Idk if you live in a humid climate like I do, but I also apply a light leave in, double cast in large sections right after the first application of mouse (not the next day) and then I smooth the Ouidad strong hold humidity gel in large sections and it lasts me 9 days NO BUN lol.. I have tighter curls than yours.
I don’t live in a humid climate lol. But I had no idea I could double cast before the mousse dries. The Ouidad gel is probably what’s getting you to 9 days, I gotta check that out!
I LOVE THIS PRODUCT!!! I am 68 with ear length hair when it dries. I the definition is so darn beautiful. It looks even better on day 2 and it definition last for about four to five days long for me. GET THIS PRODUCT. I got mine at Walmart.
Yes I tried this with the doux. First time I tried it it lasted me 3 days and then I doubled casted to last me the last 4 days… my curl pattern is tighter as well
You’ve convinced me to try this. I know MoKnowsHair showed it, but her texture is silkier and curls are looser. I couldn’t easily figure out how to use her styling products following her tutorials so I took her double casting method with a grain of salt. I’ve used foaming mousses to refresh before, and they do work very well on dry hair. Most don’t instruct to use on dry hair so I rarely do with the exception of the Just For Me Curl Peace Soft Curls Foaming Mousse. I’ve only ever used this method to hold me over a day or two until wash day. I didn’t know it could give that type of longevity. So I never put in the effort to see how well it worked. Thank you for showing this. I’m kind of going through a love hate relationship with my once beloved foaming mousses. Most leave a film on my hair that needs a stronger cleanser to remove. I couldn’t justify using an all purpose shampoo instead of a moisturizing one every 2 days because the style didn’t last. My busyish schedule often won’t allow me the time to properly dry my hair when using gel. So this double casting method will definitely come in handy.
She does have a different texture but I find her tutorials very educational. I’m so glad you found this helpful! I never thought to use the mousse to refresh but I will now! This method is definitely a time saver compared to waiting for a gel to dry. Thanks for watching 😄
I tend to stay away from women channels who don’t “mimic”/look like my hair texture/pattern. It’s usually a waste of time tbh. But I will be watching you more often because I finally found someone that has the same curl pattern and thick hair just like me! So most products MIGHT work for me if you use them. Thank you 🌸
I don't usually use a mousse as a primary styler because I never get enough days from my wng, but I do love mousse as a refresher. I am going try this double casting. Fingers crossed.
I just tried the mouse with pop lock and I’m currently on day 4, but it’s super dry and crunchy. Oil is not fixing it. The curls are still popping but hard. I did follow Instructions and used directly on freshly washed, bare hair. I’m going to try with leave in conditioner first. Did you refresh at all?
Ohhh I might have to try this combo. I don’t mind the crunch lol but I would def do a leave in first for some moisture. I didn’t refresh this style when I did it. Just reapplied the mousse the next day to achieve the cast.

Thank you! ☺️

Your hair and skin are beautiful! Could you do a skincare tutorial?
Thank you! I am planning on doing a skincare routine soon
Have you ever tried the double casting method with a mousse? Let me know how it worked for you!
I've never tried it before but I definitely will be after watching this!

Three days is pretty good for just a mousse!

Yayyyy. Glad you’re here! 🫶🏽
I watched the same Moknows hair video, my curl pattern is closer to yours so I'm going to try the double cast method.
Hope you like it!

Same here. I was skeptical from my past experience with mousse but the double cast worked for me. Good luck!

@@Jaheisha_ yes, the combo is shiny and long lasting! You wouldn’t need to recast with this combo for sure! Thank you for the update
What do you do to your hair at night?
I put it in a high pineapple and either put on my bonnet or sleep on a silk pillowcase.
This “double casting” technique is so genius🫨 can’t wait to try it
Right! Hope you love it too
