Dimash here was competing against professional singers in China and I can understand how he was feeling in a well controlled environment as a part of the competition and in a new crowd who happen to be the judges ( 50 of them). And he was the first competitor , he has to win or none at all. That’s nerve wrecking. He has that competitive spirit. This is a very interesting & different way of judging the contestants. All these contestants are all very gracious to each other & to the audience.

In the chinese show "I´m singer" only well known singers are performing. A very hard competing. Dimash was not new on stage but completely unkown in China.

Sinful Passion was the first song I heard from Dimash and I was hooked. This rendition of SOS was the second one and I fell in love with him. Never ever before it happened to me that I fell totally in love with an artist. He has something special in his voice and in his personality doing something with me. Some described it as „soul butter“. I guess it might be the best description. I feel embraced and calm when I listen to Dimash and can forget everything else.
I can't wait for episode 2. Watch the longer because that is when his dad so he hadn't seen in weeks shows up. You have to realize that in Kazakh culture the whole family lives togeather. Grandparents, mom and dad, siblings, Aunts and Uncles, this is the first time Dimash has been by himself and he was extremely lonely and depressed because he on Only had one interpreter, and he didn't know the Chinese language or any English or at least very little.but he made friends and they are friends to this day. Thank you for doing the show it helps people to understand what he went through it lasted 4 months I think.

This is easily my favorite rendition of SOS. It’s just so heartfelt. Is it the most technically perfect, no. But it is the most nostalgic for me personally. When I heard this the first time, I went back and found the whole season of I Am Singer and watched it with English subtitles. It was very enlightening and made me a Dear for life.
I'm on the journey as we speak! Episode 2 (Opera 2) should be out tomorrow! I'm enjoying watching the entire episodes. It really gives you a feel for how close the competitors get. I'm so impressed with how humble and kind they are to each other.
All contestants were professional already having careers. Dimash by this time had competed in many competitions in the Baltic countries and Russia. His whole life from a toddler and professionally at age 5 was performing. Reactors argue whether he was nervous or not. Because of his experience he would have pushed through that but one of the two videos of this performance show afterwards in the hallway his knees buckling and he says, “Oh, my God.” He had chosen to conmen her rather than Singer” 2017. You’ll find Dimash always goes back to his contest locations years later to perform again sometimes multiple performances and to sit in as a judge. Dimash has paid his dues. If he’s not famous everywhere it’s his choice… choice not to compromise his independence. To come to the USA for any performance, tour, or to get a producer he would have to lose his independence. Do you know that even with Igor (if you don’t know him by now) a great Russian billionaire producer and mentor to Dimash) he didn’t lose his independence, they were equals no contract. You’ll find that this pairs performance arts talents and abilities are equal. That the ideas are going back and forth with Dimash always having a say so in his life of the actual end product. At this show here you see the producer wanting Dimash to change the song. No, Dimash wouldn’t change his mind. What you see heard ambiance and all was Dimash. At age 22 here he already had two masters and in his doctorate having had a master class in Broadway stage production would have had.control over the grips and even the sound guy and soundboard for every inflectiin of his voice as Michael did one of dimashs idols. We see dimashs performance arts with his output of the 2021 digital concert show where he hires 400 people to put that on. Dimash is not egotistical he collabs but he knows where to find the professionals in his world of music. Dimash university trained and a high fashion models so that this is where his dancers and models come from. If you every see his music videos oe live performances the women don’t have collagen lips or fake breast as the rap hip hop, and Hollywood scene have. They look real. Smoke performance arts version shows dancers like this. Dimash as a high fashion model picks and chooses his contracts. Of course he’s independently wealthy but his money goes back into his productions and to charities. You being in the mental health industry might observe Dimash doesn’t out out crap. Usually each song has to have a meaning to him personally not some teenage breakup song. I deal with a mental illness myself. Through the years artist have put their issues in their songs. Okay. But personally when Covid shut in time came the lyrics in songs after that seemed to be a person talking to his/her therapist crying. I wanted those artist to take their money and go to a therapist and talk it out and stop polluting our youth with their negativity. We Sos dealing with the questions of life from a desparate voice. But these young artist writing songs from induced highs talking to the public through that and comparing the high in a romantic relationship to the high opinion alchohol and drugs is out and really antiquated. Put that with auto tune on radio airplay and you have very little talent and subliminal voices and messages. Dimash is a child/adult prodigy that was guide with good parentage and grand parentage that went in the right direction, giving back to the world. He paid his dues way back, he may never reach the whole world with his message, why? Because he won’t compromise.
Love that you’re showing the results section of the show. You’re the 1st reactor I’ve found who includes it. I had to dig for the shows almost a year ago and watched each one. Gives a unique perspective. That Dimash overnight was searched online by 600 MILLION Chinese is incredibly impressive. Overnight star! Hard to imagine being in his shoes…. spoke no Mandarin and very little English, 1st time traveled without family (only an interpreter), youngest contestant ever on the show, only one not Chinese. He only brought along clothes for a few episodes thinking he wouldn’t be there to the end. Incredible story. Thanks for your unique approach. ❤❤❤
Thank you for the kind words! When these performances were suggested, I saw there were trimmed versions with just the performances... but I thought I might be missing out on the competition aspect. So, I figured I'd just watch the entire episode and include what was relevant! I didn't realize other reactors don't include it... (I don't do much "Staking out the competition" lol) I'm really enjoying the episodes (through 3 episodes at the moment, episode 2 drops tomorrow!), it gives some great perspective on how respectful and sincere the competitors are with each other.

I have never seen the results part of the show. This was really cool. 😃 I suspect the pressure on Dimash for this first performance must have been enourmous. Plus he barely understands english or mandarin so much would go completely over his head. My favorite part of this SOS performance is all the shocked looks. I laugh every time.😅 My favorite "SOS" is still the 2021 Digital Concert because of the Rock element added. Second favorite is the recent "SOS" collab with Hauser/cello. Yeah, we have all watched our first "Dimash song" many times.😏😂😂😂 Thank you for this excellent reaction. Actualy the slavic bazzar version of SOS which you watched first was a gest appearance tree years after he had won that competitions in 2015. There are videos of the slavic bazar 2015 SOS but it was not that good because somebody drugged him with sleeping pills and as he said he could only focus on not falling off the stage. Still he won that competition and came back tree years later to show everybody how SOS is supposed to be sung. If you want to watch something from slavic bazar 2015 you better watch Daididau“ or „Blizard again“. Also he sang there again in 2016 and 2017. But there are also lots of other videos of Dimash singing when he was younger even a child. And a very fun MV he made as a student: „my beauty“ music by Dimash lyrics by his father.

The first who presented this song was the French singer and songwriter Daniel Balavione. And of course the language is also French. SOS was the first performance of the China competition (in 2017) and was his first appearance in this show. The Singer is a show in China where only established singers are invited to perform. All the singers invited to this show are already well-known artists in China who have already won awards. Dimash was invited as the first foreigner as a wild card and the youngest in the history of this show. They became aware of him because he had already won some important competitions in Kazakhstan and Belarus, among others. He was still completely unknown in China. Actually, it was intended that he would only have 1 or 2 appearances. But it came completely different. Of course it is a show and the editing is worked, but I discovered endearing personalities, singers, accompanists, team... Dimash said how lost he was the first weeks, not knowing the language , not having all the codes, and above all inhabited by great stress to know if the public would receive his performances. As usual he did his best, and from the first performance he was encouraged by his results, which boosted his confidence. Because, even if it is hardly visible, Dimash was very stressed during this first performance, certain gestures show it and then he made mistakes in the lyrics, he forgot certain verses, which he replaced with others , in a way that was not perceived. I don't know if you will watch other moments of this show, but you could see how little by little, the other participants will become attached to Dimash and vice versa. I am happy to see you reacting to the Singer Dimash performance. Most of SOS song in different years is worth to react. I love 2021 and Almaty concert versions. If you will be interested after reacting to the Singer performances you can react to his Almaty concert. It’s my favorite concert. You can react to it by one song at a time! There you will see Dimash as the best performer, singer, dancer! Also there are many Masterpiece performances throughout the years that I guarantee will amaze you. If you are going to watch Singer 2017, it's good to know about Gloria Wu's channel ( G Wu ). She has Eng. subs on songs not in English, and usually has an intro with the song's background. For "S.O.S...." there is a history of people who have sung it before. The intro to Ep.8 "Daybreak" tells the tragic story behind the song, and shows how he lost his voice, and had to get injections to his throat. (Use the "cc" button for her intros to see what Dimash is saying. The intros to episodes 4, and 7, are also recommended. If you are going to watch many episodes, and see the same people backstage all the time, you might want to see the group Lion's song from Ep.1 " (We Are) Lion" . The guy with the long hair is a competent guitarist. Gloria Wu also has other interviews and TV appearances by Dimash in China. She has a half hour piece on Dimash behind the scenes at Singer 2017. Dimash did not apply. They invite professional singers they appreciate to compete. There are no insulting judges or auditions like most of the world singing competitions. The audience simply votes for their favorites. You can see that Dimash has no idea what they are saying most of the time. Despite the language barrier, they were very nice to Dimash and have become friends. He has performed with several of those artists when he goes back to China (often!).

Fun facts, Dimash told his Mother the piano was out of tune at the age of three and it was out of tune, he was compared to Mozart at the age of five, piano playing. You’ll find that this pairs performance arts talents and abilities are equal. That the ideas are going back and forth with Dimash always having a say so in his life of the actual end product. At this show here you see the producer wanting Dimash to change the song. No, Dimash wouldn’t change his mind. What you see heard ambiance and all was Dimash. At age 22 here he already had two masters and in his doctorate having had a master class in Broadway stage production would have had.control over the grips and even the sound guy and soundboard for every inflectiin of his voice as Michael did one of dimashs idols. We see dimashs performance arts with his output of the 2021 digital concert show where he hires 400 people to put that on. Dimash is not egotistical he collabs but he knows where to find the professionals in his world of music. Dimash university trained and a high fashion models so that this is where his dancers and models come from. If you every see his music videos oe live performances the women don’t have collagen lips or fake breast as the rap hip hop, and Hollywood scene have. They look real. Smoke performance arts version shows dancers like this. Dimash as a high fashion model picks and chooses his contracts. Of course he’s independently wealthy but his money goes back into his productions and to charities. You being in the mental health industry might observe Dimash doesn’t out out crap. Usually each song has to have a meaning to him personally not some teenage breakup song. I deal with a mental illness myself. Through the years artist have put their issues in their songs. Okay. But personally when Covid shut in time came the lyrics in songs after that seemed to be a person talking to his/her therapist crying. I wanted those artist to take their money and go to a therapist and talk it out and stop polluting our youth with their negativity. We Sos dealing with the questions of life from a desparate voice. But these young artist writing songs from induced highs talking to the public through that and comparing the high in a romantic relationship to the high opinion alchohol and drugs is out and really antiquated. Put that with auto tune on radio airplay and you have very little talent and subliminal voices and messages. Dimash is a child/adult prodigy that was guide with good parentage and grand parentage that went in the right direction, giving back to the world. He paid his dues way back, he may never reach the whole world with his message, why? Because he won’t compromise.

Love that you’re showing the results section of the show. You’re the 1st reactor I’ve found who includes it. I had to dig for the shows almost a year ago and watched each one. Gives a unique perspective. That Dimash overnight was searched online by 600 MILLION Chinese is incredibly impressive. Overnight star! Hard to imagine being in his shoes…. spoke no Mandarin and very little English, 1st time traveled without family (only an interpreter), youngest contestant ever on the show, only one not Chinese. He only brought along clothes for a few episodes thinking he wouldn’t be there to the end. Incredible story. Thanks for your unique approach. ❤❤❤

When these performances were suggested, I saw there were trimmed versions with just the performances... but I thought I might be missing out on the competition aspect. So, I figured I'd just watch the entire episode and include what was relevant!

I suspect the pressure on Dimash for this first performance must have been enourmous. Plus he barely understands english or mandarin so much would go completely over his head.
My favorite part of this SOS performance is all the shocked looks. I laugh every time.😅

Love all episodes of the singer where Dimash participates. That’s how I got to know more of him. I saw on TH-cam episode 3 and loved it and went back to search for the show ❤❤❤. That’s how I met Dimash😊
You may like to look at his version from his Digital Show during the pandemic. (Either as a reaction or just for your own pleasure.) There is also a video that I think is called "The Evolution of SOS" and it goes from 2015 to 2021. You can really see his improvements there. 🇨🇦
Actualy the slavic bazzar version of SOS which you watched first was a gest appearance tree years after he had won that competitions in 2015. There are videos of the slavic bazar 2015 SOS but it was not that good because somebody drugged him with sleeping pills and as he said he could only focus on not falling off the stage. Still he won that competition and came back tree years later to show everybody how SOS is supposed to be sung. If you want to watch something from slavic bazar 2015 you better watch Daididau“ or „Blizard again“. Also he sang there again in 2016 and 2017. But there are also lots of other videos of Dimash singing when he was younger even a child. And a very fun MV he made as a student: „my beauty“ music by Dimash lyrics by his father.

Thank you so much for reacting to the full videos and the stories behind🥰👍. SOS is a song in the French rock-opera „Starmania“ from 1978. The first who presented this song was the French singer and songwriter Daniel Balavione. And of course the language is also French.
SOS was the first performance of the China competition (in 2017) and was his first appearance in this show. The Singer is a show in China where only established singers are invited to perform. All the singers invited to this show are already well-known artists in China who have already won awards. Dimash was invited as the first foreigner as a wild card and the youngest in the history of this show. They became aware of him because he had already won some important competitions in Kazakhstan and Belarus, among others. He was still completely unknown in China. Actually, it was intended that he would only have 1 or 2 appearances. But it came completely different. When he woke up the next morning after his first performance of SOS he was a megastar in China and even found bodyguards outside his hotel room. SOS’ first video had 600 million views when it aired. He was just 22 years old at the time.

Dimash, like many other Kazakhs, has the tradition of living under one roof with the whole family all together. He lives with his grandparents, parents, a sister, a brother an other relatives in the same house. And now he had to go to China alone, didn‘t know the country, didn‘t know the language, didn‘t know the traditions or livestyle and up to that point he spoke (almost) no English, except maybe „Thank you“ and „My name is Dimash“. Only one interpreter came along and that at the age of 22. He was almost a kid to me then (my son is 21 so I can imagine…). The other competitiors might not have taken Dimash seriously at first because of his age and that they didn’t know him but that quickly changed after the performance of SOS, as you can see. Through his honest, cheerful and open nature, he found friends very quickly. Contacts that still exist today.
Opera2 was the second performance of The Singer competition in 2017 in China. The song is in Russian. A language he also speaks fluently. The original was from the famous Russian singer named Vitas.
The song is very famous and popular in China. And it's no opera song. That’s just the name of the song. The audience already knew what to expect, but were very surprised when Dimash raised the pitch three times. Vitas but only once.
If you want to know a little more about Dimash, then I suggest you to watch the video where his father was in the audience. However, Dimash knew nothing about it when he performed. It was a big surprise for him as he saw his father.

Of course it is a show and the editing is worked, but I discovered endearing personalities, singers, accompanists, team... Dimash said how lost he was the first weeks, not knowing the language , not having all the codes, and above all inhabited by great stress to know if the public would receive his performances. As usual he did his best, and from the first performance he was encouraged by his results, which boosted his confidence. Because, even if it is hardly visible, Dimash was very stressed during this first performance, certain gestures show it and then he made mistakes in the lyrics, he forgot certain verses, which he replaced with others , in a way that was not perceived. I don't know if you will watch other moments of this show, but you could see how little by little, the other participants will become attached to Dimash and vice versa. Even if Dimash has become a serious competitor, his humble and magnetic personality and his young age will spread mutual respect and friendships will form that still last. Greetings from France

I am happy to see you reacting to the Singer Dimash performance. Most of SOS song in different years is worth to react. I love 2021 and Almaty concert versions. If you will be interested after reacting to the Singer performances you can react to his Almaty concert. It’s my favorite concert. You can react to it by one song at a time! There you will see Dimash as the best performer, singer, dancer! Also there are many Masterpiece performances throughout the years that I guarantee will amaze you. The Dears already listed some for you.
If you are going to watch Singer 2017, it's good to know about Gloria Wu's channel ( G Wu ). She has Eng. subs on songs not in English, and usually has an intro with the song's background. For "S.O.S...." there is a history of people who have sung it before. The intro to Ep.8 "Daybreak" tells the tragic story behind the song, and shows how he lost his voice, and had to get injections to his throat. (Use the "cc" button for her intros to see what Dimash is saying. The intros to episodes 4, and 7, are also recommended. If you are going to watch many episodes, and see the same people backstage all the time, you might want to see the group Lion's song from Ep.1 " (We Are) Lion" . The guy with the long hair is a competent guitarist. Gloria Wu also has other interviews and TV appearances by Dimash in China. She has a half hour piece on Dimash behind the scenes at Singer 2017. There is also a shorter one (11 min.) from his International Fan Club called "Dimash Kudaibergen First Impressions - All The Wonderful Moments", which also shows him meeting one of his heroes - Jackie Chan.

Dimash did not apply. They invite professional singers they appreciate to compete. There are no insulting judges or auditions like most of the world singing competitions. The audience simply votes for their favorites. You can see that Dimash has no idea what they are saying most of the time. Despite the language barrier, they were very nice to Dimash and have become friends. He has performed with several
of those artists when he goes back to China (often!).
I love the camera work with the views of the shocked faces in the audience and among the competitors! 🎉❤🎉 The subtitles are nice, too!

This performance was the first I heard him, and I was shocked: “What is a non-Chinese doing singing in FRENCH on a Chinese competition? I couldn’t find anything about him on the internet back then in 2017. I was thoroughly frustrated for a few years!
Fun facts, Dimash told his Mother the piano was out of tune at the age of three and it was out of tune, he was compared to Mozart at the age of five, piano playing. He is now working on his 2nd master degree. English is becoming his 3rd language to fully speak in......he's a healer, sings to your soul and his BIG MISSION IS WORLD PEACE!!!

The producers put the weakest singers first so the audience would leave at the end with a good feeling/experience. 🎉❤🎉 They expected Dimash to be voted off in the first or second round. Ha! He woke up the next morning with four bodyguards outside his room and knew his life had changed forever.
