Our last frost date is supposed to be March 28 but someone forgot to tell Mother Nature because it’s minus 1c here in the morning 🥶. It does get sunny and warmer by noon but we are desperate for rain 🌧️. It’s all looking really nice Elaine and glad no major damage. Have a lovely week, Ali 🥶🌞🇨🇦

Thanks Ali. As a typical April, the weather fluctuates or flip flops from one thing to another. It's cold and rainy as I write. Looks like greenhouse duties are on the cards. I bet you keep a close eye on temperatures and have fleece at the ready. Take care, Elaine 🌱 🌱🌧🌞

I do love to watch these allotment shows and tell them how far in front I am here in the mountains in the sunshine. I will be lifting new spuds next week for May day Sunday lunch and maincrop no earlies. Peas flowering like mead. Sweetcorn direct drilled 4 weeks ago and now 4" high. Apple blossom going over and Oranges now flowering even rasp, brambles and strawbs in full bloom and me over 2,000 ft up. I suggest you get a max/min thermommiter so you know if you had frost the night before about £10. When I see you lot struggle with the shit weather it makes me so happy that I packed my bag and moved here and the land and house are so so cheap can buy a farm with house to repair for price of a newish car in Blighty.

Hi Robert. Yes I will have to get another max/min thermometer but until then, I will keep an eye on the weather update. It sounds idyllic there. Where is there? Elaine 🌱

@@allotmentjoy 2,164 ft up in the Portuguese mountains, where the air is so Fresh you grow lichen on the trees and the sun is very warm even in January.
