I don't think so Ken. I burned them to MiniDisc from cassettes in the late 90s. I came across the MDs in an old dusty box this year and decided to post them now that Dr. Madsen has passed. Gems all of them.
I used to believe because of my current circumstances which were not favorable ie. poor health, living pay check to pay check, unfulfilled dreams etc. that my godlike abilities would be developed after I died and that a life of greater fulfillment and impact and abundance would be part of the reward of my faithfulness. I’ll preface what I say next with “boy was I wrong.” All the abilities (excepting immortality) we will ever have we have now and it is only a matter of finding the principles, and disciplining oneself and applying them in ones life through the thoughts, and feelings we choose and directing them in a certain way, and towards a certain end. We may think we know of all we need to know or all we can know at this time with the knowledge we currently have and yet our lives are far below the standards of a heavenly, abundant and fulfilling life.as well as that which we desire. I found that in my combing through the scriptures and books I was missing something that was there the whole time, it just want clearly spelled out. The “pearl of great price, that when once discovered a person would give all they have for it.” Why would they give all they have for it? Because all they could ever want is contained within it. That being the case than there is something we have not learned and applied that can be learned and applied here and now followed by the results we desire. I can say with all confidence and experience that all things are truly possible. I’ve surpassed my dream life many times over. I live a fairytale dream life through learning my true godlike nature and in turn creating exactly the life I desire. I love teaching others these same principles I have discovered through other great teachers, the Holy Ghost and practical application and experimentation and watch as they govern themselves based on what they discover. It is the most fulfilling thing I have ever done and I do it freely. Truly the word of God is bought without money. I have much more to learn and I am like a little child in this regard and like Abraham of old my greatest desire is to gain not just knowledge but greater and greater knowledge so I can be a greater and greater follower of righteousness and thus be able to go on and create greater and greater creations. . I love listening to Truman G. Madsen. Thank you for taking the time to post these. When I was working as a mechanic in Orem Utah at a Honda dealership he came into our facility to have his car repaired. I was listening to some cassette tapes of him and when I heard him talk I immediately said “are you Truman G. Madsen?” To which he replied, “yes I am” and stuck out his hand to shake mine. I told him he is changing my life. I love what he says in the next audio “You cannot be forced to grow, respond, to seek redemption, to bring Christ into your life, and finally, reach levels of perfection. If you choose to and cooperate you can. Otherwise not. By way of exhorting, how to become like Christ, the practice application. I haven’t heard it being taught in these audios thus far. I’m half way through #4, and I doubt in listening to the rest that I will either. Don’t get me wrong, I love all of this immensely. There is much I am being reminded of and things I am learning that are compounding and adding to what I have learned. It is priceless. That being said, there is a difference between feeling peace and assurance and confidence and actually exercising your creative faculties. One is incomplete without the other. Creation is your God given birthright and you can begin at once to create and grow in it right here and now. You just need the knowledge of application. Everything you need is already inside of you and is you. Check our the “Empowered To Have It All” series on my channel. Start at week 1.
Im listening to all the lecutres through this channel. One thing that im noticing is that Madsen certainly is not steelmanning his opposition. 20:30 is surprising as the complaint about reduction of claims to the absurd is something that LDS often suffers itself. For instance if all gods have a bodies, does Jesus have two following the incarnation and based on lecture 1, actally a plethora since the sacrifice on the cross occured on multiple planets? Also how does the Holy Spirit, which is fully God not have one? One must not thrown stones if one lives in a glass house.
That’s cool that you are exploring new ideas. Jesus did not have a body until the incarnation. He didn’t have a glorified resurrected body until after the resurrection. We all follow this same pattern. Jesus will always have a glorified body for eternity, going forward as will we, albeit to varying degrees. (1 Cor 15) The modern religious conception (Aquinas) is that this is not a process that God the Father passed through because they substituted the uncreated/uncaused (Aristotle) for the pattern that Christ and the scriptures lay out. There were not multiple sacrifices, there was one atonement for all of Gods creation. It’s a far larger atonement than modern creedal Christianity has conceived (not perceived) and it occurs on Earth because only a very wicked people would crucify their own creator. We win that award. The Holy Ghost spirit will also receive a glorified body at some point in the future.
