First time I sacrificed my best ranger...or so I thought. I sent her in to take out the beacon. She was wounded going in and almost guaranteed to die. Somehow I was able to get her back to the ship as a 2nd wave of reinforcements arrived using some support fire from my squad and my MVP MEC.
Who wouldn't be? Last time he was in a _back-against-the-wall, do or die_ situation, he almost died and the Commander was captured. That would scar even the mighty Sweaterman.
1:40 In my case was more interesting because the walking one was the sniper, what actually fits with the idea of being the one covering the back of the ones who rush foward.
I played this game, WITH THE DLC MANY TIMES, and have done this mission many times. Things would’ve gone just fine… *IF THE FREAKING ARCHON KING DIDN’T SHOW UP* !!!
if you get this event when you still not finished WOTC story.... you are fu*ked, be ready to face endless alien + alpha alien + 1 of your favourite chosen
@@tom4fun391 In all best X-com games base defense take place INSIDE your base and that base reflect layout of that base. So you can, if you wish, ahead of time think how place your rooms and facilities for better defence, if that event occure. But XCOM series throw it all in the window alltogether. In first game they add some resemblense of a defense but it was just some premade map. In THIS game we dont defending inside at all. We just given some randim map in the woods with couple objectives. So sad...
SandroUNDEAD the ship was disabled and landed. The objective is to destroy the spike preventing takeoff and leave. If you fight in the Avenger, not only are you preventing your means of escape, you’d be fighting a pointless last stand as Advent can and will just throw bodies at you. Could the map be more different? Sure. But in all honesty, the outdoor defense makes sense.
Lol you're salty that xcom 2 is actually good and rewards tactical play instead of needles base micromanagement where all you need to do is rush top research and snowball all over the aliens
@@TheTb2364 I disagree, although I like the mission, if you needed to defend a invasion against the ship it wold be way more hetic and rewarding, imagine being pushed to one room of the ship and step by step taking it over and then going out of the ship and destroying the spike and capturing the other alien ship, making you have two ships instead of one, and from there start building and army against the aliens, man, that would be so much cooler and it would prolong the game quite a bit, since is relatively short.
First time was hectic, second time...

I didn't have much trouble the first time, I hacked the mech and sent it to destroy the thing. It was surprisingly easy
@@cleo958 I just sent in a grenadier with run and gun and then used my sharpshooters to end it
Sent in Rangers and used Sharpshooters for Overwatch. Sent out SPARKS to tank damage.
Bradford must be REALLY worried about being stuck in a base assaut again.
OMG

Me too XD that's why I am here
@@darkcat013 heh, glad i'm not the only one. XP
This game feels really like Avengers movie lol
Something tells me this is the same EM pulse weapond developed back in EU/EW.
Is this war of the chosen?
Naw, vanilla X-Com 2. I will be uploading the new ones though as I encounter them once the DLC is out.
I don't think so, but in addition to chosen assaults you can still get this mission in wotc

fucking hell, i have 6 year old comments, im so old
The MOST dissapointing moment in a WHOLE GAME... Its a disgrace. HOW they could trade an INSIDE base def for THAT misirable excuse of a mission?
what do you mean
