Thankyou fellas for sharing your house hunting. Bath is so beautiful love it there . Looks like you visited quite a few. Hopefully you’ll find somewhere soon to lay your hat.😂
Toby and Mikey I applaud you for being willing to look at housing options but also realizing that you're happy were you are and why you're happy in London. I understand the need to want something of your own, but the flat you've got now is outstanding and you've made it yours. And you got so many amenities available with the rental as well as location. So, what if you rent for another year or two, until something larger, more affordable, and that you love comes along? Would that be so bad? Continue to love your channel and both of you. XO
I feel like you have taken me on a Cook’s tour, guys! I got excited at the thought of a house in the centre of Bath; then we visited Bristol and I started to think you should also look at Cheltenham, as I could imagine you there. Finally, I landed back in London. I really enjoyed the adventure!
@@gillianashley1820 I love that! It was a short lived adventure for us too Gillian haha! We did live in Cheltenham - the lodge was there, and did love it! But found access to London quite tricky! Thanks so much for watching xx
@ I thoroughly enjoy ‘following’ you both, though I should really be cross with you right now. I’ve suddenly developed a hankering for a little place in the centre of Bath, close to the lovely bookshops et al, and it’s all your fault!
Thanks guys for this one, because it's nice that you are sharing your thought process with us, as you work out what your next move will be. For me it's the honesty of you both, the way you tell us the full story and the reasons for your decision to remain in London. Good luck to you both. ❤
This is such a big decision so do talk about every feeling to each other don’t hold back. So exciting too you two are so special and have a beautiful relationship many would envy ❤️ thank you for the vlog I enjoy so much 🙋🏼♀️❤️
I know it's tough imagining a renovation, but you both are extremely talented at turning anyplace you live into a warm and chic environment. I would love to go on the journey with you renovating a new home. Perhaps not tearing down walls, new plumbing, and electrical. But, a real design challenge that could double the value of your new home. Anyway, I can't wait to see what you decide on. Have you considered, just a bit outside London, near the trains? It seems that not far outside London proper, the prices are substantially more affordable. Like Surrey, Reading, Sevenoaks, Hitchin.. places like that? edit: oh, okay... going to the end of this video, I see London it is!... I'm honestly glad you're deciding on the city. So many amenities. ❤️
Wow.... seems like you get much better value and design by moving out of London. They say the 1st thing to do is to determine your budget range and 2nd the location (i.e., within 30 minutes of family; within 10-15 minutes of the train to London, etc.). Circle the locations that meet your needs and interests and ONLY look within that range. If you plan to have children, being near family is a god send! We lived near family and our young children loved their cousins (went to school and church with them) and their grandparents. Then, I moved them hours away to the East Coast of the US. Dramatic change in life style, culture, etc. Yes, made a lot more income but also spent much more on schools, home, etc. Lots of things for you to consider! Good luck, you'll find the house and area that you will LOVE.
I used to love it when we lived in London, but when my family moved to Canada I have loved the fact that we lived in smaller communities. I sometime miss all the things we could do in London, however with the way the economy is and expenses being so high, I have to say I like the fact that Living in a community of 120,000 inhabitants is terrific. I wish you guys all the best in deciding what place you wish to live.
At your age and stage of life, you belong in London! I've never subscribed to the idea of a "forever home" because our wants, needs, and tastes inevitably change as we go through life. I've lived in several houses over the years -- from elizabethan to modern -- and every move has been energising and exciting and felt like a new start. Having said that, I HATE the process of selling a house. I think most people do.
Hi guys. My thoughts, for what they’re worth, are that you should never move “back”. Maybe think about moving just a little further west than Fulham. Take a look at areas such as Chiswick, Richmond, Kew, Windsor etc. That way you are still in London but the right side for getting back to family easily & also prices generally a bit better than more central locations. Also I don’t know if you are familiar with the estate agency called ‘The Modern House’? If not you should definitely take a look, they handle properties that have some sort of architectural merit mainly in London but they cover the rest of the country as well. They also have a sister agency called ‘Inigo’ which deals in more traditional property - also worth a look. Sorry about the long screed😂x
Love watching ur videos heard u say u dont want 2 move again 4 a long time just 2 say if ur thinking of having a family u will def need some outdoor space ,cant wait 2 see what u get & follow ur search xx
The houses are all v v v nice. If you do buy back where you grew up you can always get your London fix via your work & stay there a couple of nights if necessary& then go home. A new property near amenities & transport links - you can have the best of bith worlds. Good luck with the search.
I use to believe in a “forever home” but I have moved a lot and still open to another move if it happens. Moving is stressful but also kinda exciting and I love the home buying process, but hate the home selling process. i am always looking at real estate and sizing things up and considering what I would change.
Guys, January to February and even March is a really grim period for house hunting, and will always lead to frustration and despair. The supply just isn’t there, and the quality of what’s on the market is dire. Keep looking, but don’t stress or lose hope if you continue to struggle for the next few weeks to find anything decent. Come spring you will see light and hope. (I’ve bought three properties in London Zone 1/2 in the past five years, so I’ve definitely been there myself. To prove my point, all three properties were listed between May and September 😊) Anyway, good luck!
I think you are doing a great job at really being honest with what would be right for you and not getting carried away or rushing into something. Excited for more of your journey.
If the 1st house had not just been rented would you still have decided to stay in London or could you have been on route to Bath? Gorgeous house. Also never underestimate being near your own families when you have children - any help from family members is invaluable especially when you are working. Just to add I only mention the family aspect because you have spoken about it yourselves in previous videos - I would not dream of mentioning something so personal if you guys had not done so. I do see you guys in a larger property.
Who knows, we didn’t get the chance to see it in person so potentially we could’ve fallen in love and done it! But it would’ve probably only been for the property which, whilst important to us, would mean giving up so much of what we love about London. Definitely agree about having family near for children!! Xx
Prevarication is not always your friend,,,,,, could you not rent for a period making sure that you want to be first in line when the house comes available.
Ha ha. I was thinking exactly the same thing halfway through the video and decided to looked at the comments to see if anyone else had noticed the 180 degree turn. That's when I saw Toby's comment about waiting until the end of the video.
@@forestfields just really trying to be upfront with the process and all of our thoughts - which when making such a big investment and struggling to find somewhere, it was a genuine consideration! 🥰
I’m of the opinion that you will see houses that other people have designed to a house and garden style,,,,,, you both would hate it because there’s very little scope to put your imprint on,,,,,, your home will have to be your long term project,,,, bit by bit you will see your joint designs manifesting before your eyes. ✌✌✌✌✌✌✌

Oh I would much rather live near bath and be close to family. Especially when investing in a property. Bath is so gorgeous. Plus it’s smog free!
Would you look in Hertfordshire most of it less than half hour from London. Interesting that you’re considering other places. Liking these volgs
