That pocket hole jig looks really similar to the Massca jig which means it might work with the ARMOR TOOL auto adjust In-Line Clamp upgrade; it works really well on the Massca.
Oh nice! I've eyed that Massca for quite some time. I think 731 really likes it. Looks like a nice piece of equipment as well. I'm going to have to check out that Armor tool auto adjust now! Thanks for sharing and watching!
I like your unhurried, clear presentation - it's very nice. Thank you, for making these and sharing them.
I really appreciate that James! Thanks so much for your kind words and thanks for watching!
I love your sense of humor ... Your channel is growing nicely Congrats on the growth and success..
That's very kind of you Robert! I appreciate that! Thank you so much and thank you for watching!
Looks like GoingMake may be getting some of my business.
Haha! I've been really impressed with them so far. I actually used their pocket hole jig this week for a cabinet I built for our kitchen! Thanks so much for watching as always Damon!
Thanks for all the tools you've shown. Been working with plywood more often and this will really help with making thin strips.
Glad you liked it Norm! I used this jig a bunch this week for some edge banding I just did on a cabinet I made for my kitchen. Worked like a charm!
Thank you for sharing this update of the tools with us. Everyone stay safe, happy and healthy. From Henrico County Virginia
You as well Norm! Thanks as always for watching!
Excellent! I added the shelf pin jig to my Amazon "wish" list. I already have the Goingmake T-Square 12".
Oh nice! Those t-rulers are solid! Thanks so much for watching afpitbull!
@@FlynndoggWoodwork I'm very pleased with the T-Square. Catch you next time.
Thanks for sharing these nice tools. You are very humorous.
Haha! Well, I don't know about that but I like to have fun. Not everyone finds me funny! :) But I appreciate the compliment and thanks for watching!
Really enjoyed this new video Flynndog, awesome job and always informative and detailed review! Shop is looking Great!
Thanks so much man! I appreciate that! I'm actually about ready to build some cabinets for the shop as well. I tested the waters for a cabinet in my kitchen this week to see how it looks and I was pleased. So I think I can build something for the shop now. Probably should have done it the other way around! :)
@@FlynndoggWoodwork I used the kitchen cabinets in my first shop and bought new ones for a total remodel for the wife's kitchen area in our first house some 35yrs ago! yes shops do need to come first! Really like and learn new tricks and features from the videos! Don't stop!
@@lespaulguitarmn1 Love it!
Great video as always Bryan I have bought the tee square and the thin rip jig from watching your videos and love them both. Getting ready to start building my first workbench hopefully in a couple of weeks and going to add bench dog holes in it so I need to pickup a couple of them clamps. Thanks for sharing as always Bryan have a great rest of your weekend.🍻
Awesome glad to hear it Jim! That's very exciting. Always fun to start getting your shop together. I feel like i'm in the same boat. My shop functions now but I have a lot of plans for the future. Thanks as always for watching and have a great week!
I’m STILL! pleased I discovered your channel. The tools, the companies you’ve shown I would have never known existed. I’m especially interested in the thin ripping jig. I have and use extensively a Shopsmith. I’m pleased they have a collapsible miter bar.
Again I thank you for the insights you provide. 👍👍
Thanks so much John! I appreciate that. I’m having a lot of fun exploring a lot of these lesser known brands as well! Have a great weekend!
Absolutely Cool and Genius tool!
Well done!
Thanks so much Robert! I appreciate that and thanks for watching!
Your descriptions and reviews are extremely thorough. My favorite tool reviewer!
Haha! You are too kind. Not sure i deserve that, but I appreciate it. Thanks fro watching!
Agreed, “an inch” does make a hell of a difference lol. Another informative AND entertaining video.
Haha! Thanks so much Pat! I appreciate you watching!
Great video and discussion of the new tools and upgrades to them. Your friend needs a chill pill I think!!
I don't disagree! Thanks so much for watchign Lutzboater!
Me me me me me
Bang-bad
😂😂😂😂😂
Joking aside, another great video containing more great tools. Thank you.
Thanks so much Slywolf! :) Have a great week!
I am really liking this newer brand of tool. The thin tip jig is the standout for me. Nice work putting this video together and I like the live TH-cam counter display too. Cheers 👍😎🇦🇺
I'm a big fan of that thin rip jig as well. Really nice for the price. Haha! I've seen that counter on other channels before and always wondered where they got it. Finally found it on amazon! You have a good eye! :). Thanks for watching John!
Another good video, Bryan. These guys are driving down some of these crazy expensive tool manufacturers with quality and accurate products. 👍🏽
I sure hope so! Thanks so much for watching as always Micheal!
just got the hige jig ,be trying it out next week.
Oh nice! I just used mine on Friday! Really worked pretty well! Thanks so much for watching and commenting Rod!
Good video. These upgrades are welcomed but I would consider the upgrades incremental.
Yep! I would also consider most of them incremental. Thanks so much for watching abelesparza!
nicely done
Thanks so much David! I appreciate you watching!
With the pocket hole jig, the collar sets the same as the dowelmax system. The main difference is that dowelmax drill bits have two flat sides ides for the set screws and two set screws on the collar.
Thanks for sharing and watchign liquidrockaquatics!
I think the enhancements are great. Already great tools, further improved.
Thanks so much for watching gteam53, glad you liked them!
I knew I wasn't seeing things couple of months back. I thought I'd saw the pocket hole jig made by them. Got back on there and couldn't find it again but now I know. Leave Bert in there. He's pretty darn funny. I don't care what the rest of them might say. I like the videos. Keep it up. You're doing a great job
Thanks Robert! I don't think Burt will go anywhere. I have fun with my alter ego. I'll take a break from him here and there but If I'm not having fun, this channel doesn't exist. Thanks much for watching Robert!
I just ordered the newer version of the thin rip jig. It's on sale right now(25% off). Thanks for the tip!
And I ordered the 3D angle ruler( also 25% off right now ). Dang, I'm going to go broke watching you :-)
Oh nice! Thanks for sharing! An even better value! Thanks for watching Gazman!
Great video.
Thanks so much Ken! I appreciate you watching!
The Kreg does actually allow for you to remove guide from the jig and attach it to any board freely, and it only takes one screw to remove it from the jig unlike two screws for the Going Make.
Yes, you can remove it but I don't think that is not the intent for the removable piece. There is no lip/hook to set your distance for the guide once it is removed. I've never seen it used in that fashion, but maybe I'm wrong! Wouldn't be the first itme! :) Thanks for watching Pepperman9!
@@FlynndoggWoodwork That pocket hole jig is just a rip off of the Massca M2 Pro.
@@robertvoorhis867 I think most pocket hole jigs are ripoffs of the Kreg jig!
Rip off's or improvements?
Is it me or both square next to each other the goingmake 1inch start at 7/8 of the woodpecker (they can't be perfectly align with their t shape) but the going make 4" ends up just after the woodpecker. Are they at an angle that would justify this?
Good catch someone else mentioned this as well. It is definitely the angle. I've tested both squares even at every scribe hole and they perfectly line up.
Why does the wiggle matter? It goes away when you clamp a piece of wood. When would you use it without a piece of wood in the clamp? Love the video, thanks for all your help.
I agree with you! It doesn't matter. That's why I was saying that issue was negated once a piece of wood was put in. It did kind of concern me that it might knock the height out of alignment if it moved like that. Thanks so much for watching jazzdad!
I went online looking for those Goingmake T squares again, unfortunately the ones available here in the UK are also marked only in inches. Hopefully they'll bring out an entirely metric range too. I realise some of their other tools are marked with both, but the T squares also have to accommodate scribing intervals. One measurement system on both sides also allows use of the tool along either edge.
I think Burt may be on to something. When pronounced "me-me" instead of "meem", it sounds like a good name for disingenuous posts where the true motivation is attention seeking.
That would be a great idea! I think they could give up the 32nd of inches and do 16ths, then do metric in it's place. That would be a really nice tool. Haha! Love it about the meme. I just learned how to pronounce it myself about a year ago. I still don't exactly know what a meme is, and my kids even told me some of the clips I used were memes.... I'm learning all sorts of things from them the older I get!
OK, why is the 20mm bench dog clamp $10 more than the 3/4"?
Maybe they want a piece of Festool's action? If they do, it should be green. If they can do Woodpeckers colors, they should also do Festool's! 😁
Haha! That's a great question! I didn't even realize that! Good catch and thanks for watching kwilliams!
@@FlynndoggWoodwork They are the same price now.
@@no-page Oh good! :)
Since I've been watching your channel I've been purchasing some of those tool's you've recommended and am very happy with the purchase and the quality of them. But I'm looking for a good quality self centering dowel jig under 40 bucks. Any suggestions you have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and keep up with the video's because they help me with my decision with what is good tool's and which to walk away from. Thanks again.
Thanks so much Pat! I actually have one that I purchased on amazon that I'm quite happy with. I bought it a long time ago. I liked it because it was a decent price and had a good expansion ability. Here is a link: amzn.to/3Uppxnm
Best of luck Pat!
Thank you very much for the information I really appreciate it.
@@Pat64783 my pleasure! :)
I'm really surprised you didn't use the clip from the classic screwball comedy "Ball of Fire" when the professor is observing the paperboy's colorful language and he turns to the professor (Gary Cooper) and tells him: Scram you're giving me the screaming memes.
BTW just bought the thin rip jig. Appears to be great quality at a great price. Thanks, always trust your recommendations.
Haha! Oh man! Missed opportunity there! Thanks so much for watching. You'll like that thin rip jig. I was just using it on Thursday for some edge banding. Worked very nicely! Thanks so much for watching Greg!
@@FlynndoggWoodwork No problem. You should send this post to Goingmake to show them by sending you the tools to review, it does have the effect they are looking for. Hey who doesn't need more tools?
@@gregghernandez2714 No doubt! :)
Interesting.
Thanks so much for watching Robert!
How do you use the scale on the thin rip jig? As there is no way to set 0 to be at the edge of the blade, the scale does not mean anything, whether it is in 16ths or 32nds. Do you know a secret?
I don't disagree with you. I've found that problem with almost every thin rip jig I've owned. I think it's more about relative measurement once you align it to your blade. Great point. If you find one that sets to zero once it hits your blade I'd love to take a look at it. I've had 3-4 over my career and they all have this fundamental issue.
Dogg man, seems like every day is Christmas in your shop. There is always something to be opened. Now, we got guys, you want we should help you out with effing Burt? After all, accidents do happen in shops. You said, "unit." And that "unit" has a tip, what? A little wiggle is good with a "unit." Did you then say, "slop?" Whoo wee...! That extra inch is everything. Size does matter. Also, the extra reach goes without saying...so we won't; but, you know. Sorry man, the comments have been childish, but recovery is boring. Another great video, thumbs up, brother!
Haha! Love it Meat. Thanks so much for watching as always. Lots of missed opportunities on this one. I always seem to notice it when I'm editing. Burts leaving for the next couple of videos, I've already got them filmed. He'll be back, but it's nice to have the place to myself for a bit! :)
@@FlynndoggWoodwork I don't he'll be sorely missed. Good weekend, Dogg.
@@themeat5053 You as well Meat!
Is it me or did the inches not match on the t-squares?
Might have been the camera angle and the placement of the two t-squares. In order to get the rulers next to each other they had to overlap a bit. Great catch and thanks fro watching!
Is there significance to going from 24” to 32”:on the squares instead of maybe 36”. 32 seems like a weird number
You know that is a great question. I've never understood that either. You would think they would just go every 12'' or 6''. Even my woodpeckers t-square is 32 vs. 36. I'd love to hear why that is if anyone knows. Great question, and thanks for watching Greg!
The drill guide on the Kreg jig is removable, look again.
Yes, you can remove it but I don't think that is not the intent for the removable piece. There is no lip/hook to set your distance for the guide once it is removed. I've never seen it used in that fashion, but maybe I'm wrong! Thanks for watching Doctor Ping!
Hum... Seems like someone has been bribed with lots of gift to vouch for them :D
Not the case, these are quality tools! Thanks for watching
the kregg can be removed and be used on larger pieces
You aren’t the only person to mention this. I believe it can be removed but there is no way to know where to set it once it is removed. You could measure it sure, but it doesn’t have the adjustable lip. At least mine doesn’t, maybe some of the newer versions do? Thanks so much for watch henslee!
chop suey
:) That reminds me of an old song! Thanks for watching Paul!
you piqued my interest but after checking things out, i think i would rather make my own rather than buy the woodpecker knockoffs made in china
Great idea HotzMichel! Good luck to you, that should be a fun project! Thanks for watching!
You've done a really great job in reviewing these tools. I'm not into that schtick from Bert though, I had to skip that, tbh, it doesn't work for me.
I do have to say it's a damned shame that there are infomercials being voluntarily made for cheap Chinese tools by American tradesmen, then we wonder why all the manufacturing jobs wind up overseas and where China's money is coming from to beef up their military. These are tools made in a communist country, let's not forget that.
I do realize that almost everything is made in China nowadays, but promoting their products above American made ones (Woodpeckers) just seems: un-American.
And then we want to blame the politicians for the state of the economy.
Kind of a darned shame.
Thanks so much for watching TheLast Pharm!
I really enjoy your videos except for the Burt or Bert part. Lose him.
Thanks for the feedback and thanks for watching MrLeram12!
Any country but China.
Thanks for watching
I’m not subscribed, but if you will get rid of that damn clanging bell to try to get people to subscribe I will. That is the single most annoying premade sound that anyone could use that makes me not subscribe. Hell, use a bell of your own and a sledgehammer! It would be hilarious and unique.
I agree with you! I've been trying to adjust that thing for a couple of months now. I did a quick fix for my next video.
