I honestly don't think there WOULD be a Samurai if Yasuke wasn't in this and/or Ghost of Tsushima didn't exist. I think it's a blend of both going on here. Like I expect Yasuke was always in the pie as a historical 'side character' but post Ghost of Tsushima they went amblng through their list of Samurai characters and decided he was the most like... prominent figure vs a host of more or less 'faceless' Samurai dudes with little work put into their personalities beyond being side characters. Personally... I don't know why there's a playable Samurai in an AC game at all. He can't even free run? What's the point of him? It should have just been the Ninja girl's game entirely. Most people will try him out, realize that when playing as him you CAN'T DO ASSASSINS CREED, and revert to the character that's doing Assassin's Creed. I don't think a Japanese Samurai's involvement would even address this. It'd be the same issue. Can't free run? Then why bother? We already have a perfect Japanese Samurai game, it's called Ghost's of Tsushima. That's the place to live out your Samurai fantasies. Assassin's Creed should just be taking our ninja fantasies up to 11 and not waste resources where people aren't going to care.
Funny I and many others have been waiting years to play a female assassin! Admittedly I don't much have any interest in Yasuke as I've heard he can't really freerun... he feels to me like a character who was meant to just be one of the 'historical' character's in the oven akin to the historical characters in other games , but post Ghost of Tsushima they decided to make playable as some sort of 'but they did Samurai so we need to do Samurai' sort of thing... IMO Asassins Creed is a game about NINJA'S to begin with and didn't need a Samurai. I have no issues with Yasuke himself being involved... though I can vibe with some Japanese folk who'd have liked to play a male Japanese samurai character..... This game does have not Japanese or samurai souls, even in this video there are some glitches, I think this is another good game for YT channels who are seeking glitches in games.

I play assassin's creed for the scenery and how it looks and shadows is looking alright to be honest👍 I'll be giving it a go, graphically looks very impressive

@TheChicero I think the difference that they are backed up by Sony and can take much longer in the development cycle. This is where ubisoft fails. I think ubisoft has tremendous talent but they rush their games way too much and tackling like 3 4 games at once. If ubisoft did just like Rockstar did and take their sweet time on one single game, they would regain their reputation.

C'est un jeu vidéo. Pour ceux qui ne s'y retrouvent pas, allez vous ouvrir un livre d'histoire. Des bugs dans les jeux, il y en a toujours eu ; ceux qui n'en ont jamais eu mentent clairement. Même dans Red Dead, il y a des bugs. À la base, si j'achète un jeu, c'est pour m'amuser, pas pour prendre des cours d'histoire. Et s'il y a quelques bugs dans l'animation, ça passe tellement vite. Je n'ai jamais pris le temps de regarder une bande-annonce frame par frame, car malgré mon pseudo, je ne suis pas un psychopathe. Si vous achetez le jeu, faites-le pour vous amuser.
Le genre d’égocentrique comme toi on en peut plus « JE n’ai pas de problème avec ce jeu » « JE ne veux pas de cours d’histoire » au pire tu peux respecter les gens et notamment l’avis des japonais qui se sentent littéralement insulté car de nombreux assets utilisés dans le jeu ne sont juste pas japonais mais proviennent de chine et d’Asie du Sud ? Que le seul personnage samouraï jouable est noir, comme si les japonais n’était pas assez charismatique pour être samouraï. Je rajouterai même que soit tu ne connais rien à la license assassin’s creed soit tu as décidé d’oublier ce qu’elle est. Cette license a toujours été portée sur l’histoire et a toujours respecté le matériel de base sans pousser un agenda, en faisant appel à des historiens. Ici, ils voulaient tellement imposé un personnage noir et leur agenda qu’ils nous font jouer pour la première fois en tant que protagoniste un véritable personnage historique. Ça n’était jamais arrivé auparavant donc on est en droit de se poser la question du pourquoi autant forcer. Ton avis tu as le droit de l’avoir et il est respectable, maintenant apprends à respecter celui de ceux qui ne sont pas d’accord avec toi et ne leur dis sûrement ce qu’ils doivent faire « aLlEz AcHeTeR uN lIVrE ».

Good n new - Weather system, stealth elements, nature sounds, hopefully good music Unknown - lived in world where npc having comversation in background, side mission design being not repetitive , main mission design story driven and ability to experience diverse world elements, smarter enemy npc, one click fast travel n navigation elements upon world discovery, new martial arts moves, newer weapons for stealth play.
Unfortunately and very sadly, the assassin creed game was completely destroyed. What a pity for Altair, Ezio ,Connor,and kenway.(Prestige, manhood, chivalry, glory and legend) We are sorry for what happened to the story.
Woof, looks rough... really rough... and I say that as someone really happy with the Yasuke / Naoe castings. Scenery is gorgeous, but I don't get a sense that the gameplay is anything more than a husk. The destruction is a nice touch that will lose appeal fast as it's far to dynamic and unrealistic. I want power fantasy as a tactician, not a power fantasy as a fruit slicer who has to watch canned attack animations play at the end of a "boorish" stealth sequence. Why is AC's stealth so "non-gameplay" these days... I guess the Parkour Fantasy is always there... that is something the look forward to at least...

Yasuke is the first AC protagonist that isn't completely made up. They should have just made a fictional black samurai. I thinked they used a historical figure in hopes that the neckbeards wouldn't complain, or at least complain less. Didn't work though. Every AC Shadows has hordes of incel racists making the same "clever" remarks :(

It's unfortunate that after years of fans clamoring for an Assassin's Creed set in Japan, the excitement feels diminished. Had the game been released earlier, the hype could have been immense. However, every scene now invites comparisons to Ghost of Tsushima, and unfortunately, it comes across as a watered-down version of that iconic game.
This is beyond ridiculous. I started nodding off toward the end. I'll wait to see what people say, I'm not going to involve myself with the day 1 drama. Can't even get a Japanese Samurai. By their logic Bayek should have been a Japanese Medjay. I can tell I am not going to care about the story of this game, if I play it that is.
I really have to get this game asap... Not a fan of Yasuke choice as the samurai of the team but I have to admit the shinobi infiltration and moves look like Tenchu or Shinobido. I may buy when it will be low price.

@TheChicero I think the difference that they are backed up by Sony and can take much longer in the development cycle. This is where ubisoft fails. I think ubisoft has tremendous talent but they rush their games way too much and tackling like 3 4 games at once. If ubisoft did just like Rockstar did and take their sweet time on one single game, they would regain their reputation.

C'est un jeu vidéo. Pour ceux qui ne s'y retrouvent pas, allez vous ouvrir un livre d'histoire. Des bugs dans les jeux, il y en a toujours eu ; ceux qui n'en ont jamais eu mentent clairement. Même dans Red Dead, il y a des bugs. À la base, si j'achète un jeu, c'est pour m'amuser, pas pour prendre des cours d'histoire. Et s'il y a quelques bugs dans l'animation, ça passe tellement vite. Je n'ai jamais pris le temps de regarder une bande-annonce frame par frame, car malgré mon pseudo, je ne suis pas un psychopathe. Si vous achetez le jeu, faites-le pour vous amuser.
Le genre d’égocentrique comme toi on en peut plus « JE n’ai pas de problème avec ce jeu » « JE ne veux pas de cours d’histoire » au pire tu peux respecter les gens et notamment l’avis des japonais qui se sentent littéralement insulté car de nombreux assets utilisés dans le jeu ne sont juste pas japonais mais proviennent de chine et d’Asie du Sud ? Que le seul personnage samouraï jouable est noir, comme si les japonais n’était pas assez charismatique pour être samouraï. Je rajouterai même que soit tu ne connais rien à la license assassin’s creed soit tu as décidé d’oublier ce qu’elle est. Cette license a toujours été portée sur l’histoire et a toujours respecté le matériel de base sans pousser un agenda, en faisant appel à des historiens. Ici, ils voulaient tellement imposé un personnage noir et leur agenda qu’ils nous font jouer pour la première fois en tant que protagoniste un véritable personnage historique. Ça n’était jamais arrivé auparavant donc on est en droit de se poser la question du pourquoi autant forcer. Ton avis tu as le droit de l’avoir et il est respectable, maintenant apprends à respecter celui de ceux qui ne sont pas d’accord avec toi et ne leur dis sûrement ce qu’ils doivent faire « aLlEz AcHeTeR uN lIVrE ».

Unfortunately and very sadly, the assassin creed game was completely destroyed. What a pity for Altair, Ezio ,Connor,and kenway.(Prestige, manhood, chivalry, glory and legend) We are sorry for what happened to the story.

Woof, looks rough... really rough... and I say that as someone really happy with the Yasuke / Naoe castings. Scenery is gorgeous, but I don't get a sense that the gameplay is anything more than a husk. The destruction is a nice touch that will lose appeal fast as it's far to dynamic and unrealistic. I want power fantasy as a tactician, not a power fantasy as a fruit slicer who has to watch canned attack animations play at the end of a "boorish" stealth sequence. Why is AC's stealth so "non-gameplay" these days... I guess the Parkour Fantasy is always there... that is something the look forward to at least...

Yasuke is the first AC protagonist that isn't completely made up. They should have just made a fictional black samurai. I thinked they used a historical figure in hopes that the neckbeards wouldn't complain, or at least complain less. Didn't work though. All they have to do is delay the game and make some slight story adjustments which they could do and it would easily take away some of the backlash they are facing ! It's unfortunate that after years of fans clamoring for an Assassin's Creed set in Japan, the excitement feels diminished. Had the game been released earlier, the hype could have been immense. However, every scene now invites comparisons to Ghost of Tsushima, and unfortunately, it comes across as a watered-down version of that iconic game.
