When I use this ship on the PT (I don't have on the Main Servers as I only have the Tier II JP DD) I really wish to be to do this much damage! When I get to deal 30.000 to 40.000 damage is a lot! Simply because on the PT servers this ship, when I use it is cursed! Every time there's a CV, every time I'm stuck in a smocke screen, shooting down planes, because the CV is "out for my blood" I only can get out by the end of the game when there's only the CV left and my team mates band togheter to take down planes, at that time I can shut off the AA defenses and start firing torps and shells at the CV. Always ends up broke afterward, because maintanace costs are extreme since this is a Super Ship. 😭
Aside from the burst fire guns is there anything the Yamagiri does significantly better than the Shimikaze to make the 360,000 service cost for every match worth it? I can see on the wiki it can swap between torpedo types/ranges but this guy just left it on 8km the whole time. Considering the 20km torps are spotted from too far away to be effective (so we can just rule them out) - it seems like a Shima with 12km torps would perform just as well as this Yama. They have the same surface detection, 0.5kt different in top speed (not enough to really be noticeable) but the Shima has significantly better rudder shift time and turning radius. On paper, the Yamagiri seems like a complete waste of silver to me - unless I'm missing something obvious.
Yamagiri has 4650 more HP (With SE in consideration), which is pretty significant bringing its HP pool from worst in tier to average(T 10/11 combined, pure T11 in-tier competition doesn't happen that often). Also 3 more torpedoes per salvo, 5x3 to 6x3. This survivability combined with the torps makes her an excellent all-rounder, similar to 2016 era Gearing, instead of a dead-ass torpedo bote like shima. People spend credits on her because of the unique role she plays, which she really stands out on among T11 dds.
@@forge16hanadamaintenancedr43 Absolutely! On top of that the 20km torps are not useless, especially when you use the 8km ones as main. The reload speed is really quick and one can use the 8km ones for aggressive plays and capturing points while the 20km ones can help with area denial if everything goes wrong. Occasionally they can hit an unsuspecting CV which is also very rewarding. Onto the guns - this combo: [one regular salvo -> one burst -> smoke & reload -> one burst] usually kills an enemy DD and they have a very tiny window to react. The guns are accurate and a burst fire can drop about 10K from most DDs. My main problem with Yamagiri are the CVs - a good CV player can make my life miserable in any ship and it's especially true in a sneaky DD. Radar cruisers and DDs are not that relevant as they can usually be avoided by good positioning. I have a full-AA spec Dalarna but it almost never sees CVs, however in my Yamagiri games I almost always have one hunting me :(
@@joachimprien4160What people tend to forget is that a captain stays trained on the research ship even if allocated to a premium. So you can always call the captain back to the research ship he is trained to. I use that i.e. for my Lütjens. He is my standard premium captain, but he is trained on the Hannover for the fun moments.
But when he was sailing around the island he was within Missouri's spotting range, he got spotted and hit pretty hard for it, maybe could have died. And completely unneccessarily, he could have just stayed farther away from the island.@@trident6547
8km super fast torps are suicidal. Given how large radar range is and how small some top tier maps are. This build isn’t viable with more than 1 enemy radars on a small map.
On the contrary, 8km shima is the ultimate test on how well you can torpedoboat. You as an experienced destroyer player should be able to slip in between radars and nail an enemy flank with a well placed torpedo salvo. 8km also encourages you to get close and not hang back in spawn, not helping your team out by not spotting.
Bad players will cry about submarines and then say DD which essentially do the same are fair and skillful play tactics. What a joke. GG to that player.
Over 300k dmg with torps and the BBs/CAs had no chance of counterplay. But where are all the complaining comments about such a OP class? Ah, I forgot, It's only unfair if a sub does it.
How many ships can fit in a single cap?
This team: "Hold on. We'll check."
Hi @TopTier - World of Warships, great video
Very risky but also very rewarding game.
Well done. 👍
The way he sink the halland was amazing play. He is a master.
When your team tries to throw this hard, anything bout 350k+ isnt enough to carry lol
lol that first kill omg
The San Marrtin having spotted the Yama with radar sails out from behind an island with broadside towards the enemy. What could go wrong there? /s
The first kill with torpedoes was crazy!!!! that was a perfect strike.

whats the better CV line?

Thank god I don’t bother playing beyond tier 7 anymore.
Is it just me who is always disappointed when a Japanese ship gets a kraken and they don’t have Yamamoto as skipper?
If it's an ordinary research ship, then Yamamoto's shuffling doesn't make sense...
Except on premium and unique ships.
yea way to expensive swaping him arround every day

So to most players...
I think he got way too close to the Missouri for no reason
6,Torp range only 8 km. Missouri radar range 9 km. The BB player probably one of those that spends one radar activation on spawn.

To the San Martin player, please hurry and uninstall.
В игре должен быть ограниченный запас торпед. Максимум на пару залпов
And I buy it and die with 15k damage…. gg
that's why i don't buy supership
knowing that i'm a noob, as soon as i buy and play supership i will lose credits :(

艦長台灣人嗎?
First kill was pure luck
funny how people can have great games without OP subs and Cvs
Without?
@@trident6547 thanks, corrected
I’m calling BS on this player.
So many of his hits were on ships he didn’t even know was there.
Rpf and game knowledge.
ghost hunters needed. This game is still garbage.
Красиво отыграл,опасно приблизился но успел аккуратно отойти.
