YES definite THUMBS UP here!!
This is awesome stuff! James sounds a billion times better doing this style as opposed to the Quiet Riot albums he was on. It wasn't his fault though. The riffs didnt fit his style and it just wasn't Quiet Riot style music anyway. Thank You for everything, James. All the best!
I saw that James Durbin was singing so I watched the video. Wasn't paying alot of attention at first and thought this is really good. so I started watching the video. I Said hey is that Perry? Then I saw Robert. That answered my question that is Perry. I had to go back and Watch it again from the beginning and pay attention this time. Love this song. I will be buying this very soon.
F R E A K I N G A W E S O M E ! ! ! James Durbin is an amazing singer and his solo album "The Beast Awakens" (2021) was a masterpiece. This sounds really good and all I wish is that this will get James Durbin on the road touring all over. Love this song and it's very promising for the upcoming Cleanbreak album. Hope to see this band or James on tour.
This sounds great. Glad to see James out front doing his thing. His band mates also have thier distinct legacies. Nice lineup. James keep repping Santa Cruz and carrying the metal flag. Excellent work fellas.
The thing is, everyone member of this new band is so good at what they do, the net effect is mesmerizing! You literally cannot pick out one member that towers over any of the others, they are all just top notch at what they do and the combination ends up sounding so tight, that my first impression is nothing less than a total WOW factor. James sounds so relaxed in his signing yet at the same time super passionate about how he vocalizes resulting in a very sweet (no pun intended) timbre and practically acrobatic scale transitions without ever being overbearing in his delivery. That combination is very rare. Mike was flame on the guitar work and definitely helped set the tone of the style of this band along with the contemporary signing style of James, yet Mike seemed to successfully bridge a gap between the metal sound of the 80's/90's with more up to date metal technique which works so well and is very refreshing to hear. Robert was sounding absolutely incredible on the drums, perhaps challenging anything he's done before, or perhaps it's because this combination of musicians and up to date sound is giving him a chance to be even more expressive and on fire than he already normally is when he performs with Stryper but one thing I have to mention here is that over and over throughout the song Robert was was so out of control crazy good on his drums that I must have said "WOW" at least 10 times during the song listening to him slay! Without any doubt Robert Sweet just keeps getting better and better. Perry of course is being the Rock Star he's always been haha, so confident because he's such a damn good bass player and he never fails to bring that Star Quality to whatever band he plays with, he doesn't need to "try" it's just him, he just does it! Together what the do is so solid and so tightly knit together, both stylistically and in execution that it literally sounds like they have been a band and playing together for about a decade already and this song sounds like it would be their breakthrough song on their breakthrough album that takes them mainstream and going platinum... but it's their first song lol. SUPER potential in this band, I just hope they keep that creativity up!
Finally some good rock music. I'm so so tired hearing rock is dead. it will never be dead as long as guys like me are around...good stuff guys. Keep it up.
Fantastic track! Everyone sounds great. I almost forgot just how good James Durbin's vocals actually are. What a range he has. Can't wait to hear more!
On behalf of Mike, Perry, Robert & Myself, thank you all for the love!! More CLEANBREAK is on the way 🤘🏽
KICK A$$
Finally, an album, hopefully, that suits your voice. This song does just that.
