Thank you very much for this very informative video. I wish I have come across this earlier. I just spent two full weeks of my waking hours going through numerous TH-cam tutorials but this is the BEST!!! Now. I better run to Home Depot before they run out of humongous terracota pots!
It humidifies the air too. Particularly good for dry places and specially in winter. The sound of water is naturally soothing and the way it looks is pleasant to the eyes.
This is great, I like the aesthetic but my issue is the 60lbs of gravel plus water weight plus other components makes this needlessly heavy, as well as difficult to maintain the pump. They wear out as time goes by even barring malfunction. Water and pump contained in a bucket within pot with hose coming up through a tray that drains back into bucket with their flat stones and just enough pea gravel to cover rest of tray would have same aesthetic and a fraction of the weight and easy to maintain. 😜
That was the best tutorial i have seen , so simple , straight forward information and pausing in between takes , loved it give people like myself time too soak it up and doin it '' thankyou very much for your help , and the fountains look absolutely divine , thats how i would describe them divine , have a wonderful day.
I may have to go in this direction. I cannot seem to keep bucket filled with water. I've tried rebuilding, resetting, different materials such as large mulch and cannot keep water flowing. Thanks for decorative pot suggestion!!
Good video for 2009 but wonder how many carpets got ruined when people sealed a water pot hole with duct tape. He said that container holds 15 gallons of water, fill it with 15 and you would have water coming out of the cord hole that he sealed with duct tape LOL. This would be great if you would eliminate the duct tape and use silicone on the decorative pot cord hole. Also instead of the hose clamp just use a smaller pump. Simple changes for 2018!
Its not necessary to put a lot of water in the planter, just enough for the pump to be able to circulate the water I'd say about 3 to 4 gallons of water is sufficient, every 2weeks add a gallon or two...
I use hydrogen peroxide in mine - keeps the water sparkling clear...just add it like adding water...preventing dirt/gravel from getting to the pump is critical. I put a piece of nylon screening on top of the basin/bucket because my gravel would have fallen in there. Also, I suggest rinsing the gravel and the rocks before assembly.
Thanks for the tutorial. While watching, I kept thinking my TH-cam had frozen.

Here in the UK I'll have to drill the rocks myself, but now I have the knowledge of how to make this. Thanks chap.
Matthias - you could stack rocks that are not drilled with a hole around the tube too. I'm in the process, putting mine outside.

Fantastic idea. This is what I am looking for. Thank you.
Very nice 👍!! I’m making one myself just like that. Thank you for sharing

Hey Joel, thanks (all the way from Ontario Canada :) for the tutorial. It was very helpful when constructing mine.
Hey, Thanks form Fraser Valley, BC, Canada. It was a big help when i built mine and i did some modifications as well. Thanks.

You guys are fabulous!!
Have you made one like this with plant in outer part of the pot? Nice idea
Great job 😊
But I’d be afraid to do this on carpet I’d spill everything 😅😅😅
Very nice, i have to review back to see the materials used, thanks.
beautiful and nice idea....it can make the room cool....
I don't see this kit on your website...perhaps because it's coming up on 7 years after you posted this?!

Hi, I need to know what size for the pot? Thanks
The liner was not used here, I'm assuming that's for outdoor use?
what power the pump was used? also there is in him a water supply adjustment?
Very nice
eu adorei sua dica muito linda
Beautiful 👌
Very helpful video but you state three 20lb bags of decorative gravel but you did not mention the dimensions of that particular decorative container.
Super beautiful
FANTASTIC! I WILL DO THE SAME!
So amazing ✌
THANK YOU!!!!
Awesome!
Muito bacana!!!!!!!!!!!!! Excelente trabalho!!!
Joel = adorable
can’t find this kit on your website-?
wow! Thank u so much for sharing. Very nice and you're cute too. lol
how many watts your water pump?
I don’t remember laughing this much at this vid LOLOLOLOLOLO
what drill bit you use to drill the stone?
Stone came pre-drilled in the kit.
What about mold?
How can I order this kit?
Hey he is soooo handsome
But what happens to the water that drips down on the sides of the interior bucket? So in the space between the bucket and the pot?
That’s why he drilled those small holes all around the bottom of the interior pot so the water could flow back in to ‘feed’ the pump.
How much all this cost you?
Good job thanks
very helpful
parabéns lindo trabalho
odors?
I have made a little fountain but not like yours but its simpler.
try this one, it's cool...
maravilloso!!!!!
OK. How do you clean it? I am guessing after a period of time, you will get algae and other gunk buildup.
I use hydrogen peroxide in mine - keeps the water sparkling clear...just add it like adding water...preventing dirt/gravel from getting to the pump is critical. Katy Pek how much hydrogen peroxide do you add to something this size and how often ,,thanks
😍😍😍😍😍😍❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks! Watching 2018
lovely thank you
The way this is designed, you have to fill up the decorative pot all of the way. I think the plants would drown if you just put soil and plants.
Can u come make mine?????
lol...
handsome man
