When i watch it last year i wanted the guy to win although i love Solar but i was mesmerize by the beautiful voice of the guy. My friend said that the girl will win and i ask why? Even if both have the beautiful voice but She said that Solar is in advantage because of her high notes who over power the guy's voice when she sing or when they blend. I was like ooohhh! I see....0_0!!!! Then i realize why their CEO made her the main vocal and not Wheein or Hwasa though they have both equally beautiful voice. The 2 have a calming voice when they sing even their high notes that makes you internalize the lyrics but Solar have the grit/power when she sing, that gives emphasis to the lines in their songs. Her voice will shoot you directly in your heart.
No. Wheein and Hwasa are good (especially Wheein), but Solar is the best overall. There's a reason Solar also has solo releases. She's sort of like Solji lite.

For Wheein, she loves Ariana and is influenced a lots by Ari so her falsetto register is more developped compare to other members, for falsetto as techniques or soft/airy voice, she and Hwasa are tight. However, Wheein did sometimes strain in upper register, she did squish high note, have high larynx and pick some unhealthy habit from Ari that she does often: nasal singing. For Solar, she's a fan of Whitney, there is no doubt, her singing style is chesty mix - it's not a bad thing, it's hard and is a desiable thing in pop music and the comment was right, Solar sing beautifully due to the definition of bel canto by this technique. Another thing from Whitney is that Solar's resonance is the best in mamamoo. However, she also sometimes train in upper belt, push chest voice, nasal. There is a reason Solar was chose to be the main vocalist, her timbre is beautiful, her sense of music is good. Still, I agree that Wheein is a underrated vocalist in mamamoo not because people did not appreciate her but because she didn't go on show often, she's shy and introvert, in Korea people still praise Wheein for her vocal so there is no need to comment that she's the best (which is not true) all over the internet.

tbh solar's voice is just all-around too excellent. her voice has that quality that just makes it incredibly pleasant to pretty much everyone who hears it, so it's hard to decisively describe her voice... other singers' voices are identifiable because of certain quirks (which may sound unpleasant to some people) but solar's voice is just all-around pleasant.

타고난 보컬들의 듀엣이네.....ㅎㄷㄷ 워낙 타고난 목소리가 좋은데 불필요한 기교는 오히려 자기 목소리의 장점을 가리는 거추장스러운 장식일뿐. 어쨌든 그야말로 멋진 퍼포먼스네. Outstanding~!! :)
