Thanks Chilly, I loved embellishing Leela's track. She sent me the Logic project and I worked with that, it was really great. I found her main drum and bass tracks and built on them. The original bass and drum lines still drive the piece. I made sure that bass line is a central element of the mix. I added some harder synths, still following Leela's chord progressions, and I doubled Leela'a midi drums it with a trap beat. I used a Logic auto drummer and the 'follow' function to have the trap drummer follow the midi drum beat and it sounds great. I muted some of the ethereal sounds in the original mix, while I was working on the rhythm section groove -- I later used the "earth control" clip and s;piced other sounds into places where I was hearing a space. Came out cool. Then some lyrics just popped into my head about a spacecraft that is the lone survivor when earth is destroyed by a comet. Then alien spacecraft appears and brings them to another inhabitable planet through a wormhole. Recording vocals didn't take long. Based on those very stoned thoughts, I opened Kaiber and started making prompts based on my idea. It allows you to view four key frame photos based on your prompt and you choose one. It's cool, because in addition to the video you buy, Kaiber allows you to download free stills of videos you don't choose to pay for and download. I used lots of those stills in the video. The Kaiber subscription comes with credits you use to pay for the videos. Then I put a wav file of the Earth Control remix track into Final Cut. As I made each video in Kaiber, I pulled it directly into Final Cut and synced the clips with music. I mastered the audio track a little using Final Cut's audio suite, which allows me to use Logic plugins. What you see and hear s the result, glad you enjoyed it!
