If it was a somewhat linear story in the core, it would've made a great movie. Casey Hudson, the director of the trilogy, did an amazing work. You can tell the difference between his work and the new Mass Effect, Andromeda. Nowhere near as immersive, the story is mediocre at best, the characters are simply impossible to attach to. The original trilogy was a masterpiece. I replay it once a year, every year, after 2013 when I first played it. I liked the second game so much, I played it 7 times in one month trying to get a perfect ending to import in the third game, because the decisions you make in previous games matter in the sequels, and one choice you make in the first game for example, will alter the story line of the two future games. It is structured beautifuly.
Be aware though. origin will wipe your games. I had to work overseas for 8 months (without gaming PC access) and they wiped my games and didn't let me re-install despite sending messages to customer support :(
This is a good video, but it can't accurately explain the depth of the richness of the storytelling in this universe. I cannot recommend Mass Effect 1, 2 and 3 highly enough.
Mass Effect was such an amazing series. My fave game franchise of all time, and I've been gaming a long, long time.
This is the only game that made me actually tear up.
I got a little goosebump while watching this. Nice reaction
One of the most powerful videogames I've ever played in some of the events in the game are so emotional they feel painful
