To add what thatcrazyman70 said, a Spartans short sword had less range and also could not penetrate the armor of a samurai, it would merely damage the Spartans sword, even a thrust would not damage the armor and would hurt the point of the weapon even more.
In Nishizawa Valley we shall remember the thousands of men, like the Great Battle of Sekigahara where brave men fought and died to defend what they believed them, Cowards they were not.....-Gahlahad431
wow that is meny soliders...can i ask u something i have problem to install third age on medieval II kingdoms..i install evrything and nothing, no any icon, nothnig no aplication flie nothing..do u know something about that..sorry on my english ;)
Thats how you can win on harder difficulties vs AI when they bring like 5-6 full stacks and you take control of the initial battle, hold them off or defeat them quick, and then destroy them as they come in.
of course it can, and in phalanx position it be harder for a samurai to get around but one vs one there are way around thing , remember that the Spartan shield is made of wood and a strong front kick can smash thru it and not to mention the more heavy Spartan armor means that the Sparta lack the mobility that the samurai has, which mean the samurai could out manurever and take out the Spartan
i wanna buy this game but i dont know if it will work on my laptop. i have acer windows 7(64-bit (AMD Athlon(tm) II P340 Dual-Core Processor ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250 3.8 GB RAM let me know thanks
I would like to help but I'm just as stuck as you are. I've had a lot of trouble trying to get that mod to work properly and it still won't work! the only thing i can suggest is for you to look around some forums and see if anyone else can be of help.
samurai like the Spartan were trained in martial arts combat at a very young age too as well, and like the Spartan they were born into it, a simple commoner cannot one day go and train to be a samurai if he isn't born into it, samurai were trained in 1v1 combat history shows they would often let their target know that they are a target , Spartan are trained in packs , primarily to make the best use of their phalanx,
Ninjas were assassins who used trickery and deceit to kill their target, while samurais believed in honor and would rather fight a man in a fair 1v1 duel. So those two kinds of warriors can't be compared.
There once was a rogue named Gahlahad the Gray, and he battled the forces of grammar i say! He fought with valor on that cold, dark day, and blood was spilled along the frey, filling the field with a crimson spray! But in the end he was felled by a grammar nazi great, and that was the saga of Gahlahad the Gray!
Samurai trained in highly advance disarm/joint manipulation combat of jujitsu while nowadays no one is sure what pankration is really was other then the hint of wrestling and boxing combination ,modern pankration is completely different , Spartan were one of the best trained of their time and around their people, And yes samurai were train to handle any situation as well the only difference is time period and the ritual suicide over capture or retreat
Lamellar armor is vulnerable to sword thrusts, and was designed to stop slashing attacks (hint hint samurai used katanas) Spartan short swords were thrusting weapons, you do the math.
Spartan does not "doesn't allow retreat" it wasn't preferred but wasn't demanded , the samurai were require to fight to the death because it would lead to being dishonourable and samurai cant act in any dishonorable way without committing suicide otherwise he would be a ronin
Battle was not as rigged as you think. If either flank had broken the samurai could have easily attacked the infantry from behind and the arty. The Imperials would have had to either shift forces to that flank to counter (and thereby weaken the center) or risk a collapse in the rear and attack from behind.
nah, they tested it with a katana. It couldn't cut through the shield, maybe if it came in from a strong angle like hitting the edge first. But the spear would out range the katana. It would be a tuff fight for sure.
not a fair fight, samurais were all clustered tightly together and came in batch by batch (due to terrain and unfair deployment) to be fired at one a time.
Yeah even though I've watched Deadliest Warrior a lot, one can only take the results of the testing with a grain of salt. Every so often the 'testing' they do is 'even'.
Not all ninjas war chainmail, also the fact that spartans are trained in both group and 1 v 1 combat they're spartans they sparred each other 1 v 1 and fought in groups -_- derp
That samurai charging with his sword raised got wrecked at 11:41
He was like "FOR MY FAMILYYYY" *Slash* "You have killed me with honor imperial warrior."
Must have been running a heck of a computer for 2012 to be able to field all this and make it work.
This battle.... its just too epic for me to comprehend.
Nice battle General!
Respect for your video's!
you just earned a fav..this video is awesome :D
Very nice battle dude!
To add what thatcrazyman70 said, a Spartans short sword had less range and also could not penetrate the armor of a samurai, it would merely damage the Spartans sword, even a thrust would not damage the armor and would hurt the point of the weapon even more.
dude....... im japanese and my heritage shined for the first time, it seem liked.
Why would you charge across the river, even if it is a diversion.
Thanks for clearing that up.
Nice job bro!!!
Those poor Royal Marines on the left flank didn't stand a chance. Those poor bastards still though glorious victory sir was most definatly yours!
With the music in the background and all that this reminds me of the movie The Last Samurai...
In Nishizawa Valley we shall remember the thousands of men, like the Great Battle of Sekigahara where brave men fought and died to defend what they believed them, Cowards they were not.....-Gahlahad431

"not even the mighty Samurai can stand up to the howitzers." but the Samurai are still amazing.
how did you put the blood in there in my fall of the samurai there is no blood??
Thats how you can win on harder difficulties vs AI when they bring like 5-6 full stacks and you take control of the initial battle, hold them off or defeat them quick, and then destroy them as they come in.

I would like to help but I'm just as stuck as you are. I've had a lot of trouble trying to get that mod to work properly and it still won't work! the only thing i can suggest is for you to look around some forums and see if anyone else can be of help.

what color is the Aziu and what color satsuma
Looks like the samurai had payed half of its country's populations with a pouch of gold
hey im getting a new video card, do you recommend one?
No bayonet mod? Probably made before the bayonet mod was introduced.

Now that's a battle
wow so cool xD can you tel me you cpus spec im curious to know aheh thnx
The bad thing is, that Shogun 2 still does not utilize multiple cores. It would run a lot smoother if you could make use of the full power of your i7
Ninjas were assassins who used trickery and deceit to kill their target, while samurais believed in honor and would rather fight a man in a fair 1v1 duel. So those two kinds of warriors can't be compared.
And so the river ran red with blood as man and animal alike could walk across without getting their feet wet for all the corpses of the enemy.
who runs their calvary parellel to the enimy lines!? 9:39
could I ask what are your specs

Plus Spartans are fucking ripped they can fucking carry armor like it's 1 pound
what song is it?
at 10:00, i thought that the blood effects would have effected the water, geez!
nah bro this is shogun 2 total war. but i think that General Oda just has a massive fuckin battle engine for his computer.
Never though I’d read this in my entire life: “enjoy the carnage :)” 😂
i wish they allow us to do naval battle between shogun 2 ships n fall of the samurai ones
verry good vid!!!

would have loved to see the unit statistics... ;)
Well i guess the water in that river will never ever be drinkable again lol
Two Steps From Hell? Yesss!!!
how did you get that many??!
What kind of PC is this and how much did it cost?!?!
You must have a huge scary configuration ^^
how did u record this?
no ashigaru were harmed in the making of this video.
Lamellar armor is vulnerable to sword thrusts, and was designed to stop slashing attacks (hint hint samurai used katanas) Spartan short swords were thrusting weapons, you do the math.

does yours crash alot?
why are the animations so terribly laggy? i
What gets me is that there are no bayonets, i'd expect the foreign troops at least to have them.
The game is so much fun! I just bought 2 copies. Its $7 on Amazon right now!
and is that the game blood or a blood mod??
13:00 Epic Decapitation!
If I were one of those Samurai i'd be like :" Man Fuck that shit, I'm going in last"
Thats a hell of an army
is this Civilitation wars or what?? if it is not what is it and gams like it?

Master, how many katana kachi do you want?
ALL THE KATANA KACHI!
That was a slaughter house.
is this total war? which is this game? to much soliders for total war...
how did you know we are all potatos? that's an M.Knight Shyalaman twist at its worst
Who else thinks that the samurai were the best IRL? In my opinion they were the best warriors to ever walk the planet Earth!
if he would've sent the giant wall of men in with the first wave or shortly after he might have won
your system specs please
I have a feeling that the Aizu is going to win through sheer numbers.
i know right, you charge at them or do nothing
What's your computer specs?

I saw the Royal Marines and instantly thought win.
it's not a battle, it's murder !!!
Not all ninjas war chainmail, also the fact that spartans are trained in both group and 1 v 1 combat they're spartans they sparred each other 1 v 1 and fought in groups -_- derp
And why couldn't Rome 2 be more like its predecessor???
+Eric Wu Maybe bias, lol
