- The second part to my featherweight battlebot build named Derive, do check out part 1 for more context. Robowars 2024 is only one week away but there are still a few challenges to overcome.
If you're interested in getting involved in combat robotics there may be a club near you, they are often active on Facebook.
That sign on the lathe is 👌 xD
The one @ 6:54 ? But that means neither you or I can use it! 😂
Hahahaha
AvE
"NOT TO BE OPERATED BY F#CKWITS" Is probably the best danger sticker out there.
I need one of those stickers
@@colestephens9256 AVE on youtube is the guy that makes those stickers and other bumfuckery
You missed "Do not dumb here" at 2:58
funny how australians either fight miniscule 150g robots or massive 30lb feathers
I love how you explain concepts like the forks angle being designed to place the opponent at the perfect angle for the spinner to hit. This is a concept that seems so obvious after you explain it, but I had never really considered it until your video. You need more views/subs... algorithm algorithm?
The robot is looking is looking awesome James! Good luck for the event! Hope they stream the fights somewhere...
Unfortunately they don't stream as it's a paid spectator event, but I'm sure you can watch the footage later on
@@BrokenLinkRobotics good luck and looking forward to yout fight report!
I was wondering whether or not you had a horizontal config. Good to see that you do.
That shot of the mixture in the vacuum chamber was crazy cool!
I'm so excited to see it fight!
LETS FREAKING GOOOOOOOOOOOO NEW UPLOAD!!!!
Great work on the championship win
Should have named the larger Derive "Derivative"
thats one of the coolest bots ive seen. love your videos!!!
damn these robots are really good
What a great channel man, cant wait to see bigger robots fight :D
Great video❤ loving these videos so entertaining and learning so much keep making them
Damn, Derive is lookin' mean.
I've only just found your channel this week. Your bots on a other level, I don't know how you managed to cram so much into your 150g bots!
Just had a thought if you guys have a non-destructive event/class. You could make a 150g Claw Viper
@chrishorne1795 basically did the claw viper thing, but with much larger jaws. It's called Sketch I think I showed a little footage at some point.
Another great video James, keep 'em coming. Really sad that I'm not coming with you to Brisbane.
Can wait to see it fight

HELLO FROM BRAZIL 🎉 🇧🇷
Great work, but I don't really get all the different classes: ant weight, feather weight, 1 pound...
Aus Antweight 150g - US antweight 1lb - Beetleweight 1.36kg - Featherweight 13.6kg
could some one please tell me what software do these battle bot creators use to make prototypes of there battle bots
@SHADOWKNIGHT2444 I use the CAD software Fusion 360, one can get a hobby license for free. Onshape and Solid works are also good options
I'm in Sydney, any idea of tournaments or groups that are active? The links to groups I've found are either old or dead. I mostly just want to see some of these little beasties in person.
@dittilio Look up 'Sydney Robot Combat' on facebook, they are an active club
Damnn
@oliverwilliams296 oi finish your ant
What type of drivetrain is this? I can see it uses tank drive (or a form of it), but it seems way more maneuvarable and responsive than a normal one. Is this just because of the faster speed, or does the code automatically adjust its heading to be relative to where the joystick is pointing, with forward on the joystick always forward relative to the bots starting position, kind of like field centric?
@goblin no smarts just 4wd standard tank drive. The drivetrain is wider than long so it steers better than average. Motors are also very powerful with grippy tires
@@BrokenLinkRobotics oh ok, thanks!
Is nosliding a tm reference?
isn't that a positive rake?
NOOOOOOOO ITS ALREADY OVER RAHHH
my exact thought
2 months :)😊
