Without exaggeration, this is one of the greatest lectures I've heard in my life.
It saddens me that this has so few views while countless videos that spin, misconstrue and slander Joseph Smith get millions upon millions.
"No man knows my history. When the trump of the archangel shall sound and I am weighed in the balance, you will all know me then."
Indeed, a told-you-so of biblical proportions is coming.

Well said. I think we can draw particular analogies in the turbulent times in our day from this detailed verbal dramatization of the last events from personal eyewitness perspectives quoted from many of the contemporary saints of the day, some of which I’d never heard, who were given the chance to survive by the martyred Prophet and his brother, to escape to the Western US rather than to risk being victims of more blood shed in Missouri. Throw plural marriage into the fray, the hot topic of that day and it almost makes our struggles with LBGTQ seem analogous in some ways, too. (Sorry for such a rambling paragraph)
Joseph Smith, jokingly saying, “it was better to be a fallen prophet than not a prophet at all,” underlines how contradictory people can get, too. He was an unparalleled extraordinary accomplished man and leader given his humble beginnings. I’m sure on God’s top ten list, not the world’s of course, he will probably be one the greatest who ever lived, served and knew of the mysteries of God and for that purpose he gave his life willingly as his final witness to truth. That we may have in the final dispensation of time, the fullness of the gospel for those who are humble and faithful enough to receive it.

Just like the hatred towards the church and the people by the missourians back then, we have the same angry people walking around us with hatred still looking for the Saints of God and the church. Only bad thing is, the more the missionaries bring people into the church every year by the thousand, the hatred increases more and more by the thousands. This war between Good and Evil with the Lord's help the Saints will have Victory just like the war in heaven before , and now it is our turn to fight Another War between Good and Evil. There will be some Among Us singled out of the church by the missourians hatred offspring handed down from generation to generation until now, will be killed and the blood of the Saints will strengthen the saint even more before they try and destroy the church of God and Michael the archangel will fly through the midst of the Church of the firstborn to help fight this great war and the Saints with their testimonies marked on their hand and foreheads will prevail even in the future of eternal life.

I'm so grateful that I made the best decision in my life to become baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints! I can definitely share many miraculous things that have happened to me since my baptism and each day it just keeps getting better and I'm going to continue to claim that and to get through terminal illness and I know and trust in God's will for me as I love my heavenly father and thank him for his love for me and for Jesus our savior for the gifts of the holy spirit with discernment and to shine like a light and spread God's love to all I know and serve and I will be what I believe I love that song and I'm a Child of God I love primary so much I miss it because being sick but summertime is easier for me and I'm just so grateful for what I do have and what I can do and I am so thankful 4 the beauty of the many beautiful hearts that helped me through so much as I want to help anybody and everybody I can as well to know that we are so loved and there is such a greater plan bar for more than what we can understand and trusting it I definitely do and God bless y'all!🙏🏼☝️✌❤💪☝️🙏🏼

Prayers for you in your trials of illness sister. Your testimony is true and pure, like that of a little child. I can also bear witness of recent trials & without the help of the Holy Spirit, the Atonement of Jesus Christ & the kindly guiding hand and grace of God the Father, I could not & would not have gotten through them. But I am through them, & I am sustained & preserved through my own faith & testimony which I now bear to you. I know with every fiber of my soul that this church is the fully restored Gospel of Christ. God is at the helm, & his only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, who stands at the right hand of God the Father, is at the head of this church. That the Book of Mormon is the most accurately translated book on the face of the earth. That the teachings & records contained within the pages of that book reflect the life, love & teachings of the true Gospel of Christ. I testify that the Prophet Joseph Smith has done more for the salvation of mankind save Jesus alone, than any other man who has lived since or will ever live again. I love and sustain the Prophet of the modern day Russel M. Nelson and his quoroms & counselors. I bear testimony that the Priesthood has been restored to the earth, both Aaronic & Melchizedek, & that these priesthoods are the power & authority of God delegated to man. For I have heard it, seen it, lived it, & beheld it's power. I know that Holy Temples now dot the earth spreading the light and brightness of Holy ordinances and covenants just as the stars spread light and brightness to the firmament & galaxies above the darkness of the night sky. I pray & bless you that you may be healed & blessed & that your future may be as bright as those same stars, even as bright as your faith. Know that God knows you & loves you & wants the very best for you & for all of us. I bear this witness to you, in the name of the anointed one, King of Kings & Lord of Lords, our advocate with the Father, the author of our salvation, your friend and mine, even Jesus the Christ. Amen.

I knew early on that Joseph Smith translated The Book of Mormon and the truthfulness of it all. I know also that the Book of Mormon is a book of the Lord's people and Prophets and have been preserved in the United States for this main purpose. And I'm grateful for this history lesson about the early Saints and Joseph Smith. It has strengthened my testimony even more! I am truly privileged to be a part of the Church of Jesus Christ and the year 2022. I am grateful to have trials and throughout the years I look back how much I learned and how much time the Lord has help me alone the way. I have a different outlook on the trials of life now as just another obstacle thats when I grab a hold of the Lord's yoke , because his yoke is so much easier than mine.

I have been to those places (from the Philippines) that Historian Madsen is talking about in this lecture, I cried while I was there listening to the account of the Prophet's death and his faithful brother Hyrum. Now as I was llistening to this, I couldn't help but cry again, remembering the place, imagining how they suffered for us, the Saints after them. I pray that the younger generations would find interest in the history and later know more and gain more testimonies of the truthfulness of the True Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Thank you for your testimony of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We are Privileged to have you join us , and dedicating your life to the Lord through thick and thin we will survive. Myself I was baptized at 8 years old and grew up in the church but not always living as I should and that brought unhappiness until I come to the point of joining the Lord's people and now life gets better and better the older I get. Thank you for taking the time to share your testimony.

John Taylor, who became the third president of the church, testified concerning the death of Joseph Smith:
He, however, instantly arose, and with a firm, quick step, and a determined expression of countenance, approached the door, and pulling the six-shooter left by Brother Whellock from his pocket, opened the door slightly, and snapped the pistol six successive times; only three of the barrels, however, were discharged. I afterwards understood that two or three were wounded by these discharges, two of whom, I am informed died (History of the Church, vol. 7, pp. 102-3).
