  • Once the Airzone system has been configured, the amount of air needed for each zone is adjusted. The Airzone system has the following options available for this:
    1. Q-Adapt function
This allows you to define the flow control algorithm that best fits the duct installation. This function is configured from the zone settings menu on the Blueface thermostat.
If offers 5 options to choose from:
    • Standard. This is the default factory setting. Select the ventilation speed to maintain balance between the airflow supply and the sound level in the zone, depending on the number of zones on demand.
    • Power. This allows you to increase the airflow supply when there are fewer zones on demand, perfect for installations that require increased thermal power in the zones.
    • Silence. This optimizes acoustic comfort. The system works at a lower speed than in Standard mode to improve noise reduction.
    • Minimum. In this case, whether one or all the zones are on demand, the AC unit maintains the lowest ventilation speed.
    • Maximum. The system functions at maximum speed, independently of the number of zones on demand.
    2. Proportionality
The Airzone system offers the possibility of controlling the gradual opening of the dampers in order to offer more gentle variation in the airflow supply. This option is accessed from the system advanced settings menu on the master Blueface thermostat. Select Type of opening and the option Proportional.
The system will open in four stages based on the difference in temperature between room temperature and set-point temperature.
    3. Airflow regulation
Each of the dampers included in the Easyzone plenum has an airflow regulation mechanism. The balancing of airflows is a repetitive process involving adjusting and correcting the flow until the desired balance is reached. Please take into account the fact that each installation will have its own characteristics and requirements.
The default position of the regulator is 100% open.
To balance the airflow repeat these steps:
    1. Put all the zones on demand and use an anemometer to measure the airflow at all outputs.
    2. Those outputs with greater airflow than needed must be adjusted to balance them with the needs of the installation. To do this, turn off the zone to be adjusted and go back to the plenum to limit the maximum airflow using the airflow regulation mechanism incorporated in the motorized damper.
    3. Go back to the adjusted zone and put it on demand.
    4. Repeat the process for all the zones.
These graphs show an example of airflows in a real installation.
    4. Regulation of minimum airflow
Each damper in the motorized plenum also has an adjustment for minimum airflow which can be configured so that each zone also receives a minimum airflow supply from the AC unit.
This is adjusted with the damper open and ensuring that more than one zone has demand. Adjust it. Then turn off the zone and verify that the airflow supply to the zone is as desired.
