I just talked to Mat at CNW about the starter sprague upgrade, now that I know the problem I will check my parts to see if they are warn. Great video as always. I am in the fun parts ordering phase of my MK3 rebuild.
Good Morning I don't know if you've seen it but have a look at chris rooke utube channel he's had problems with a NORVIL built Commando and it would appear some of the problems are with the lubrication on the sprag bearings. Very informative and enjoyable build on the Commando, well done.
The Mk3 with a non adjustable transmission isn't a logical solution for a belt drive not to mention nobody makes a Mk3 front belt drive pulley with sprag capability and the reason for that is the sprag and bearings need oiling.
Now go get yourself a Dyno Dave starter motor and enjoy your new electric start daily driver. While you are at it reach out to Jim Schmidt for a reusable silicone fiberglass reinforced gasket.

Awesome thanks for the great comment,

Did you consider fitting a belt primary drive at this point?
